At that moment, a voice sounded under the balcony.
Danika immediately knew that it was Janet’s.She was on a phone call.
Danika peered over the edge, wanting a clearer look, but Eustace held her back with his arms around her waist.
“Are you crazy? Aren’t you afraid of falling down?”
“It’s fine.I’ll be careful.”
It was only the second floor.She wouldn’t let herself fall; even if she did, nothing much would happen.
Quickly, Danika heard Janet saying, “Money, money! That’s all you want from me every time you call! Am I an ATM? I’m a person!”
Janet sounded agitated, which surprised Danika.She was different from the Janet she had met earlier.
“So what if I’ve found a rich boyfriend? What does that have to do with you? If you dare to mess with us, I’ll cut you off! You can forget about receiving a dime from me if that happens!”
Janet hung up angrily.She stood in her spot for a while before finally calming down.She looked around, only relaxing when she was sure no one was around.

Janet retracted her gaze, not holding eye contact with Danika.She felt uncomfortable.
Danika said nothing else, and the three of them waited for the three men to finish talking.
Fortunately, it was not a long wait as they were soon finished.
Zack came out from the study and went straight towards Janet.It was obvious that he really liked her.
Danika was happy for him, but at the same time, she worried.She hoped that Janet was a good person so that they would be able to live happily together.
However, she worried that Janet was just putting on a show.

When they left, both Eustace and Evan offered to drive her home.

“No wonder you didn’t want me to invite Evan to dinner.He and Eustace fight easily.”
Even Gilbert was annoyed by the way they argued over who got to fetch Danika home, much less Danika herself.

‘What do you mean?” Gilbert asked.

After that, Gilbert had the same thoughts as she did.
“I’ll investigate it.Don’t interfere.”
“Why not?”
Danika was confused.
“I’m the elder brother.Of course, I’ll be the one to look into it.Don’t you worry so much.”
Gilbert was worried that Danika and Zack would argue if he found anything out. Danika thought of that, too.
“Zack isn’t so unreasonable.”
“When men are blinded by love, they neglect all reasoning,” Gilbert said.
Even Danika was like that, much less Zack.Danika wanted to say that Zack wasn’t the type to be blinded by love, thuy but she swallowed her words when she thought of how he had fawned over Janet in the villa.
Currying Favor
Gilbert sent Danika home.
When she saw the massive garden, for some reason, Danika felt lonely.
