Patrick’s eyes flashed with bitterness. “Mireya and I were college mates. I was her senior, and she was the one who pursued me. She was enthusiastic, generous, and pretty. Initially, I had never thought of getting into a relationship, but I was gradually attracted to her. We then got together. After graduating, I took over my family’s company and was preoccupied with it. At that time, Mireya wasn’t interested in her career and her life revolved around me. It wasn’t too bad at first. “Linda and I had grown up together when we were young, so she was like a sister to me. Our families share a good relationship too.
