I’m not mistaken, you also sit on the board, right? Have you forgotten what Eaton is supposed to stand for?”

Tracy’s face tightened. She looked as if she’d swallowed something unpleasant and couldn’t get the words out.

“You were so quick to pass judgment and expel a child on the spot. Did you forget that expelling a student requires a formal review and approval from the board?”

Tracy stared at Victoria, momentarily stunned. She hadn’t expected Victoria to be aware of that internal policy.

“I… I…”

“And all of you.” Victoria’s gaze swept over the other parents. “You think having your kids at Eaton Kindergarten makes you superior to everyone else?”

“Mommy, don’t waste your breath on these people. We already decided we’re leaving this place anyway.” Robert piped up, his eyes landing on Jenarth with a knowing smirk. “My dear Jenarth, I warned you not to play mind games with me. It’s useless.”

Jenarth instinctively took a step back upon hearing Robert’s words. A flicker of panic crossed his face before he could hide it, but Robert caught it.

Robert started forward, but Victoria reached out and gently pulled him back.

“Mommy, this whole mess is because of me. If someone wants to frame me, let me handle it my own way, okay?” Robert looked up at her, his expression suddenly earnest and pleading. “Please?”

Victoria studied her son’s determined face. She could tell he was genuinely furious. And she knew his temperament better than anyone.

“Alright. But don’t make the situation worse,” Victoria agreed softly, releasing his hand and taking a step back to give him space.

The onlookers watched, bewildered. What was Robert about to do? And what was Victoria thinking, allowing it?

Robert walked straight up to Jenarth, who was trying hard to maintain his composure. “Robert!” Jenarth said, his voice unsteady.

Robert smiled at him, a deceptively gentle expression. “Jenarth, do you really want to be friends with me?”

Jenarth gulped nervously with Robert standing so close. Part of him wanted to run to Carter for protection, but Robert’s sudden, pleasant tone confused him. Was this a trick to win him over?

Were they getting desperate, trying to use him to get back into Carter’s good graces?

“Of course I want to be friends with you, Robert,” Jenarth said softly, his voice pitched so everyone could hear.

“But I don’t want to be friends with you at all!” Robert’s voice was bright, clear, and utterly firm. “You’re a nasty piece of work. Who in their right mind would want to be friends with someone like you?”

“Robert… you…” Jenarth stared, utterly shocked. He couldn’t believe Robert would say something so blunt and cruel right to his face.

The others were equally stunned. Was this

Robert’s way of handling things? Just hurling insults?

How ridiculous!

Isabella was furious to see Robert verbally attacking her son right in front of everyone. She clutched Carter’s arm. “Carter, did you hear that? He’s tearing Jenarth apart right here. Who knows what he does when no one is watching.”

No sooner had the words left her mouth than Isabella’s legs seemed to give way, and she collapsed dramatically.

“Isabella!” Carter caught her, his voice full of concern. “Isabella, are you alright?”

Isabella fluttered her eyes open weakly in Carter’s arms, her voice choked with tears. “Carter, I’m fine… I’m just… so heartbroken. Jenarth has never had anyone truly care for him. My poor boy, bullied on his very first day of school. He’s so young, yet he has to carry such a heavy burden. I’ve failed him…”

“Don’t worry, I won’t let Robert bully Jenarth as long as I’m here,” Carter declared, pulling Isabella closer in a comforting embrace. “Robert, apologize to Jenarth right now for what you just said!”

“Tch! Who do you think you are? Stay out of this!” Robert shot Carter a look of pure contempt before turning to Amy. “Amy, can you get my water cup for me?”

Amy nodded immediately. “Of course, Robert!”

She scanned the area and quickly spotted the cup placed behind Tracy, which was being used as “evidence”. The teacher had confiscated it right after the incident, intending to hand it over to the medical staff.

Amy hurried over, retrieved the cup, and brought it to Robert, looking puzzled. “Robert, why do you need this?”

A sly grin spread across Robert’s face as he took the cup, his eyes locking onto Jenarth. “Because… I’m about to recreate the scene of the crime!”

Jenarth’s face went pale the moment he heard those words. He instinctively tried to back away, but Robert seemed to predict his move. In a flash, Robert grabbed him by the collar.

“Mom – ” Jenarth barely managed to cry out before Robert yanked him forward with surprising strength.

Stumbling off-balance, Jenarth crashed into Robert. He tried desperately to escape, but it was too late – Robert was far quicker. In the next instant, Robert had him by the scruff of his neck, shoving the water cup toward his face with his other hand.

“You claimed there were egg bits in my cup, right? Well then, let’s give everyone a real show! Let’s see that allergic reaction!” Robert declared, tilting the cup and forcing the water down Jenarth’s throat.

“Jenarth!” Isabella had been putting on a performance of her own, melting into Carter’s arms to show Victoria – and everyone else – just how much Carter cared for her.

She’d been basking in Carter’s attention, his arm securely around her waist.

When she heard Jenarth’s panicked cry and tried to intervene, it was already too late. Robert moved with blinding speed.

Jenarth began to struggle violently, flailing his arms to hit Robert and push him away, but Robert dodged every swing with effortless ease.

Growing desperate, Jenarth threw a wild punch aimed directly at Robert’s chest. A direct hit would have been serious.

But Robert saw it coming. He released his grip and stepped back smoothly, putting space between them.

Jenarth’s punch hit nothing but air. He stood there, looking utterly defeated. He wanted to lunge at Robert again, but then a horrifying realization dawned on him – he’d been tricked.

He froze, his eyes fixed on the water splashed across the ground. It was clear and clean, nothing like water that had been mixed with egg bits.

Just moments ago, Robert had forced him to drink more than half of the water. And now Jenarth was just standing there… perfectly fine. In fact, his frantic struggling and that wild punch didn’t look anything like someone who was weak or needed medical help.

Jenarth stood rigid, his mind racing to find some way to explain this away.

Robert shook the now-empty cup, a satisfied smirk on his face when he confirmed it was dry.

“Wow, your acting is terrible. You should be gasping for air right now! Breaking out in hives! Having a full-blown medical emergency!” Robert shrugged mockingly. “I mean, you said there was egg in my cup and that you’re deathly allergic!”

Jenarth was stunned.

“But here you are, standing around like nothing’s wrong. Did you somehow drink all the ‘egg bits’ in my cup?” Robert’s smile vanished, replaced by a cold, hard stare. “Well, Jenarth? What’s your excuse now?”

Jenarth didn’t answer. He just glared at Robert, pure hatred burning in his eyes.

The people gathered around were stunned into silence by Robert’s mocking words and the scene they had just witnessed. Robert’s speed had been shocking. And Jenarth – who had been playing the weak, fainting victim in his mother’s arms – had suddenly possessed enough strength to throw a real punch?

Even Carter stood frozen, trying to process what had just happened.

He’d been so distracted by Isabella’s performance that he missed the crucial moment. By the time he looked over, Robert was already forcing the water into Jenarth’s mouth.

That water was supposed to contain pieces of cooked egg. If Jenarth had truly drunk it, he should have been having a severe, visible allergic reaction.

Carter stared, on the verge of shouting, but then Robert’s pointed question hit him.

He was right!

Why was Jenarth completely fine after drinking water mixed with pieces of cooked egg? If he’d really consumed that much, his reaction should have been far worse than before.
