Filed to story: Watch Me Win Alpha (Olivia & Ethan)
Chloe’s face filled with rage and her eyes lit with a deranged spark. Felix actually took a step back from how unhinged his sister looked at that moment.
“Shut up!” Chloe yelled. Her heart rate machine was beeping since her pulse had spiked so high in such a short amount of time. Her face turned red, and she pointed at her brother with one of her sharp red nails. “You have no idea what you’re talking about! He loves me, and he’s going to marry me no matter what!”
Madeline rushed to her daughter and gently stroked her hair away from her sweating forehead. “Honey, your brother is right. Ethan was the one who called the cops on us. He isn’t by your side. He won’t protect you no matter what. Why don’t you save yourself the humiliation and break off the engagement yourself? I can even help you raise the baby.”
Chloe blushed, and her brother/ scoffed. “Do you want to tell her the truth, or should I?” He paused, and when his sister did nothing but stare at him, he continued. “I bribed the doctor to reveal that you’re not actually pregnant. I knew you were lying about that!”
Madeline’s hand fell away from Chloe’s hair. Her face became frozen as she stared down at her daughter with shock. “Chloe…is this true?” she asked in a shaking voice.
Chloe just turned away from her mom, not answering her question.
The room was silent for a long time after that. As the three Windsor’s stared at each other with mistrust, they all came to the conclusion that their family was filled with lies and deceit.

“You’ve been able to cover up your crimes in the past by bribing doctors and blackmailing Ethan’s mother, but this incident isn’t something that you can just magically make disappear with money or threats,” Felix said. The more he spoke, the more angry Chloe became. “Everything that has happened in Luceland has been beyond your control, and doesn’t that just make you crazy, little sis? It was too sudden, so you couldn’t make one of your insane contingency plans.”
Chloe’s eyes narrowed as she glared at her brother, and Felix smirked, seeming to enjoy getting under her skin after everything that his sister had put their family through.
“Felix, stop messing with your sister,” Madeline snapped. Her face whiter than a ghost’s.
Felix blinked at his mother, and his mouth dropped open in shock. “Really? After everything that Chloe has put you through, you’re going to stick up for her? She lied to you about being pregnant, and you’re still on her side? I know that you want to be a grandmother more than anything, and Chloe took that dream and spit it back in your face. She doesn’t care about you. She doesn’t care about anyone.”
Madeline let out a long breath, trying to keep calm. “There are no sides in this scenario,” she said. “The three of us are family. We need to look out for each other. It doesn’t matter the mistakes that we’ve made in the past. What matters is right now.”
The three were silent for a few minutes, then Chloe leaned back on her pillows and groaned. “Please, just give me my phone so I can call Ethan,” she begged her mom. “I know that he will be able to straighten all of this out. I don’t need Felix’s help. I don’t need anything except for my future husband.”
Felix curled his lip in disgust. “Why are you clinging to a man who obviously doesn’t care about you? If he did, he would be here. Just let it go, Chloe.”
“You shut your mouth!” Chloe snapped at her brother.
“Wait a second,” Mrs. Windsor said and held up her hands. “Maybe Ethan discovered that you were faking your pregnancy, and that’s why he joined forces with Olivia. That’s why he came to Luceland to dredge up something that happened five years ago. Maybe he was excited to be a father, and he feels like your lie took that away from him. Because you deceived him, maybe he is planning on ruining your life just like he thinks you ruined his.”
Chloe scoffed at her mother’s theory. “No, Ethan wouldn’t do that to me. He loves me. Even if he discovered that I lied about the pregnancy, he wouldn’t want to take revenge against me.” Then, realization dawned across her face. “I bet that it’s his mother behind all of this! Amelia has always hated me.” She paused as her mind worked furiously, recalling this past week and the time that she spent with Ethan’s mother. “She’s been weirdly nice to me lately. Before, she wasn’t interested in wedding planning at all. But this last week she came with me to go wedding dress shopping and helped me pick out what kind of invitations I wanted to send out. I thought that she was finally accepting me as her future daughter-in-law, but now I know it was because she was trying to get information out of me! One night, she even got me drunk, and I have no idea what I said to the nasty woman.”
Madeline gasped. “Did you tell her about Russell?” she demanded.
Chloe shook her head in dismay. “I honestly have no idea. That entire night is a blur to me. But I bet you after that night, Ameila teamed up with Olivia. Then, she tricked Ethan to come to Luceland with her so he could witness my ‘crimes’. Ameila must have told me that I faked my pregnancy, too.”
Chloe’s face screwed up as rage filled her. “I”m going to hunt that bitch down and kill her! Ameila Green is now number one on my murder list!” At this point she was screaming hysterically and her mother tried to quiet her down before she attracted the attention of the hospital staff
Felix rolled his eyes and crossed his arms in response to his sister’s dramatics. “Chloe, the only logical next step is to turn yourself in.”
She gasped and glared at her brother for even suggesting such a thing.
“At the time that you committed the crime, you weren’t eighteen,” Felix continued before his sister could interrupt him. “They legally can’t try you as an adult. You will get a lighter sentence and you won’t be in danger anymore if you’re in jail.”
“No!” Chloe yelled. “I’d rather die than go to jail.” She threw a pillow at her brother, which harmlessly bounced off his chest. “Think of another solution. Now.”
“You know what? I’m sick of being treated like shit. I’m out of here,” Felix said and turned around to leave. “If you won’t take my advice then I’m just wasting my time here.”
Madeline followed her son out of the hospital room, yelling about how he needed to do his part and help his sister out.
