After about three or four hours of driving, I feel this sudden rush of fear hit me, sending goosebumps all over me. I look around nervously, my anxiety kicking in. Pulling over, I think I will stretch my legs and have a break from driving. I have about four hours of daylight left and really need to find somewhere to stay for the night. Getting out, I stretch my legs before raising my arms above my head to stretch my back. My heart is pounding in my chest, and my eyes move over my surroundings frantically, but I’m in the middle of nowhere. All I can see is fields and trees, not a house in sight.

I can’t shake the feeling of dread consuming me, deciding it’s best to keep moving. I hop back in and start driving again. I have to stop in a small town for fuel again, refilling my car, then jumping back on the highway that seems to be never ending. Just as the darkness slowly settles on the horizon, the feeling gets worse only this time, I’m forced to pull over when I feel like I’m burning from the inside out, boiling alive. No, not again. It’s the heat washing over me, doesn’t this shit ever stop? I lay my chair back, tucking my legs to my chest. Wave after wave of burning pain sears through every part of my body, the pain increases to magnitude levels. It’s already starting to get dark outside, and I’m stopped on the edge of the road, surrounded by nothing but trees. I reach over, digging through my handbag for anything to take the edge off. Finding one lousy Tylenol, I pop the pill in my mouth before grabbing the water that I got at the last gas station. Sculling half the bottle before tipping the rest over my head, trying to cool myself down.

Getting out of the car, the cool air does nothing to soothe my burning skin. I stumble to the trunk, clutching onto the side of the car. I guess I’m sleeping here tonight. I’m not going to be able to drive like this. Popping open the trunk, I try to find something, anything, the Tylenol isn’t helping. I find a small throw down bottle of tequila and drink it in one mouthful. I can’t find anything else, nothing, my trunk completely empty.

To make matters worse, the fear I feel I’m fairly sure isn’t mine. I have nothing to fear out here, yet my anxiety is high. I almost feel manic, completely beside myself and on top of it all, in pure agony. I manage to climb back into the car, laying across the backseat, trying to find a comfortable position, but nothing works. I can’t find any sort of comfort for what I feel right now. When it’s completely dark, I close my eyes trying to dive into some form of sleep. Then, I hear howls, forcing me to sit up. Is this a bad area for wild dogs because all I can hear are howls ringing through the darkness. My heart rate skips a beat as I look out the windows, only to be met with darkness, the trees casting shadows under the moon.

Then, I see them, yellow eyes in the forest, lots of them. I move back on the seat, pressing against the door. Reaching over, I lock the doors. It’s okay, I’m okay they will leave, they are just wild dogs. That’s what I try to tell myself. Only I have this gnawing feeling they aren’t just dogs, I watch as they slowly come out of the shadows of the forest, revealing about fifteen to twenty huge wolves. I know they aren’t no friendly pooches. They circle around the car, I can’t take my eyes off them. They are huge, white sharp teeth gleaming under the moonlight.

I move to the center of the seat. What the fuck do I do? The biggest question though is why the hell are they lurking around my car, I am a nobody. I don’t know them, yet here they are, trapping me. I hear one growl, moving towards the car, I move away only for another to move closer, my head spins back and forth, trying to keep watch on all of them. I quickly glance around the car for anything to defend myself. I think about jumping in the driver’s seat and trying to take off but as soon as I move, one of them charges, hitting the driver’s side door, the entire car shaking at the impact. I jump back.

I only manage to find an empty bottle; I can see it on the passenger side footwell in the front. I just need to reach it. I watch as one shifts. His bones rearrange before he stands up, his fur turning to skin, he cracks his neck. There’s an evil glint in his eyes that makes me forget the pain I’m in, I know they are up to no good. He stands completely naked, his entire manly body on display. I gulp, he walks over, and I decide it’s now or never. I scramble over the seat, grabbing the bottle just in time to hear the window smash, glass hitting me and spraying over the backseat. I scream and shield my face, clutching the bottle tightly in my hand.

He reaches his arm in and unlocks the door. I scramble to the other side only to jump when I hear another one tap on the window behind me, making me jump. I turn to see another dark-haired man, standing on the other side of the door, completely naked.

My heart is hammering in my chest so hard I can hear it, adrenaline kicks in. When I hear the door open my eyes fly in the direction of the noise. The man leans in and I smash the bottle on his head, glass breaking leaving the neck of the bottle in my hand. He shakes his head as if he’s just been hit by a small child, not a glass bottle.

“You’re going to regret that sweetheart,” He says, his voice sending shivers up my spine. He tries to grab me, and I start kicking before he grips my ankle and rips me out of the car.

My head smashes on the bottom of the door on the way out, making my head spin as shooting pain spreads across the back of my skull. I scream as I hit the ground violently. My entire body aches as the rocks dig into my palms and my knees, as I try to get to my feet, only to be kicked in my side, making me clutch my stomach, winded. The man rolls me over onto my back before flicking hair over my shoulder.

