He couldn’t even bring himself to imagine that.

As for cutting it off completely… Eddie had tried. For the past half month, he’d been telling himself to let her go, but she kept haunting his thoughts.

He just couldn’t do it.

So, all he could do was let the days drag on.

Seeing Eddie’s silence, Bradley sighed heavily.

“Eddie, Cam and I are really worried about you. If Mom and Dad found out what you’re going through, they’d be worried sick too,” he said.

“Don’t tell Mom and Dad,” Eddie said, glancing at him.

Bradley patted his shoulder. “Relax, I won’t say a word. Just stay

Eddie fell silent again. long as you need.”

This ore as

He had no clue what to do next. For now, he’d just crash

Bradley’s place.

A month later, Cameron was four months along.

Bradley said he wanted to take her out for a little outing, leaving Eddie at home by himself.

Eddie spent two days at their house alone, feeling restless and with not a single person to talk to.

Just then, a hesitant figure appeared at the entrance of the villa.

When Eddie spotted the silhouette he’d been longing for through the floor-to-ceiling window, his eyes widened instantly, and his mind went blank. ‘Am I dreaming?’ he wondered.

But it was afternoon, and the sun was shining brightly.

He was completely awake. This wasn’t a dream.

Vicki stood at the villa’s entrance in a pink cashmere coat, sunlight casting a soft halo over her silky hair as she looked into the villa.

Eddie felt like he could barely breathe.

The next second, he shot up from the floor. In his rush, his knee slammed into the bedframe, making him wince. But he didn’t care; he limped downstairs as fast as he could.

For more than a month, Vicki had been the only thing on his mind.

He had to see for himself if this was real or just his mind nlaving tricks on him

Eddie had never been so annoyed by how endless and tedious the stairs and hallways in Bradley’s house felt.

He almost wanted to just jump straight down from the second floor,

Finally, Eddie made it downstairs and bolted for the gate.

Vicki was peering into the villa.

‘This should be the address Cameron gave me, but I don’t see anyone,’ she thought.

The next second, Eddie burst out.

Before Vicki could even react, he rushed over, pulled her into his arms, and hugged her tightly.

Vicki was shocked. Her face pressed against Eddie’s chest, and she didn’t even know how to react. She could only let Eddie hold her, her heart pounding like crazy.

Once Eddie was sure it was really Vick in front of him, he pulled her into his arms without a second thought.

In that moment, his mind went completely blank.

All he wanted was to hold her tight and feel, for real, that she was right there in his arms.

Vicki’s body was soft, and Eddie held her for a long moment before he suddenly came to his senses and quickly let her go.

“I’m sorry,” Eddie blurted out, quickly stepping back.

His action was way out of line.

Vicki’s cheeks flushed pink as she stood there; she didn’t even dare to meet Eddie’s eyes.

These past weeks had been rough for Eddie, but honestly, they’d been just as hard on her.

Vicki knew all too well-a girl as innocent and inexperienced as her could never stand a chance against someone as complicated as Eddie.

She knew she shouldn’t let herself catch feelings for him. The smart move would be to walk away before she got hurt.

But she just couldn’t help herself. No matter what, she kept thinking about Eddie,

But then, Eddie suddenly disappeared.

Vicki wanted to ask Camilla where Eddie had gone, but her better judgment held her back.

She was so torn up and miserable that the emotional turmoil actually made her seriously ill.

A few days ago, Cameron just popped up out of nowhere.

Cameron told her that Eddie had been really down lately, probably because of her, and asked her to come to Viremont to see for herself.

So she lied to her brother and came to Viremont alone, never expecting Eddie would pull her into such a big hug the moment he saw her.

Vicki blushed, glancing up at him.

Just as she expected, Eddie looked like he’d lost a ton of weight. There was even stubble on his chin, and he seemed totally exhausted

Seeing him like this, Vicki felt her heart twist painfully.

Eddie caught that hint of pain in her eyes and was momentarily stunned.

“She already knows what a wreck I used to be, and she still feels sorry for me?’ he thought in disbelief.

Vicki finally spoke up, her voice soft, “Eddie, aren’t you going to invite me in?”

Eddie quickly stepped aside. “Of course, come on in.”

Vicki walked into the villa, carrying a black handbag.

After a brief pause, Eddie moved forward and took the bag from her. Vicki didn’t object.

They headed into the living room.

Vicki plopped down on the couch while Eddie went to pour her a glass of water.

“Why did you suddenly disappear?” Vicki asked, her voice soft.

This had been the most torturing question on her mind for the past month.

Eddie paused for a moment, then placed the water in front of her. A bitter smile tugged at his lips. “Vicki, I know you messaged Camilla to ask about my love life.”

Vicki blinked in surprise. “So… that’s the reason?”

Eddie’s expression grew even more bitter. “Now that you know just how dirty my past is, what right do I have to face you?”

Vicki stared at him, completely stunned.

“Dirty?’ she echoed inwardly. ‘Why does he think he’s dirty?’

Vicki shook her head. “Eddie, you’re worrying for nothing. I never looked down on you, not even for a second.”

As soon as the words left her mouth, she felt a twinge of regret.

How could she ever look down on him?

And what for? .

Most importantly, what right did she have to judge him?

Though Vicki’s words were gentle, they hit Eddie like a bomb.

He stared at Vicki in shock, murmuring, “Y-You don’t look down on me?”

Vicki shook her head again.
