“That’s pretty harsh. It must’ve taken guts for her to approach you.” One shot, and that’s it – she’s probably mortified. Poor thing – she’s chosen the wrong guy. Who would’ve guessed Eugene would be so unreachable?

“Not my concern,” Eugene stated simply, continuing to walk.

Victoria didn’t press the matter further.

They left the pedestrian street behind and returned to where they’d parked.

“Need a ride back?” Victoria played with her car keys while looking at Eugene.

“My ride’s here.” As he spoke, a black sedan pulled up in front of them. Bruce was behind the wheel and waved politely at Victoria.

Victoria glanced at Eugene. “Well then, Mr. Rosewood, I’ll be on my way.” With that, she walked directly to her own car.

Eugene stood watching as she drove off. Only when her red sports car had completely vanished from sight did a subtle smile finally appear on his lips.

When Victoria arrived home, Robert was video chatting with someone. The moment he heard her come in, he quickly ended the call.

“Who were you talking to?” Victoria approached and set the packaged desserts on the table.

Seeing the desserts, Robert immediately reached for them and began eating eagerly.

“I was talking to Zachary. He found a few good kindergarten options for me. He said he’ll send you the information so you can choose.” Robert then pouted slightly. “Mommy, Zachary thinks I should go to Sunny Kindergarten!”

Zachary was the lawyer who had helped Victoria with her divorce proceedings. They’d been friends for years, and she’d entrusted him with handling the divorce this time around.

Zachary had once played video games with Robert and been soundly defeated, so the two had become fast friends ever since.

Now that Victoria had severed ties with the Myers family, it was time for Robert to transfer to a new kindergarten too. With her busy with her new job, she’d asked Zachary to help find a suitable school.

Sunny Kindergarten was the institution all the wealthy families in Capaville competed to get their children into.

But this kindergarten wasn’t just about money. It operated as a global chain, and every prospective student needed personal approval from the school’s board.

Essentially, Sunny Kindergarten only accepted children demonstrating genuine potential.

“I’ll send your information to Zachary and let him handle the application,” Victoria said, reaching out to ruffle Robert’s hair affectionately. “Tomorrow I’ll take you to your current school. Once Zachary finalizes the transfer paperwork, we’ll switch you over to the new school.”

“Okay, Mommy!”

Victoria went back to her room and checked her phone. Sure enough, there was already a message from Zachary.

He had looked into several kindergartens and ultimately suggested Sunny Kindergarten. They offered a special program for gifted children, with excellent teachers – just the right fit for a kid like Robert.

Zachary had texted, “Every top school’s drooling over these teachers. They’ll help your little genius thrive, and believe me, he won’t be bored in school.”

After reading it, Victoria quickly replied, “I’ll trust you on this.”

The next morning, Victoria woke up extra early. It was her first day at work, and she wasn’t going to take it lightly.

Before leaving for Cosmos Group, she drove Robert to Eaton Kindergarten.

She pulled over by the curb and walked him to the entrance herself.

At the gate, teachers in matching uniforms stood in a row, welcoming the children as they arrived.

Victoria quickly noticed the principal standing by the door.

“Good morning, Robert!” The principal smiled and greeted Robert as she walked over.

“Good morning, Mrs. Campbell,” Victoria said. She had met the principal, Tracy Campbell, a few times before when dropping Robert off. Usually, if Tracy was personally greeting students at the gate, it meant an important visitor was expected.

Maybe today was one of those days.

Tracy smiled and held Robert’s hand. She looked around behind Victoria, but couldn’t find who she was looking for. A puzzled look crossed her face.

“Are you alone today?” she asked Victoria.

“Is something wrong?” Victoria asked, puzzled.

“No, not at all. It’s just…”

Tracy trailed off, but just then, a car engine roared to life and caught her eye. Recognizing the vehicle, she realized her VIP was here – the visitor she’d been waiting for. She immediately slipped her hand from Robert’s and moved quickly toward the car.

Robert’s hand was now free. He glanced sideways as Tracy walked away, then spotted the familiar black sedan. He couldn’t help but click his tongue.

“Hey, Mommy, look who it is.”

Victoria turned and immediately recognized the Rolls-Royce with its showy license plate.

She knew that car well – it was Carter’s.

What was he doing here at the kindergarten?

While she was still wondering, the car came to a stop. The driver quickly stepped out, jogged to the rear door, and opened it.

Carter stepped out, looking sharp in his suit. He instantly stood out among all the other parents.

The CEO of Myers Group certainly knew how to make an impression. But then… Carter turned and helped Jenarth out of the car.

Jenarth was clinging to his neck, wearing a tiny suit and an adorable little backpack.

Victoria raised an eyebrow. Seriously?

Carter held Isabella’s hand as she stepped away from the car. They looked like the perfect little family.

Tracy approached with a smile, exchanged a few words with Carter, and then took Jenarth from his arms.

It finally clicked for Victoria – Tracy had been waiting for Carter. He was personally dropping Jenarth off for her first day at Eaton Kindergarten.

No wonder Tracy had been so formal earlier. She must have assumed Victoria would be arriving with Carter.

“Victoria!”

Carter’s irritated voice came from behind her, but Victoria simply ignored it.

“Victoria, are you deaf? Can’t you hear me calling you?” Carter strode over and stopped right in front of her. When he saw Robert standing beside Victoria, his expression turned cold. “Robert, has your mom been teaching you how to behave?”

Robert frowned. Who starts a conversation like that? Blame others first?

Carter was acting all high and mighty, but Victoria wasn’t playing along. Even Robert refused to look at him. Carter’s temper flared. “Victoria, is this what you’ve taught him? No respect, just as rude and stubborn as you are.”

Victoria looked at him and smirked. “Sorry, who are you again? How I raise my son is none of your business.”

“You – ” Carter’s anger boiled over.
