I hear her chuckle, Theo growls softly, and she stops, taking a step back. “What, worried I’m going to steal your mate, Theo?” I raise an eyebrow before it clicks.

“I’m lesbian, Imogen, that’s why I can smell you.” Well then, that definitely explains it then. Merida walks over and hugs me, Theo’s bloodied shirt staining my already dirty dress.

“Take her home. I will stop by and see you tomorrow Imogen,” she says with a wink. I smile, but then wonder how I’m actually going to get home, if they are using my car for body disposal.

Theo moves toward me and I know instantly he’s going to run with me. I gag when he grabs me, his skin sticky with blood, but his cool skin is soothing. I feel his hands go into my hair before he tucks my face into the side of his neck. “Ready?” He asks.

“No.” I hear him chuckle before I feel air brushing past me, whipping my skin.

CHAPTER 48

My body relaxes against his skin. I can hear Tobias behind us, hear the noise of his paws on the ground. Surprisingly, he can keep up.

I knew Theo was a lot faster than Tobias, but this time Tobias is able to keep pace. I feel like he’s running for hours, when we suddenly stop at the end of the driveway. I lift my head and see Tobias shake out his fur before rising completely naked. Theo lets me go and I slide down his body onto my feet.

I can just make out the house lights from where we stand. Tobias walks over to me and grabs my hand. I’m actually glad that this place is so secluded, we definitely would have raised some eyebrows if someone drove past; walking hand-in-hand with one naked man and another soaked in blood, I’m sure it definitely would have raised some questions.

We walk for about five minutes before one of them speaks up. “Did you leave because of me?” Asks Theo.

I don’t answer, leaving was definitely the wrong choice. I can feel that Theo honestly believes he’s the cause of all this. Truthfully, he is, and the way they need to keep me hidden away. When we make it to the house, I stop, looking up at it. This place actually feels like home or maybe it is their feeling toward it. But it doesn’t change the fact it is also my prison. When I stop, they do too.

“What is it?” Tobias asks, looking at me.

“I don’t want to be trapped here again. I also don’t want to be forced to change.” I hear Theo sigh. I can tell he doesn’t agree, I can feel it, the same as Tobias, but they never voice that out loud. “Are you going to keep me here?” I watch as they look at each other.

“Please, Imogen, can we just go inside? We can talk about it later, I promise,” Theo says. He sounds tired despite the fact he never sleeps.

“Not until you answer. I’m not going in there if I can’t live like a normal person, Theo.” I say, letting go of both their hands. I’m surprised when I feel Tobias get angry. I expect it from Theo after the other day, but he seems calm, almost resigned to the fact I won’t be held prisoner anymore. Like he accepts it, but Tobias on the other hand, I feel burning anger ripple through me, making me angry, feeding off his emotion.

“Please don’t make me force you inside, Imogen. Not tonight, I don’t want to argue about this.” Before I can answer, Theo shoots him a look and then turns to me.

“If we let you go back to work, will you stay?” He asks.

I nod; I just didn’t want to remain cooped up in this house twenty-four seven. Tobias growls at Theo but holds his tongue and doesn’t argue back. I can tell that later this is going to turn into another argument between them.

After a few seconds of them glaring at each other, I walk between them and up the veranda stairs. I turn the handle, walk inside and collapse on the couch. I’m not there long before I’m scooped up and taken to the downstairs bathroom. The bathroom is similar to the one upstairs, only difference is the floor tiles are black, not gray and it doesn’t have a bath, just one giant shower, which is actually bigger than the one upstairs.

Theo starts the shower, and I strip my clothes off and step in. I notice Tobias doesn’t come in and can feel he is still angry.

“Don’t worry about him, he will calm down,” Theo says, pulling me under the stream of water.

The entire shower floor is red with blood, some even congealed in his hair and he has to wash his hair three times to get it all out. The steam in the bathroom makes the entire room smell of blood and mud, making me gag. Theo reaches up above his head and opens the window since the exhaust fan isn’t doing much to rid the room of the pungent smell. Once he washes what he can see off, I grab the soap.

“Turn around,” he does, and I run the soap and loofah over his back, washing until he is no longer bloody. When I’m done, I start washing myself, hissing every time the soap burns the grazes on my skin.

When I wash my hair, I nearly jump completely onto Theo. “What is it?”

“I smacked my head on the door, when they ripped me out of the car.” I tell him. My head is burning, I touch it and there is a huge lump. Theo pushes my hands away and examines it.

“Yeah, ouch, that looks painful. Got a nice egg on your head and a cut.”

“No shit, Sherlock,” I say, sarcastically.
