“I’m so sorry…” Eddie blurted out, hurriedly pulling the blanket over Vicki, trying to cover her up as her clothes were a bit messy.
Vicki looked at him, puzzled. “Why are you apologizing?”
Eddie gently pulled her hand away. “I’m sorry, Vicki. I shouldn’t have done that to you…”
“I want this,” Vicki cut him off.
Eddie stared at her, utterly shocked.
Vicki actually wanted this?
That couldn’t be possible.
She was just drunk and not thinking straight.
Eddie stood up, shaking his head. “Vicki, you’re drunk.”
Vicki stood up as well and rushed straight into Eddie’s arms. “Eddie, I’m not drunk.”
Eddie hurriedly looked away.
Vicki fixed her gaze on him. “You don’t like me?”
Eddie snapped his head back to her, blurting out, “Of course, I like you.”
A smile appeared on Vicki’s face. “I know you do. So why are you rejecting me?”
Eddie looked straight into her eyes. “I once…”
“It’s all in the past now,” Vicki cut him off.
She knew exactly what he was about to say.
Two years ago, she’d had a hard time moving past it herself.
She’d even tried dating other people, hoping she could get Eddie out of her mind.
But she failed every time.
At some point, before she even realized it, he’d already rooted in her heart.
In the end, Vicki accepted everything about his past.
And now, Eddie saw the sincerity in her eyes.
“Vicki, do you mean…” Eddie was still in disbelief.
Vicki hugged him tighter around the waist and looked up at him. “Eddie, let’s be together.”
Eddie’s eyes sharply in disbelief.
‘Am I hearing things?’ he wondered.
He couldn’t believe Vicki had actually said she wanted to be with him.
Seeing that he was still speechless, just staring at her in shock, Vicki smiled softly. “Will you be my boyfriend? Do you want to?”
Eddie was completely stunned.
“I’m not hearing things,’ he told himself. ‘It definitely isn’t my imagination.’
He might mishear once, but there was no way he would mishear it twice.
“Aren’t you going to answer me?” Vicki pouted when he still didn’t say anything, giving him a gentle shake as she clung to him.
Eddie was wrapped up in pure joy, completely engulfed by happiness.
He just kept nodding, over and over, unable to stop himself.
Vicki burst out laughing, looking up at Eddie. “Good. From now on, you’re officially my boyfriend.”
“Yes, I am,” Eddie replied, a dazzling smile lighting up his face.

Eddie smiled as he looked down at the girl in his arms, who was also smiling up at him.
His gaze wandered slowly across Vicki’s face from her smooth forehead, to her bright, smiling eyes, then to her delicate nose, and finally lingering on her rosy lips.
Slowly, Eddie lowered his head, and Vicki closed her eyes.
Then, his lips gently pressed against hers.
Unlike his earlier loss of control, Eddie was full of gentleness. He poured all his feelings for Vicki into this kiss-tender and lingering, full of love.
But he stopped there, not taking things any further.
When the kiss finally ended, Vicki melted against him, clinging to his body.
Eddie sat down on the edge of the bed, holding her in his arms, with Vicki sitting on his lap.
Eddie reached out and gently took hold of Vicki’s feet, softly massaging them.
Vicki immediately curled her toes back.
“Does it hurt? I can give you a massage later,” Eddie said.
“It doesn’t hurt,” Vicki laughed, “I was just messing with you.”
Eddie let out a soft chuckle. “Why did you lie to me?”
Vicki grinned. “I was just trying to rope you into being my boyfriend.”
Eddie gazed quietly at her. “Vicki, do you really want to be my girlfriend?”
As soon as she heard him, Vicki jumped right off his lap.
She made a beeline straight for the door.
Eddie’s smile froze on his face, and for a second, it was like he forgot how to breathe.
But instead of leaving, Vicki just locked the door behind her.
She padded barefoot over to the window, pulled the curtains shut, and then, under Eddie’s confused gaze, switched off the lights in the room.
The room plunged into darkness.
“Vicki?” Eddie’s voice sounded in the dark, a hint of confusion in his tone.
Before he knew it, Vicki tackled him onto the bed.
She didn’t say a word. Her hand landed on his collar, deftly undoing the first button of his shirt.
“Vicki?” In the darkness, Eddie caught her hand, his voice low and uncertain.
But Vicki slipped past his hand and undid the second button of his shirt.
“What are you trying to do, Vicki?” Eddie’s voice was gentle.
“Eddie, I’m yours tonight. You’ll see whether I really want to be your girlfriend,” Vicki said, her voice steady and sure.
Eddie chuckled helplessly, “You don’t have to do this. I believe you”
She lay on top of him. “You don’t want to?”
After a brief silence, Eddie said: “It’s not that I don’t want to; it’s just happening a little t ton fast”
Vicki shot back, “Too fast? If you’d had the guts two years ago, who knows, maybe our kid would already be here by now.
Eddie just stared at her, speechless.
Before he could get another word out, Vicki pulled him into a kiss, claiming his lips without hesitation.
Even as their lips met, she kept working at the buttons of his shirt, not missing a beat.
Eddie had been obsessed with her for years-she was all he ever thought about. Now that she was the one taking the initiative, there was no way he could hold himself back.
He quickly flipped the script, and soon, their roles were reversed.
