Chapter 625 – I Got Married Without You Novel

Eva, who was eating breakfast, absentmindedly replied.

Rosalyn couldn’t quite understand Eva’s indifferent tone, it seemed like she didn’t care much about Paul.

“Did you two resolve your conflict?”

Edith had already told Andrew about the events leading up to Paul’s car accident. Naturally, Rosalyn also knew that Paul had driven drunk after seeing Eva and Jayden kiss.

Her thinking was that when two people have a conflict, and the man gets hurt, the woman going to visit should help to ease things.

“His girlfriend is here, so there’s nothing for me to handle.”

When Rosalyn heard that he had a girlfriend, she was momentarily stunned.

“His girlfriend is…?”

Paul had never mentioned having a girlfriend before, and she hadn’t seen any women around him lately.

“It’s still the same one, Elsie.”

The mention of Elsie snapped Rosalyn out of her daze.

“If I had known this, I wouldn’t have called you…”

Seeing Paul’s first love in this kind of situation made Eva feel uncomfortable.

“I’m fine, don’t blame yourself.”

“Is it because of Elsie that your relationship has gotten worse?”

“It’s not just Elsie…”

“Hmm?”

Rosalyn couldn’t quite understand. It wasn’t just Elsie, were there other people involved?

After thinking for a moment, Eva explained the whole story to Rosalyn.

After a moment of silence, Rosalyn finally understood the whole situation. Her beautiful eyebrows furrowed slightly.

She couldn’t help but think that Paul getting into an accident for Eva meant that he still had strong feelings for her. And Eva’s obvious concern when she heard about Paul’s accident showed that she still cared about him.

But Eva was currently dating Jayden, and if Rosalyn spoke ill of him, it would put Eva in a difficult position.

Rosalyn was torn and hesitant. After struggling internally for a while, she finally decided to speak the truth.

“Eva, even though Jayden is your boyfriend now, I still want to say that Paul is not the kind of person who resorts to violence easily…”

Rosalyn still remembered that rainy night five years ago, when she was drenched and unable to get a taxi. It was Paul who stopped his car and let her in. He noticed she was cold and adjusted the air conditioning for her. In the end, he even gave her an umbrella. Throughout the entire experience, he was polite, courteous, and gentle.

Perhaps in the two years since Paul and Eva broke up, his temperament had changed somewhat, but deep down, Paul was still an elegant gentleman. Even if he was a womanizer, he wasn’t the type of person without manners. There must be some misunderstanding in all of this.

“Last time at Stella’s villa, Jayden said a few words that angered Paul. This time in the hospital room, in a place where you couldn’t see or hear, Jayden might have said something unpleasant. Otherwise, it was just a sentence asking him to attend the wedding, and Paul got so angry that he resorted to violence. It doesn’t make sense.”

Rosalyn’s words gradually calmed Eva’s restless heart.

She quieted down and carefully thought about it, and it seemed to be true.

Paul didn’t bother to complain, so when she asked, he didn’t feel like saying much.

And she knew Elsie wanted to marry Paul, so how could she go and ask Elsie and expect to get the real answer?

She also let her lack of rationality blind her for a moment, but…

“Jayden is my senior in school, he excelled academically back then. He doesn’t seem like a person who would lie, and it was him who asked me to visit Paul.”

The saying “Those who are directly involved are confused, while onlookers see clearly” applies to Eva and Rosalyn. In the past, Rosalyn was deeply trapped, and it was Eva who constantly reminded her. Now, it’s Rosalyn’s turn to help Eva analyze things clearly…

“When he asked you to visit Paul, it was indeed generous of him. But why did he wait for you to arrive before bringing a fruit basket and flowers to the hospital?”

A truly generous person wouldn’t go along, or when Eva planned to go, he would suggest going together or not allow her to go. These are things a genuine boyfriend can do. But after promising Eva, he went alone, even pulled Eva into the hospital room, and then avoided Eva and went back to find Paul. Is this really the right thing to do?

“Are you suggesting that Jayden did it on purpose?”

Rosalyn couldn’t respond to this. She didn’t know if Jayden did it on purpose or if it was for the purpose of asserting his authority. Although doing so wasn’t wrong, Rosalyn felt that he shouldn’t have done it when Paul was injured. It could have been at another time.

Seeing that Rosalyn didn’t know how to evaluate it either, Eva decided not to ask further and planned to personally ask Jayden what he said to Paul.

Just as Eva ended the call with Rosalyn, Mandy walked in with Jayden. “Jayden, have you had breakfast? Would you like me to get you some porridge?”

Jayden politely declined, “Thank you, Mandy. I’ve already had breakfast, so you don’t have to trouble yourself…”

Mandy liked polite young men like Jayden. Unlike Paul, who always acted like a young master and made Eva serve him.

After comparing them in her mind, Mandy smiled and brought him to the dining room. “Eva, Jayden came to see you early in the morning…”

He was about to go find Eva, but when he saw her, he greeted her and asked her to sit down.

Mandy took away the leftover breakfast of Eva and brought two cups of coffee for them.

After Mandy finished her work, Eva looked at Jayden and said, “I was just about to go find you, but I didn’t expect you to come.”

Jayden didn’t ask Eva why she wanted to find him. Instead, he reached out and held Eva’s hands, sincerely apologizing to her:

“Eva, I’m sorry. I was too selfish yesterday. I actually wanted you to visit Paul on your own, but I couldn’t control myself and wanted to go with you to see him. Maybe I was afraid that you would get hurt because of him and go back to him again. That’s why I foolishly used this way to hold onto you. I didn’t expect that my appearance would anger Paul. I’m really sorry…”

In Jayden’s eyes, there was a look of remorse. He seemed to have done something terribly wrong, appearing guilty and helpless.

Eva shifted her gaze away from his face and looked at the hands that held her. She wanted to pull them out, but he held them tightly in his palms.

He held onto her as if holding onto a lifeline, using all his strength, gripping tightly…

“Eva, listen to me and then decide whether to let go of my hand.”

Eva looked at Jayden, somewhat puzzled.

“What?”
