“Fashion shows require glamour,” Amelia said. “Some watch the designs, but others watch you. Every place is a stage.”

Lila chimed in, “Amelia, you’re gorgeous-you’re always right.”

Sienna fretted, “I don’t know how to do makeup, and I don’t have nice clothes.”

Amelia offered, “I’ll do your makeup.”

Lila added, “We’re the same height-you can wear borrow my clothes.”

Before leaving, Amelia asked Cameron again, “Sure you won’t join us?”

Cameron shook her head. “I have plans. Have fun.” t your school gate,” he said softly. It had been ages since he’d seen her after acknowledging

Shortly after they left, Cameron got a call from Bradley. “I’m at y his feelings-he was impressed with his own patience.

“I’ll be right out,” Cameron said.

“Okay.” Bradley sat in the driver’s seat, long fingers tapping the steering wheel, Rolling down the window, his strikingly handsome face came into de

Amelia, sitting in the back of a Rolls-Royce, spotted Bradley at a glance. She thought she was hallucinating and quickly rolled down her window for s better look, but the car had already passed.

“Is something wrong, Ms.?” the driver asked.

“Nothing.” Amelia shook her head. Even if it was Bradley, it didn’t matter-she no longer liked him. Still, she wondered why he was here. She thought, is Cameron hanging out with Bradley tonight?’

“Everything okay?” Lila asked curiously.

“Yeah,” Amelia said.

Sienna, meanwhile, was stunned by the Rolls-Royce’s stunning starry ceiling. This was a true luxury, every inch exuding opulence.

From a distance, Bradley saw Cameron walking out of the campus.

She stuck to her usual style-a simple T-shirt, jeans, and the obsidian stud in her ear- bright. ther mark of her identity. She shimmered in the sunset, dazzlingly

Bradley couldn’t help smiling. It had been far too long since they’d last met.

“Brad.” Cameron greeted him as she approached, then walked around the car to open the passenger door. As it swung open, a wave of floral scent hit her.

She looked down and saw a bouquet of vibrant red roses on the seat. She froze slightly.

Bradley noted her stunned expression without a trace, adjusting his gold-rimmed glasses. “A little girl selling flowers by the road insisted I buy them,” he said.

Cameron nodded, picked up the bouquet, got in, and fastened her seatbelt.

As she reached to place the flowers in the backseat, Bradley said, “They’re for you.”

“For me?” she asked.

He turned to look at her with a smile and carefully veiled his emotions. “Don’t you like red roses?”

The flower language of red roses was passionate love.

Cameron held the bouquet. “I don’t mind them.” She’d lived as a boy for 18 years; the first flowers she’d ever received were red roses from Austin, though she’d sold them all.

Bradley said calmly, “Keep them, then. It’d be a shame to throw them away.”

She didn’t move the flowers to the backseat. “Thanks.” she nodded.

When she didn’t refuse, Bradley smiled again before starting the car.

“Where are we going?” Cameron asked.

He kept his secret. “You’ll see when we get there.”

She nodded, falling silent.

As he drove, Bradley chatted casually, “How’s college life? Interesting?”

“Boring,” she said. She already knew the textbook material backward and forward, yet had to study it all over again.

He chuckled. “Boring? College should be full of couples. If you’re bored, why not try dating?”

She turned to look at him. “Are you looking to date, Brad?”

He smiled. “Is that strange? I’m an adult and a college student-it’s only natural.”

“True,” she nodded, then asked curiously, “Do you have a girlfriend already?”

“Not yet,” he said, then turned the question around. “What about you?”

“Not interested in that right now,” she admitted honestly.

Bradley fell silent. He’d make sure Cameron changed her mind soon enough.

In the rearview mirror, Amelia Saw Bradley’s car again. She recognized it since she even memorized the license plate,

She wondered if Cameron was in that car. After tens of seconds of thought, she finally took out her phone to text Cameron.

Amelia: (Where are you?]

Cameron: [With a friend. Why?]

Amelia: [What friend is so important you ditched us all?]

Cameron: [I made plans with them first.]

Amelia tried for ages to pry details from Cameron but still failed to get any useful information. Finally, she sent an emoji. The Mercedes behind them followed all the way into the underground parking lot of the show venue.

Due to the Rolls-Royce’s long body, Amelia’s driver drove ahead to find a parking space.

Bradley parked directly nearest the elevator entrance, unfastened his seatbelt, and turned to Cameron. “Let’s go.”

Cameron peered at the parking lot. “Where is this place?”

He finally revealed, “Tonight is the launch show for your designed The Starry collection. How could you, the designer, miss it?”

Cameron hadn’t expected Bradley to bring her here.

She wasn’t particularly eager to see the finished products first-hand-she’d see them once they launched anyway. What she cared about was when the dividend would hit her account.

Noticing Cameron didn’t move or show excitement, Bradley asked in surprise, “Aren’t you looking forward to it?”

She said her true thoughts, “The organizers called me a week ago to invite me, but I gave my ticket to a classmate because of your invitation.”

Bradley never guessed Cameron had declined the organizer’s invite for him. He indulged in the thought that he might matter more to her than the show.

He said, “Shall we go take a look then?”

Cameron pushed open the door. “Might as well, since we’re here.”

The two got out and walked toward the elevator, just as Amelia’s group approached from the parking lot.

From behind, Amelia recognized Cameron and Bradley at once.

For some reason, their closeness struck her as unusual.

Cameron was a girl, after all.

Bradley seemed gentle on the surface but actually kept people at a distance.

Ever since he’d bluntly rejected Amelia last time, she knew his core was cold. Just as she was about to follow, the elevator doors closed.

“What’s wrong?” Lila asked, noticing Amelia’s frown.

“Nothing,” Amelia said with a sigh.

Sienna held up her ticket, excited, and pointed to the elevator. “Over there-let’s hurry!”

They took the elevator to the show entrance. Amelia kept scanning for Cameron and Bradley but couldn’t find them anywhere.

“Tickets, please,” a staff member said, holding out a hand.

Amelia and Lila handed over their tickets. The staff collected them and gestured them in.

Sienna, walking behind, also handed over her ticket. The staff’s expression changed instantly upon seeing it.

“Please follow me, miss. I’ll escort you to your seat,” he said with unusual respect.