Five minutes after her mother and brother left, Chloe heard a police siren outside her window. As her heart slammed against her chest, Chloe scrambled around, searching for her phone that her mother hid. Finally, she found it behind a blue water jug that had been in the corner of her room.
She jabbed at her phone’s screen and pulled up Ethan’s contact information.
Her stomach filled with dread when his phone went straight to voicemail. She knew that she couldn’t give up yet, so she called him another five times but each call Ethan ignored.
Her hands shook as Chloe watched a group of policemen enter the hospital. It looked like they were on a mission.
She knew that they were coming to arrest her after Alexander’s meeting with the Chief Commissioner. Chloe knew that she would never survive in jail so she sprinted out of her hospital room. Once she was in the hallway she did her best to cover her wounds and not look like a deranged patient even though she was wearing a hospital gown.
But as soon as she turned the corner, she ran into two police officers.
“You’re not authorized to leave your room, Ms. Windsor,” a burly man said.
For a moment, she thought about fighting the two men, but she knew that she would never win against them. She allowed the officers to escort her back into her room. As she waited for the other officers to throw her in jail, she thought about something-anything that she could do to get out of this mess she was in.
Then, she remembered her mother begging her brother to get in touch with their aunt. With nothing else to lose, she typed out a message to Hana Cater. She told her aunt that if she helped her get out of this mess, she would do anything she wanted her to.
Including what Felix didn’t have the stomach to do.

Right after Chloe sent the message to her aunt, the police busted into her hospital room. There were five in total, making Chloe’s stomach swoop with fear. At least she had been able to send the message to her aunt. But was it enough for her to escape from the horrible situation that she had gotten herself into?
“Chloe Windsor, you are under arrest for the murder of Russell Lewis,” the officer in the front of the group said. He had a black, bushy mustache that quivered when he spoke. “You have the right to remain silent. Anything that you say can and will be held against you in a court of law…”
As the officer pulled out his handcuffs and continued to read Chloe her rights, Mrs. Windsor rushed into the room, and her eyes filled with tears when her eyes scanned over the police officers.
“No! You can’t take my baby to jail!” she screamed, losing all sense of reason. Her eyes were wild, and her voice was full of rage and horror. She looked like the older version of Chloe in one of her rage fits. “? won’t let you!” She ran at the wall of police officers.
A middle-aged policewoman caught Mrs. Windsor before she could attack anyone. “You’re also being arrested,” she snapped. “You don’t want us to put assaulting an officer on your list of crimes, do you?”
Mrs. Windsor’s eyes widened as the officer holding her took out a pair of handcuffs and turned her around so that she could restrain her hands. “Madeline Windsor, you are under arrest for aiding in covering up a murder and helping dispose of a murder victim. You are also being charged with bribing a police officer when you gave Officer Warren money to destroy evidence. You have the right to remain-“
Mrs. Windsor interrupted the policewoman. “Where is Officer Warren? I thought that he was the lead officer on this case.”
The policewoman finished cuffing Madeline and finished reading the rich woman’s rights. Then, she looked down at Madeline with hatred. “Warren took a bribe from a civilian. He’s been fired and arrested for his crimes. We have found evidence that he has been taking bribes for years.”
All Mrs. Windsor could do was cry as she watched her daughter be hauled out of her hospital room. Thankfully, the police officers didn’t put cuffs on her daughter like they had with her because of Chloe’s injuries.
Felix stood in the hallway with wide eyes as he watched his mother and sister be hauled away by the police. He couldn’t do anything to stop it. Even though he was still mad at them for what they did and for keeping it from him for five years, a large lump developed in his throat. He didn’t want two members of his family to go to jail, but he had no idea how to stop it.
Two hours later, Chloe was sitting in an interrogation room with a cold cup of coffee in front of her. She glared at the glass window that she was facing, knowing that the officers were watching her through a one-way window, just waiting for her to break and confess to the crimes they had accused her of. But she wasn’t going to break. All she had to do was wait for her aunt,
Sarah was on the other side of the glass, staring at the girl who took her son away from her. There was a deep hatred growing in her heart that made her teeth grit together and her fists to clench. She wanted to punch a hole through the glass mirror.
When a detective finally entered the interrogation room, Chloe was ready for him. After he opened his manilla folder and presented her with concrete evidence that she was responsible for Russell’s death, Chloe just shook her head.
“I have nothing to say to you. I’m waiting for my representation,” she said calmly.
Even though she was trying to be cool and aloof on the outside, on the inside, she was panicking. She had never been in a situation where her family’s money and status couldn’t get her out of.
The detective crossed his arms and leaned on the side of the table. “A few of the boys that you had assault Kelly came forward,” he revealed. “They were feeling remorse for their actions, unlike you. They gave us their full confessions and have been arrested.” The detective leaned toward Chloe until he was almost nose-to-nose with her. “They have testified that you injected Russell with a drug that made him hallucinate. They all say that you tied him to a bed and left him there to die.” The detective paused and opened up his folder to look at a certain paper. “The official cause of Russell Lewis’s death is asphyxiation.” He narrowed his eyes at Chloe. “You left that boy to die alone in that room, scared out of his mind.”
“Another one of the boys told us that you are the only one who actually injected him,” the detective continued. “You’re the sole perpetrator. You’re the reason Russell Lewis is dead.” He raised his voice. “Admit it!”
But Chloe just shook her head in denial.
“We also got your bodyguard to admit that the entire incident took place at a villa that had been purchased by your parents for you,” the detective went on, trying to get a reaction out of Chloe. “He stated that he was the one who found Russell, and then he called your mother in horror, who then helped bury the body.”
