Sebastian looked away quickly, trying to make as if he hadn’t just been caught in the act, but he was saved a moment later by Marcus exiting the club.

“We’re leaving already?” he asked, frowning as he ran a hand through his curls.

“Stick Girl here couldn’t hold her liquor,” Sebastian replied, ignoring the stiff middle finger she gave him. “She’s a cheap drunk.”

Marcus was quick to grab said cheap drunk as she attempted to take a step forward, saving her from meeting the sidewalk face to face, and pulled her into him.

“Thank you.” She sighed in relief, allowing him to take on most of her weight. “These shoes will be the death of me.”

Marcus looked a little awkward but nodded anyway as he struggled to keep her upright.

Michael and Jacob joined them a few seconds later, the latter almost as drunk as Stick Girl.

“Great, another one.” Sebastian sighed, running a hand down his face. “Like she wasn’t enough.”

“Loosen up,” Michael chuckled, his arm wrapped around Jacob’s shoulders. “We were just having a good time.”

“You call this a good time?” he scoffed, motioning to Marcus, who was practically drowning underneath Taliana. “I can’t take her home like this.”

“You could take me home with you,” she murmured as she attempted to push away from Marcus, a smirk playing around her lips.

Sebastian found himself pausing as he took in the familiar look but stopped himself before he could even consider the proposition.

“I don’t think you’d appreciate that in the morning,” he replied, but he was going to have a hard time continuing to turn her down if she kept looking at him like that. “Plus, your father would flip if he found out you were with me overnight again.”

“He so would,” she laughed, dragging her fingers through her hair. “Good thing he’s not in town.”

Sebastian raised an eyebrow, glad the seductive look had left her face. “He’s not? What about your stepmother?”

She shook her head. “She’s gone too. Some weekend getaway retreat. Just me and the twins at home.”

“Thank god for small favors,” he breathed out, relaxing slightly now that he had somewhere to take her. “Marcus, can you get her to my car? I’ll drive her home.”

Marcus was in the middle of nodding when Taliana scowled and attempted to pull away from him. “I can walk by myself, thank you very much,” she said, hitching her chin up. “I’m not? that? drunk.”

Michael snorted. “Sugartits, you’re drunk enough to admit that Seb was a better lover than Zak.”

Floored by that admittance, Sebastian turned to look at his friend. “Did she really?”

Michael grinned and nodded, the moonlight casting shadows over his devious face. “The girl was practically spilling her soul to me while you were off brooding.”

“Michael, you weren’t supposed to tell,” she hissed, glaring at him for all she was worth. “You said it would stay between us!”

“I lied,” he purred, reaching over to tweak her cheek with his thumb and forefinger.

Sebastian frowned. “Are you responsible for her being like this?”

Michael tried to look innocent, but his glittering eyes betrayed him. “I would? never .”

He shook his head in disbelief as he finally rescued Marcus from Taliana. “You’re worse than I am.”

His supposed best friend shot him a grin. “You still love me,” he cooed, giving Sebastian a friendly slap to the cheek. “Oh, and I thought you might like to know that our little spitfire here thinks you’re way hotter than your brother and can’t imagine why Blair would go for him when she had you and your magical dick to crawl in bed with. Her words, not mine.”

Taliana slapped Michael’s chest. “That’s the last time I tell? you anything.”

Michael looked like he was about to explode with glee. “If your bodyguard here didn’t look like he wanted to murder me, I’d press you for more secrets, sugartits.”

In a very mature move, she stuck her tongue out at him.

Sebastian shifted her weight on him and shooed Michael away, having had enough of his antics. “I think you’ve done enough damage tonight. Marcus, drive these two to Jacob’s house. And Michael?”

He raised an eyebrow expectantly, unfazed by having his plan foiled. “Yes, sweetheart?”

“Don’t do this again.”

Michael winked and stepped back, dragging Jacob with him. “Whatever you say, boss.”

A tug on his shirt caused Sebastian to glance away from his retreating friends.

“Can we go now?” Taliana whined, once again clutching at him for dear life. “My feet are killing me.”

“We’re going,” he said, nudging her into walking. “I’m taking you home, okay?”

“Thank god,” she sighed, somehow managing to get one foot in front of the other with only a little help from him. “I can’t wait to get out of these jeans. And this top. I’m gonna kill whoever invented this thing. My tits are practically hanging out. Stop staring at them!”

He snapped his eyes back to the sidewalk, hardly having noticed they had drifted toward her chest. “I hate you when you’re drunk.” He scowled, though he hated himself more at the moment.

“You hate me anyway,” she mumbled. “Why can’t we just get along?”

“Because we weren’t meant to,” he murmured, opening the car door for her. “Watch your head.”

She somehow managed to slide inside without doing any damage to herself, and he was quick to shut the door and get in before she could do any damage to his car either.

“I wish you didn’t hate me,” she said softly as he was buckling her seatbelt.

Sebastian glanced up at her, eyes softening as he straightened and started the car. “Well, I wish? you? didn’t hate me.”