“Where is your mate, little one? He should know better than to let you out in this state,” he taunts.

“Doesn’t she smell divine, boys?” Another voice says. I try to swat his hands away, as he tries to push the hem of my dress up my legs. I can hear the rest of them hollering and laughing. I kick my legs, making him let go. As I try to crawl away, my entire body burns up, my vision is blurring. I feel a foot press onto my back and then, I hear him speak again. “We’re going to have some fun with you,” he chuckles next to my face.

He stands up and kicks me again. I gasp as I feel the air expel from my lungs. His foot goes back between my shoulder blades, holding me still. I feel someone grab my hair, ripping my head backwards to see the dark-haired man’s face only inches off mine. I spit in his face, “Get the fuck away from me!”

He wipes his face with his other hand and smiles before licking his fingers clean. “She is a feisty one,” he calls to his friends. I feel the pressure on my back lift before I feel hands on my hips, flipping me over. I struggle, kicking my legs and arms, trying to hit anywhere I can. I start screaming, panic sets in as I feel my underwear get ripped away.

I

feel someone grab my arms, pinning them above my head on the ground. I struggle to get away, kicking my legs, trying to keep him from getting nearer.

I feel his hands force my legs apart. I scream and start hysterically crying when I feel his weight press onto me. I can feel his dick brush my thigh, making me struggle more. The man holding my arms is laughing. I know what they want, I just don’t know why me. The man on top of me licks the side of my face; I cringe, moving my head away from his revolting tongue, and shaking my head. Hot tears run down my face as I struggle, moving my lower body trying to get away from him. I bite down on his lip when tries to jam his filthy tongue in my mouth. I can taste his blood in my mouth. He groans and sits up, his hand comes in contact with my cheek as he slaps me across the face, my head whipping to the side with the force, making my ears ring.

Suddenly, his weight is gone. I hear a strangled scream and feel the air blow straight over the top of me. The man releases my arms and I scramble into a sitting position when I feel the hands holding my arms leave my flesh. I look around and all the men are looking around for their two friends. I hear another scream. Then, the sound of flesh being ripped apart. The person moves so quickly all I see is a blur, moving too fast for my eyes to see, especially in the dark. Soon after, a man’s head falls next to me, his shocked eyes looking back at me.

I scream and push it away with my foot. I hear the rest of them start shifting, I move backward on my hands, trying to get away as they turn into werewolves, teeth bared. My back comes into contact with the car’s rear wheel. I see the blur again and watch wolf after wolf drop to the ground. Then, I hear another wolf attack the person.

My scream resonates through the air as I see the person stop, as a wolf bites into his arm and flings him away from the other wolf he has by the throat. Theo hits the ground and rolls before jumping to his feet and lunging at the wolf, his arms wrapping around its neck and head, tackling it to the ground. Another wolf turns toward me, teeth bared, and I look around frantically before grabbing a rock.

Just as it starts to stalk towards me, I feel fur brush my face and see dark fur, the black wolf which I recognize as Tobias growls loudly. It’s a menacing sound, my blood runs cold at the power behind it. He shields me, blocking it when the wolf launches itself at us. Tobias bites into his neck, blood splatters all over my face when more wolves jump into the fight, ripping it apart till there is nothing left. Tobias, doesn’t leave my side, standing over the top of me like a shield.

It’s over in a few minutes. I feel Tobias lick the side of my face, and I run my shaking hands through his fur, pressing my head against his furry one. I stand, using the car to help pull myself up. My entire body feels like it’s vibrating with the amount of fear and adrenaline running through me.

When I stand completely upright, I gasp at the sight before me. Body parts and dead bodies are everywhere. Blood turns the dirt to mud around us. And three wolves, a sandy colored one with yellow eyes and two light gray ones with black eyes. They are huge, but not as big as Tobias. I feel him brush against my leg before I see Theo walk out of the trees, completely drenched in blood, wiping blood from his arms.

It literally looks like he has bathed in blood. There isn’t a clean piece on him, blood is dripping from him onto the ground. He walks towards me and I take a step back. The sight of him alone terrifies me. His face is all distorted, his fangs having not retracted. He looks like a demon from hell. He wipes his face, flicking blood onto the ground. His eyes turn to their normal, hypnotizing green.

Theo stops and stares, I feel relief rush over me, only it isn’t mine. I know the bond has kicked in. I can even tell who it is I’m feeling, I know it’s Theo. He hesitantly takes a step towards me, stopping, unsure of whether or not to approach me.

I can feel he just wants to check I’m not hurt. I hear the sickening sound of bones snapping as the Sandy-colored wolf shakes itself out before standing upright, only to reveal Merida. Completely naked, her perky round breasts on display. Her blonde hair is drenched in blood. But the smile she wears on her face shows how happy she is to see me. And boy, am I happy to see her. A little weirded out that she is a werewolf, but happy. My head is spinning at what just happened and starts to throb where I hit it on the car’s door.
