“Sarah… I understand what you are saying. If this some other student in the university we don’t have any issues. But this is all about him… Andrew Patterson…”
“I know, Luke that we don’t like him because he is creepy sometimes. But is that a reason to let him suffer alone in a situation like this?” I asked.
“You know nothing, Sarah… He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He is fu**ing dangerous…” he said.
“Didn’t you both say you don’t know him outside the university? Then why you sound like you know a lot more about him than me?” I asked.
“This is not a time to talk about those, Sarah… Just call him again and tell him you can’t come because your parents don’t allow you…” he said.
“I can’t do that, Luke. I can’t be that inhumane. On the other hand, he may have already sent a vehicle for me…” I said.
“What the fu**? Did you ask him to send you a vehicle too? You are totally insane…” he yelled.
“I didn’t ask him to send me a vehicle. He said he is sending a one. There is no point in yelling at me now, Luke…”
“Don’t know how Jake will react when he knows this…” he said worriedly.
“Is there a way to call him? I can explain to him…” I said.
“What the hell are you going to explain to him? He is already in a lot of trouble, what do you want? Do you want to make him go totally mad?” he screamed.
Luke has never screamed at me like this… Without even knowing, my eyes filled with tears… I never thought he would talk to me like this. Even though I did that with pure sympathy for Mr. Patterson, I know that I have made a mistake. I should have more patience than this… What Luke told is right. Jake has already got a lot to worry about, I am creating more troubles for him…
“Sarah… Please talk… Please tell me you are not angry with me… You know how much I love both of you…”
“I know that, Luke… I am not angry at you… But what we should do now? I can’t just call Mr. Pattrson and say I can’t come. I can’t be that heartless…” I said sadly.
“Well… Sarah… Let me talk to Jake. I know how to explain this to him. Let’s see what is his idea too…” he offered.
“Okay… But his phone is switched off, isn’t it? So, how can we contact him?” I asked.
“No his phone is working. He called me just before you call me,” he said.
“He called you… But at this time? Is everything okay?” my heart started to beat faster.
“No… No… He is okay…” Luke replied quickly. But his voice clearly sounded that there is something he hides…
“So… Will you call him then…” I asked.
“Okay… I will call you back…” he said, ending the call.

“Jake… Don’t get mad after what I say, okay… Just listen to me calmly…” I said to him. Even though I told Sarah that I know how to explain this to him, I actually had no idea how to tell him this in a moment like this…
“Sarah is safe, right?” he asked immediately. God! how much you actually love her Jake? For just a split second, I wish he loves me the same way he loves her…
“She is fine, but she has made a mistake…” I said.
“What? This is something related to Andrew, isn’t it?” he asked.
“Okay… now don’t get fired up, just listen…” I explained to him everything.
“He makes her take decisions like this, Luke… He has some power to do so…” he said after some time.
He is correct… Otherwise, Sarah can’t be this stupid…
“They didn’t let me or my dad even go near aunty Liz before she died… They even refused to talk to us… It is his mom anyways… He looked so miserable…So, I tried to talk to him… Do you know what he said? He said he doesn’t want any sympathy from a murderer… How the hell, I became a murderer, Luke? POV
“What
we should do now?” I asked from him.
“I honestly don’t know,” he replied confusedly.
“We don’t have much time, and I can’t convince her not to go as well.”
“Yeah, I know that. Even if we tell her everything, I doubt she will agree not to go. She is too innocent and too kind.” he said.
“That’s true. That bugger Shane hurt her every day, but she still cares for him and loves him.” I agreed.
“Luke, what if you go with her?” he asked then.
“You mean taking her there and stay with her?” I asked.
“Yep… If you are with her, it will be a great relief. I can’t just let her go their all alone.” he said.
“Well… I can do it. But my only concern is how Andrew will react after he sees me.”
“He won’t do anything outrageous because you are with Sarah. He is pretending to be a saint in front of her,” he said.
“Yeah, that’s true.” I agreed.
“But you have to be careful always. Try to stay with her all the time, and don’t let her meet unnecessary people, you know what I meant, right?” he asked.
“Yeah, I know…” I replied. I don’t really want to go to Andrew’s place. I just wish I can be with Jake at this hard time. But this is what he needs from me, and I am willing to do anything for him.
“It is such a relief, Luke. Knowing that you will be with her, reduce half of my worries,” he said.
“Don’t worry. I will take care of her. You may just focus on the issues you have.” I replied.
