This realization left Aimee stunned as she turned towards Nathalie and asked, “Nathalie, can you tell me why you like that boy?”
“He looks handsome,” replied Nathalie nonchalantly.
Aimee looked at Patrick skeptically asking, “Is he really that handsome?”
All of their surrounding children were beautiful dolls whether they were boys or girls so Aimee found it hard understand why Nathalie would think another child was attractive too?
How pretty did this boy have to be?
Of course, Aimee didn’t think it was impossible for there to be children who were more beautiful than the ones around them. She just believed that if everyone around them was that beautiful, then they wouldn’t be too surprised.
Patrick said, “He’s definitely not bad looking, but personally, I think Ridge is more handsome.”
Aimee and Patrick always had the same taste in aesthetics. Hearing him say this probably gave her an idea of what kind of boy he was talking about.
However, it seemed like she was really wrong.
Their little daughter loved nothing more than eating and handsome boys.
What she would grow up to look like could already be seen at a glance.
Back at home, Aimee tried to negotiate with Nathalie about only having one cake. However, Nathalie was being difficult today and wasn’t easy to reason with. She wanted both cakes and wanted to eat them immediately.
Patrick touched Aimee’s head and said, “Let her be. If she likes it, let her eat.” They had been very careful about Nathalie’s health over the years, especially since she had gained weight.
Aimee sighed and said, “You spoil her too much. I mean, I’m watching out for her health but what about when she grows up? Don’t you want her to get married someday?”
Patrick didn’t know how to answer that question. He knew how superficial people could be at first glance and that boys nowadays were even worse.
Today’s incident made him realize this even more. Even a four-year-old child judged others by their appearance and words could hurt more than adults’.
Nathalie may not feel it now but as she grew older and understood more things, she will feel the malice from outside even clearer.
Aimee continued, “Of course I want my daughter to be happy but we can’t protect her forever. What if she falls in love with someone who doesn’t like the way she looks?”
This incident was a wake-up call for both of them. They couldn’t accompany their children forever; they would have to face the world themselves one day.
Aimee only wanted one thing: for Nathalie not to suffer any injustice or heartbreaks in life.
Patrick hugged Aimee tightly and promised he wouldn’t spoil Nathalie anymore after today.
Aimee was right. They could protect Nathalie, but eventually she would have to face the world on her own. So, in order for her to have a smoother future, they needed to do something now.
“If you can’t bring yourself to be tough,” Aimee said, “let me do it. I can handle it.”
Patrick added, “I’ll back you up. Can’t let you take all the blame.”
Nathalie had no idea that her happy times were about to end as she happily ate the cakes.
If Nathalie knew this would be the last time she could indulge in cakes like this, she wouldn’t have eaten so much.
In reality, Aimee and Patrick didn’t force Nathalie into losing weight drastically. They did it slowly and subtly without her noticing.
Nathalie still ate what she liked but didn’t realize that each day the portions were getting smaller and smaller until after a year had passed and Nathalie had lost some weight compared to before.
When Eden noticed how much thinner Nathalie was than before, he couldn’t believe his eyes!
He asked if Aimee and Patrick took Nathalie for plastic surgery because how else could someone lose weight so fast?
As time went by, Nathalie also noticed something – she seemed to have lost a lot of weight. Especially after starting elementary school, she grew taller and became more slender.
Of course, it wasn’t until third grade that Nathalie finally discovered the mystery behind the food she ate. The food Ridge and Rosemary ate looked the same as hers, but the ingredients were different. For example, all of Nathalie’s food had zero calories and zero fat in their seasonings.
Nathalie only then realized how much her parents worked hard for their figures. Fortunately, Nathalie has now grown into a tall and slim girl with long straight legs without any excess fat. Although not like
Rosemary or Perla’s cartoonish legs, they are still very firm with great lines.
Especially now that Nathalie was the tallest girl among all her peers and still growing at an alarming rate.
Miles had been eyeing on Nathalie for a while now; such good material shouldn’t be wasted outside of show business! However, every time Miles mentioned this to Patrick, he would just reply, “Let your future daughter do this.” Miles was speechless; with him and Matilda in showbiz protecting her, there should be no problem!
Patrick wanted his daughter to go into showbiz too but unfortunately she was a math fanatic who didn’t care about anything else except solving math problems! What can he do? Tear up his daughter’s workbook?
Fortunately Patrick finally relented and let Miles ask for Nathalie’s opinion herself – if she wanted to go, then he won’t stop her.

Mile’s proposal even more tempting!

Nathalie could get some idea of what this industry did alongside one of their new leading men from the company.
After shooting an advertisement, Nathalie became very interested in the industry. When her ad aired, it immediately made her a rising star in the industry. Many directors were interested in Nathalie and some even went out of their way to offer her roles once they found out she was from the Hayden family.
If Nathalie were to appear in their film, it would mean having the entire Hayden family as a backing force. Miles signed Nathalie and gave her complete autonomy after providing her with a perfect career plan.
She had control over choosing scripts and assembling teams. With some professional advice aside,
Nathalie could be considered one of the most influential artists in the entertainment industry despite being young.
Nathalie was blessed with great insight into this aspect of life. Some scripts were clearly tailored for her character to be flawless; however, she knew why these types of scripts were sent to her.
Therefore, when selecting scripts, she would not choose those that highlighted herself but instead chose those where other characters played important roles but still resulted in an excellent production overall.
After she selected a script for herself, Matilda also picked an unimportant role as support for Nathalie’s journey.
When Nathalie was twelve years old, she starred in her first TV drama, playing a cute and innocent princess in a historical palace intrigue. However, her character eventually became the sacrificial lamb of the power struggle.
Thanks to this role, Nathalie quickly became a national sweetheart. At thirteen years old, she won both the Best Newcomer Award and Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance.
Since then, Nathalie had received countless offers and invitations. However, jealous individuals had tried to sabotage her career by spreading rumors or buying negative press coverage about her.
Despite these challenges, Nathalie’s family background was so powerful that no one can truly harm her within the entertainment industry. Those who tried to mess with her often ended up being exposed for their own wrongdoings instead.
In fact, there were even rumors that Nathalie was secretly working on behalf of higher powers to clean up the entertainment industry from within.

Many directors who had refrained from approaching Nathalie during her preparation for college entrance exams regretted their decision. If they had only waited three more years, they would have risked everything just to get Nathalie into one of their films.
However, Nathalie told them that if they didn’t want her to spend several more years as a graduate student, then they should let her focus on school. Otherwise, she couldn’t guarantee what she might do next.
Her fans were originally planning how they could persuade Nathalie not just study and forget about acting altogether. But after hearing what she said, no one dared try any tricks with her anymore. Even so many people criticized and accused Nathalie of using body doubles for difficult scenes while showing off beauty shots herself without putting effort into delivering lines properly.
But every time these kinds of comments surfaced online or elsewhere, Nathalie’s flawless acting skills proved otherwise as well as praise from directors who worked with Nathalie before praising how quick-
witted and intelligent an actress Nathalie was.
If something wasn’t right during filming such as using body doubles instead of Nathalie herself or not delivering lines properly, everyone watching could easily spot these issues without being deaf or blind!
So, Nathalie repeatedly proved with her own strength that she was born to do this and not only did she do well, but also do it perfect. She never explained the rumors about her personal life because it was meaningless to her.
Of course, Nathalie would never reveal her injuries even if she had a high fever of 39 degrees. Once on set, she entered battle mode and became fully immersed in character. Even when injured and with dislocated ankle bones, Nathalie completed fight scenes without complaining.

Patrick and Aimee were often unaware of what happened until after the fact when Nathalie had already recovered.
