But despite their desire, Patrick remembered their agreement not to do anything intimate while at hospital. So reluctantly, he let go of Aimee after their passionate kiss.

“Let’s go home,” Patrick repeated firmly, his tone becoming slightly harsher than usual.

Aime laughed at his urgency, poking his waist playfully. “Why are you being so mean? You scared me!” she teased.

Patrick glared at her teasingly, his eyes filled with desire. “You know why,” he growled softly making sure no one else could hear them.

Aimee was deliberately provoking Patrick, knowing full well that he was angry, yet still intentionally teasing him.

Sure enough, Patrick at this time was really funny.

He squinted his eyes and said to Aimee, “Aimee, I changed my mind.”

Aimee was taken aback and instinctively thought that Patrick was going to do it here.

She was about to say no when Patrick dragged her outside.

Patrick didn’t say a word to Aimee until they got into the car.

Aimee looked at Patrick, who had already started the car, with suspicion. She was also aware that she had angered Patrick.

However, more than this, Aimee was curious about where Patrick was taking her.

Ten minutes later, Aimee’s question was answered.

Patrick took Aimee directly to a hotel, following the principle of proximity and choosing the hotel closest to the hospital.

Aimee was almost laughing to death. Inside the elevator, she intentionally said, “We’re an old couple. You’re making it seem like we’re sneaking around behind our spouses’ backs.”

Patrick looked deeply at Aimee upon hearing her words, and lightly touched inside his cheek with his tongue without saying a word. However, just that one look was enough to make Aimee obediently quiet down.

As they say, those who know the times are wise, and Aimee knew Patrick too well. At times like this, it was best not to provoke him if she wanted to have a good night.

However, it seemed that Aimee’s realization of the situation had come too late. After Patrick swiped the card and entered the room, he immediately pushed Aimee against the wall without even inserting the card into its slot. She felt a jolt in her back that made her grunt softly.

But Patrick didn’t give her any time to react before he began acting aggressively towards her.

At this point, Aimee had already resigned herself to what was happening and could only hope for a good night’s sleep afterwards.

Unfortunately for her though, she soon realized that this hope was misplaced when she opened her eyes again and saw daylight outside.

Patrick wanted to take her out for breakfast but all Aimee could think about was kicking him in retaliation for treating her like breakfast herself.

When she finally opened her eyes again later on in the day, it turned out that she hadn’t needed as much sleep as she thought or else she would have slept until dark. She found Patrick sleeping next to her looking completely satisfied with himself, which annoyed Aimee so much that she pinched his nose between two fingers while also covering his mouth until he woke up confusedly asking, “What’s going on?”

A snort escaped from Aimee’s lips at how obviously unawake he still sounded before replying, “I don’t want you sleeping.”

It became clear then that poor Aimee had been mistreated by him yet again!

Patrick understood what had happened right away though; pulling Aimee closer towards him so they were both lying down together comfortably.

He asked, “So tell me what you want me do?” but there wasn’t anything specific on mind except maybe food since hunger pangs were starting up inside of her now…

“I want the Autumn Pantry’s noodles,” said Aimee.

She was deliberately teasing Patrick. Everyone knew that the Autumn Pantry only opened after 7 pm, and it was only noon now, so even if they wanted to eat there, they couldn’t.

Patrick said, “I’ll go buy it.”

Aimee propped up her chin and said, “Are you planning on using your connections?”

“I never do that normally. It’s not a big deal to do it once,” Patrick replied.

Aimee sighed and pushed down Patrick who had already stood up to get dressed. She said, “Forget it. It’s no fun.”

Upon hearing this, Patrick said, “Then I’ll cook for you?”

Aimee asked suspiciously, “When did you learn from the Autumn Pantry’s owner?”

“I haven’t learned yet. Can I learn on the spot?” Patrick quickly responded.

Aimee chuckled and said, “That’s still considered using your connections. No way.”

Patrick had no choice but to give up.

This time he really “bullied” Aimee badly. If he didn’t let her teach him properly now, she would never let him “bully” her again in the future.

Patrick then suggested, “I’ll just cook by myself and figure it out.”

With a smile on her face, Aimee encouraged him saying, “Good luck! I believe in you.”

The hotel room had a kitchen stocked with all the necessary spices and seasonings. However, they needed to prepare the ingredients themselves. Patrick checked what ingredients they had and called customer service to have any missing ones delivered.

Aimee sat at the island counter in her robe, watching Patrick mix various spices together. He made a mistake as early as the third spice, but Aimee didn’t say anything.

After finishing mixing all of the spices together, Patrick tasted it and frowned in disappointment. Aimee asked if he wanted help from someone else.

Patrick replied, “If I promised you that I would do it myself like a man, then I will keep my word.”

