Chapter 478 – She Is The Campus Prince Novel Free Online By Alyssa Fox

‘What’s holding her back?’ Eddie wondered.

Maybe that was also why she suddenly started acting distant toward him a year ago.

Thinking of this, Eddie couldn’t help but frown.

Vicki headed back home.

Baron hadn’t come back, and there were just a few servants around in the huge place.

Vicki went straight to her room.

She kicked off her shoes and curled up on the sofa, her mind a tangled mess.

She wasn’t sure how long she’d been sitting there alone when suddenly, she thought of Camilla.

That’s it! I can ask Camilla,’ Vicki thought.

She then sent Camilla a WhatsApp message.

Vicki: [Cami, I want to ask you something about Eddie. Can you help me out?]

Camilla replied almost instantly. [Ask away, Vicki. What do you want to know?]

Vicki typed out a message but soon deleted it. After several attempts, she finally asked: [Was Eddie’s love life pretty complicated before?]

Camilla was confused. [Eh? Why are you suddenly asking me something like this?]

Vicki replied: [Just tell me, yes or no.]

Camilla typed: [Yeah.]

Vicki was shocked.

When she saw Camilla’s reply, her heart instantly went cold.

She didn’t even see what Camilla sent after that.

‘So Baron wasn’t lying to me,’ she thought.

‘I never would’ve guessed Eddie was like that… But now he looks so mature and steady. Why?”

Maybe he had changed his ways now that he was older.

If that were the case, could Eddie stop being a playboy and treat her seriously?

Vicki didn’t think she was that irresistible.

She was so inexperienced. How could she ever handle someone like Eddie?

‘Guess I should just do what Baron says and keep my distance from Eddie,’ she thought.

Vicki curled up on the sofa, her heart aching for her first love-a love that had barely begun to bloom before it was nipped in the bud.

Eddie was hesitating about whether to send Vicki a message when a text from Camilla popped up on his phone.

Camilla: [Eddie, Vicki just suddenly asked me about your past. Is there something going on between you two?)

Eddie’s eyes widened sharply. He immediately called Camilla.

Camilla picked up right away. “Eddie.”

“Cami, what exactly did Vicki ask you? And what did you tell her?”

Eddie tried his best to keep his cool, but anyone could hear the tension in his voice.

Camilla answered honestly, “She asked if you used to have a lot of girlfriends, and I told her you did.”

Eddie nearly choked.

He couldn’t believe it. Vicki had actually gone to Camilla to ask about his love life.

Eddie knew that sooner or later, she would learn about all the wild things he’d done in the past.

But right now, his face was burning with shame.

His reckless days from years ago felt like a slap, hitting him hard.

If he could, Eddie wished he could be remade from scratch, so he could be clean and innocent when facing Vicki.

But there were no do-overs in life.

All the ugly mess from his past was now laid bare right in front of Vicki.

Eddie felt a dull ache in his chest.

“Eddie?” Camilla called out when he didn’t say anything for a long while.

Eddie clenched his phone tightly, his voice hoarse. “Camilla, it’s fine.”

Camilla asked again, “Eddie, are you and Vicki… dating?”

Eddie let out a bitter laugh. “Am I even worthy of her?”

“Eddie…” Camilla started.

“Alright,” Eddie cut her off. “I’ve got work to do. Talk later.”

With that, he ended the call.

He slumped down on the couch, feeling completely defeated.

Just a moment ago, Eddie was still clinging to the hope that maybe things could move forward with Vicki. But now, reality hit him hard: he just wasn’t good enough for her. ‘Who am I kidding? I really don’t deserve her, he thought bitterly.

The next morning, Vicki woke up.

She barely slept a wink last night.

When she got up in the morning, her face looked a little drawn, and she just didn’t seem herself.

While drinking his milk, Baron asked, “Vicki, did you not sleep well last night?”

“Huh?” Vicki seemed a little out of it.

“You don’t look so good.”

Vicki touched her own face. “Really?”

Baron asked with concern, “Are you feeling unwell?”

Vicki quickly shook her head. “No, I’m fine.”

After breakfast, Baron still had Rachel come over to check on Vicki.

Vicki sighed, “Rachel, I’m really okay, right? Baron’s just overreacting.”

Rachel smiled, “You’re fine. Your brother’s just worried about you.”

Vicki muttered, “Surprised he still has time to worry about me when he’s busy being all lovey-dovey with you every day.”

Rachel stared at her speechlessly.

Baron, still lounging on the couch without even looking up, said, “Where do you want to go today? I’ll go with you.”

Vicki waved her hands. “Come on, I’m not about to play third wheel for you two lovebirds. I’m tired, so I’m gonna go catch up on some sleep. You guys go have fun. Don’t worry about me.”

With that, Vicki let out a few big yawns and headed upstairs.

Back in her room, she couldn’t help but glance out the floor-to-ceiling window toward Eddie’s house, but she quickly dropped her gaze.

‘Luckily, nothing’s happened between me and Eddie yet,’ Vicki thought to herself. ‘Maybe that’s for the best.’

She pulled the curtains shut, planning to get some sleep, But as she lay in bed, she tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.

After a while, Vicki got up to find that Baron and Rachel had already left.

She walked out of the villa, and before she knew it, she was standing in front of Eddie’s house.

But there was no sign of Eddie anywhere.
