Jeremy was dumbfounded, his jaw clenched tight.
“You’re speaking in vain. It’s not as if Ms. Alyssa never cooked for Mr. Walsh. If he wasn’t worthy, how could she have done so for three years?” Xavier snapped angrily. He could no longer hold back his anger.
Sean glanced at Jeremy with disdain. “Allison might make dog food, but that’s not the case for Ms. Alyssa.”
Xavier was utterly infuriated. He clenched his fists, ready to throw a punch at him. “How dare you!
“That’s enough, Xavier,” Jeremy called a halt to his actions. Instead, he questioned Sean sternly, “Why did Alyssa send me this?”
“Ms. Alyssa sent me here to tell you that she has already received the anonymous email you sent. This is what she gave you in return.”
Jeremy was stunned for a while. She already knew? So soon?
“Ms. Alyssa sent this cake to remind you not to treat her like a fool. She’s incredibly smart and has extremely talented people around her. She doesn’t need a strategist who’s as dense as a dog.”

Sean had finished his sentence, he didn’t even bother to excuse himself. He simply turned and left the office right away.
“Strategist who’s as dumb as a dog… Was he talking about you?”
Jeremy thought that even if it had been that apparent, he did not need to point it out
Xavier finally realized what he had blurted out when he saw Jeremy’s grim expression. His face turned pale in an instant, and he timidly retreated to the corner of the wall.
The audio file was of Bryan confessing everything about Abigail’s plans-how she had seduced and tricked him into stealing KS World Hotel’s confidential information before giving it to her.
Abigail’s phone fell to the ground.
Her shaking grew more violent as she hugged herself tightly, feeling like her world had crumbl
Betty took a hot bubble bath that night before commencing her skincare routine. Ever since Landon gave her those warnings that day, all for Lauren’s sake, she hadn’t been able to sleep well.
It seemed as though a heavy burden rested upon her chest, steadily increasing in weight.
She truly didn’t understand how that idiotic sister of hers could have Alyssa Taylor back her up. Now, even Landon was standing up for her!
“That lying, thieving bitch!” Betty cried, using her lipstick to scrawl Lauren’s name on the mirror before furiously crossing it out. “Just you wait… when I’m Berenike’s CEO-“
Her phone rang.
Betty scowled when she saw it was Zoe. Nonetheless, she adopted a sweet and gentle tone. “Hey, Zoe What’s up?” said Betty.
“Nothing good!” Zoe said anxiously. “Alyssa has found the mole in her company and already had him arrested by the police!”
“What? How?” Betty cried, anxiety picking up in her chest. “W-What about Abigail? Is she safe?”
“Didn’t you see the live stream catching her in bed with her boss, Matthew? The guy’s wife went to their hotel room in person to reveal them to the public. They didn’t even have time to put on any clothes!”
Betty slowly sat back in her chair, mind filled with nothing but a loud buzzing noise
Why did everything change so drastically and so fast? She had only taken a bubble bath.
“Hurry up and delete all your message history with Abigail before the police track you down!” Zoe reminded sternly.
“G-Got it!”
Just then, another call came in from Betty’s secretary.
“One second, Zoe, I need to get this call.” Betty theh put Zoe on hold and answered her secretary’s incoming call. “Do you have any news about Abigail?”
“Terrible news, Ms. Betty!” the girl cried over the phone. “Ms. Grant got into an accident near Petale Street! She’s being resuscitated in the hospital right as we speak.”
“Hell yeah!” Betty yelled in relief.
“Huh?
Betty elaborated, “Alyssa Taylor just caught the mole. That means Abigail is right next on her list. If she gets her hands on Abigail, we’re doomed. This accident couldn’t have come at a better time!”
Betty grinned and continued, “Hmph! That little whore’s done enough for us. The best thing she can do now is stay in that hospital and not cause us any trouble!”
Alyssa naturally knew of Abigail’s accident minutes after it occurred. She was in the wine cellar Jonah had custom-built for her.
When Sean reported the news to her, she was picking a nightcap to enjoy before bed.
“Sources say she may have gotten distracted and lost focus when she ventured onto the road. Looks like being found sleeping with her boss really impacted her,” reported Sean.
Sean held onto the ladder while Alyssa perused the shelf labels up top.
“She wasn’t too bad looking. Pity she chose to sell herself out like some piece of meat.” There was not an ounce of pity in Alyssa’s eyes, though, as she said that.
Sean nodded. “Mrs. Farley really did a number on them.”
“As she should. Worse would have awaited a third wheel like Abigail Grant if she’d gone unpunished.”
Alyssa’s marriage had been ruined by a third wheel, too-Liana Gardner. Just because Jeremy never loved or cared for her during their three years of marriage, it didn’t mean Liana’s stepping in was acceptable.
“Now that the two small fish have been taken care of, should we focus on the shark?” Sean asked.
“Not yet. We’ll let Betty enjoy her short-lived glee.” Alyssa slowly walked down the stairs.
Her phone then rang.
It was General Mutt himself.
“Can you help me decant this red wine?” Alyssa handed Sean a bottle while taking out her phone. Sean frowned slightly, knowing this was her way of getting him out so she could have privacy.
“I know what you’re thinking, Sean. I hate Jeremy, but it’s not like we can’t still discuss business together.” Alyssa gently patted Sean’s shoulder.
She added, “I’ll need to continue being in contact with him now that I plan to expand KS Group in Solana City.”
“But Ms. Alyssa-
“There’s no need to be afraid. He’s not going to eat me. If he tries, Axel will wipe him out from the face of the Earth before he knows what hit him.”
Sean wasn’t afraid. He would give his life to Alyssa if that were what it took to see her safe. He could never bear to see her getting hurt again.
He sighed and went to decant the bottle as told, leaving Alyssa alone in the wine cellar.
“Yes?” Alyssa answered the call, her tone cold and flat.
“Thank you for the cake. It was delicious.”
Alyssa lowered her gaze. Jeremy’s voice was magnetic, easily enchanting those attracted to him. Unfortunately for him, Alyssa was no longer under that spell.
She had always been disciplined, able to get over almost anything, even past loves.
“You’re welcome. I hope you’ve learned your lesson. Next time you think about shoving your nose into others’ business, think about the cake.”
“I don’t think I was being a busybody.” Jeremy said sternly. “Anything to do with you is always worth paying attention to.”
Alyssa sneered. “It is worth paying attention to since you’ll be using us to remove your sister from the picture.
“After all, if Betty Walsh becomes your hotel’s CEO, your stepmother is sure to take action again. You wouldn’t want to see all your hopes and dreams fall apart.”
Jeremy’s brows knit together. Alyssa used to love and care for him when she was still Allison Burton.
That woman was gone now, and in her place was a tough, Iron-wrought maiden who planned their
Sadly for Jeremy, this woman today made it difficult for him to let go of her.
“Do vo you really think I’d care about Sophia and Betty, Alyssa? If they were capable of making it big for themselves, I wouldn’t have stayed where I am for so long.”
sa’s knuckle cracking could be heard over the phone. “I suggest you stop getting involved with my affairs from now on, Jeremy Walsh.
“This is the final warning I’ll give you on account of being your ex-wife. You will not want to make me go all out against you. Don’t blame me if that day comes to pass.”