Aimee countered with “You can ask me for help too since we’re married.”

Patrick responded by saying that he didn’t want his wife helping him because then he wouldn’t be much of a man anymore.

Despite this exchange making Aimee happy, she hesitated when Patrick made mistakes even up until his fifth bowl of seasoning mixtures. She knew that if she didn’t step in soon, she might not get to eat her noodles until tomorrow morning.

Luckily for her though, before she could speak up about helping out herself or ordering takeout instead – which would’ve been fine too – Patrick took care of everything himself without leaving her hungry or waiting around empty-handed.

Although his cooking skills had improved greatly over time (he was now better than any other Hayden family sibling), there were still some areas where he fell short compared to others who were more skilled in this area than him like professional chefs or home cooks who’d been doing it for years on end without fail.

Aimee rested her chin and saw that Patrick had already been making the ninth bowl, and asked again, “Do you really don’t want my help?”

Patrick had a momentary urge, and maybe, he shouldn’t have.

However, today he really wanted to challenge this bowl of seasoning, and he was really unconvinced.

“Give me six more chances,” Patrick said.

When he reached the fifteenth bowl, if he still can’t do it, then he can only bow his head to reality.

Aimee readily agreed, but really didn’t make a sound to remind him.

All of Patrick’s patience in his life was actually given to Aimee.

If it wasn’t for Aimee’s noodles, Patrick might have lost his temper long ago.

However, because this noodle was what Aimee wanted to eat, Patrick was very focused and patiently mixed it.

Aimee had been accompanying Patrick here all along, watching him make different mistakes each time but also seeing him getting closer and closer to the correct answer.

In fact, Aimee was a little nervous.

Naturally, she hoped that Patrick would succeed. Otherwise, even if he did it for her sake alone, only they two would know about it. But they had already spent so much time and effort on this, if he still got it wrong in the end, Patrick would feel discouraged.

Aimee even thought about how to remind Patrick without being too obvious about it.

However, this was impossible to achieve.

Patrick knew her too well and she knew him too well as well.

He could easily read what her actions meant. How could he not notice?

Trying to remind him would be like handing over the correct answer directly to him. This wouldn’t make Patrick happy either.

When Patrick got to the thirteenth bowl, Aimee almost blurted out that she didn’t want to eat anymore. Patrick was such a proud person that even a small setback might not bother him, but for Aimee it was a big deal. She couldn’t allow those emotions to show on Patrick’s face.

No matter what Aimee did, it seemed like a lose-lose situation. She really didn’t want to give up.

Luckily, when they got to the fifteenth bowl, Patrick suddenly had an epiphany and noticed something he hadn’t before. Aimee smiled and her eyes welled up with tears of joy.

Patrick mixed in the seasoning and tasted it before saying “done”.

Aimee praised him from the bottom of her heart by saying “you’re amazing!”

The island counter was so big that there was some distance between them; otherwise at this moment, Aimee would have wanted nothing more than to hug Patrick tightly and kiss his lips hard.

Patrick also had this thought, but unfortunately his hands were not very clean.

Without stopping his movements, he continued cooking noodles until finally presenting a perfect bowl of noodles in front of Aimee.

After smelling the aroma of the noodles for some time, Aimee hugged Patrick’s neck tightly and kissed him hard before starting on her meal which tasted exactly like the Autumn Pantry’s recipe.

After eating several bites, Aimee said. “If the Autumn Pantry’s owner knew you cracked their secret recipe, he might cry.”

Patrick replied, “He should be grateful I’m not competing with him.”

Aimee said, “You never know, maybe one day we’ll open our own restaurant?”

Patrick looked at her and asked, “Do you want to open your own restaurant?”

“I don’t have that dream, but Ivy does. She wants Mikayla as partner. Ivy has already talked about it with me.” Aimee replied.

Thinking about Mikayla’s culinary skills, Patrick felt she could do anything as long as she enjoyed doing it. Ash really hyped up Mikayla no matter what, and she could do no wrong in his eyes. But when it came down opening their own restaurant, Patrick remained neutral.

Aimee smiled when she saw Patrick’s silence and said, “Mikayla knows her own level well. She’s very clear-headed and knows that opening a restaurant isn’t suitable for her. She doesn’t really want to do it.”

“I’m afraid she might get carried away and come up with some creative cuisine,” Patrick said.

“You’re making me wonder if Damion talked to you about this,” Aimee joked.

The reason Ivy thought of opening a restaurant, let alone opening one with Mikayla, was the strange restaurant she went to with Damion.

As Ivy put it, if that kind of restaurant can be successful, there was no reason they can’t be too.

“Ivy isn’t the type to have such wild ideas. This idea is probably from Damion,” Patrick said.
