Filed to story: That Campus Prince Is a Girl

Gavin went into the bathroom, and soon, the sound of water running came from inside.

It suddenly hit Britney that this was Gavin’s house. Letting him stay in the guest room while she took the master bedroom just didn’t sit right with her.

When Gavin came out of the bathroom, she hesitated before saying, “Gavin, maybe you should…”

But her words died in her throat.

Gavin was only wearing a pair of sleep pants, his upper body completely bare, one arm resting in a sling.

She’d always thought he looked pretty slim in his shirts, but to her surprise, he actually had abs and a toned body.

She quickly looked away, her face instantly heating up.

Gavin sat down on the edge of the bed, giving her a curious look. “What’s up?”

Britney finally looked at him, her gaze settling on his face. “Maybe you should take the master bedroom.”

Gavin smirked. “So, you want us to sleep together?”

“No!” Britney blurted out. “I mean, you take the master bedroom, and I’ll stay in the guest room.”

Gavin chuckled, “You really don’t want to a bed with me?”

Britney just stared, completely speechless.

Gavin reached out and took her hand, his gaze lingering on her blushing cheeks. “Why won’t you look at me?”

“Uh…” Britney kept her eyes averted, gently pushing his hand away as she stood up. “You sleep in the guest room.”

With that, she bolted from the room.

Gavin couldn’t help but chuckle.

The next morning, Britney took three days off from her job at the hotel.

The housekeeper showed up as usual, and when she saw Gavin was back and Britney looking so cheerful, she couldn’t help but smile.

She said, “See? I told you, you two are bound to have a few arguments. As long as you make up, that’s all that matters.”

Britney looked over at Gavin.

He immediately tightened his grip on her hand. Britney tried to pull away on reflex, but Gavin just held her even more

“Gavin…” Britney called out, her voice shy and sweet.

The housekeeper, catching on right away, slipped into the kitchen to start making lunch.

As soon as the housekeeper was out of sight, Gavin leaned in and planted a quick kiss on Britney’s cheek.

Britney was stunned.

Her ears turned red all the way to the tips.

‘When did things between us get so flirty?’ she thought.

Britney wanted to run, but Gavin gripped her hand even tighter, refusing to let go. nly.

Britney spent the next three days taking care of Gavin at home.

In fact, all she did was just to keep him company.

She’d already taken three days off work, and she couldn’t afford to miss any more.

When she went back to work, Gavin went back to stay with Cameron and Bradley.

“Cam, thanks for everything,” Gavin said with a big smile.

Cameron grinned. “Gavin, I can tell your girlfriend really cares about you. Go ahead and pursue her boldly.”

Gavin nodded. “Got it. I know what to do.”

Bradley chimed in, “Go for it, Gavin! Maybe you’ll end up having a kid before Lance does.”

Gavin chuckled. “No rush for that.”

No Ado

When Britney got home from work, she found Gavin sitting on the couch. The dining table was set with steaming steaks and a bottle of red wine.

The housekeeper had just left.

Britney’s gaze landed on Gavin. “You got the cast off your arm?”

Gavin stood up and nodded. “Yes.”

Britney slipped off her shoes and walked into the living room. “Is your arm fully healed?”

“It’s all good,” Gavin replied. “Go and wash your hands. Dinner’s ready.”

When Britney came back from washing her hands, she saw Gavin standing there with a bouquet of red roses. He looked right at her with a gentle smile.

Britney’s heart skipped a beat.

Gavin handed her the flowers, his voice soft. “Thanks for taking care of me these past few days.”

Britney took the flowers, feeling a little embarrassed. “I didn’t really do much.”

Gavin said with a gentle smile, “Let’s eat first.”

While Britney was putting the flowers down, Gavin picked a gentle song to play in the background.

Then he thoughtfully pulled out a chair for her.

“Thanks,” Britney said, looking up at him.

Gavin looked especially sharp today, dressed in a crisp white shirt and black dress pants. The diamond cufflinks on his wrists caught the light, sparkling with every movement.

Britney stared at the steak in front of her, unable to stop a flutter of anticipation from rising in her chest.

Gavin took a seat across from her.

He poured a glass of the perfectly aerated red wine for Britney and himself.

“I don’t really drink much,” Britney said.

Gavin smiled and uttered, “Just have a taste.”

Britney picked up her glass and took a small sip.

“So, how do you like it?” Gavin asked smilingly.

Britney nodded. “Pretty good! The wine is really smooth.”

Gavin raised his glass, swirling the wine gently. “Cheers?”

Britney lifted her glass and tapped it lightly against his.

She took another small sip.

Then they began their meal.

The steak was fresh, its rich aroma filling the air.

Gavin looked up at Britney, his gaze steady. “How’s the new job treating you?”

Britney nodded. “It’s okay.”

Gavin said, “In that case, maybe I should consider promoting you to deputy general manager of the hotel.”

“Don’t…” Britney quickly refused.

“I just got promoted three months ago, and now another one? That’s just crazy,’ she thought.

It was starting to feel unreal.

Gavin asked, “Why?”

“Gavin, I just want to rely on myself,” Britney replied.
