“So you have also now sexually assaulted Miss Riddley as well?”
“Harassed,”
Wil stated before Calvin could get any words out.
The detective looked right at Wil but said nothing, and Calvin knew why. He already knew that harassment and assault and bodily harm were all different things. They were three different things: assault didn’t mean even having to touch one, it came down to how the other person felt, did they have fear of their assailant.
Bodily harm was the act of physically touching one against another’s wishes, that followed the assault and was why it was always written as an assault causing grievous bodily harm. Harassment was what came before the assault even, him tracking her and demanding things of her that she didn’t want, before he laid hands upon her.
Calvin already knew this line of questioning was going to happen. Wil had told him it would. 7 guess you could say I did,”
Calvin admitted, because he was certain when or if Marilyn woke up, that would be her statement of the events that led to her fall.
“I was trying to see if she was Marrin, who has a birthmark on her left rib cage, that was all, I was not out to harm her or touch her inappropriately.”
He stated honestly.
“So just humiliate her instead,”
Detective Pullman stated with a nod,
“By making her expose her bare skin to a stranger, that she, from my recollection, doesn’t even know. Thinks of you as her stalker, I now believe. You forced her into a corner, in a place there would be no one to see what you did, and made her show you parts of her body against her will, that she had no reason to do at all. Right?”
“I guess you could say it like that, if you want to arrest me,”
Calvin stated right back. He’d twisted his words, because Marily had gone into that stairwell of her own accord, something Calvin had stated in his statement.
“So, Mr Reeves… did you find what you were looking for on her body? Is Marrin Reeves’ birthmark on Marilyn Riddley?”
the detective asked him.
“Don’t answer that Calvin. It’s a leading question,”
Wil stated.
The detective raised an eyebrow at Wil and half smiled,
“I’ll take that as a no then. But I’m certain when I question Miss Riddley, she’ll answer the question for me, even show me or the female officer that I’ll take with me to verify if there is or isn’t a birthmark on her left ribcage.”
“Now what exactly did Marrin’s birthmark look like?”
he was asked.
“Don’t answer that either,”
Wil stated.
“Marrin’s personal appearance is not in question here.”
“Hmm, just Marilyn’s.”
Detective Pullman nodded.
“I hear she’s currently in the hospital, got that update myself right before coming in here. Unconscious with many injuries.”
“Yes, I was the one that called 911, after I couldn’t stop her from falling down the stairs.”
7 sent her to the Houston Methodist, and it has already been arranged that she gets the Wil told the detective. medical care,”
“She’ll see the best doctors, and have a VIP suite waiting for her to recover in, all of which I will be paying for. I do understand I am somewhat at fault here,”
Calvin admitted.
“Hmm, I’m glad to see you understand the seriousness of the situation. You’re paying for everything that just shows your guilt. Everything now will depend on whether she wakes up or not. As to what charges will be laid against you.
“Though I believe her lawyer is going to push for at this time, the stalking of his client, where you assaulted her, causing grievous bodily harm. That will be two counts now, I believe, and there will be some sort of s**** harassment to go along with that as well. When I tell him, you admitted to forcibly lifting up her shirt against her will.”
Calvin didn’t say anything at all. There was no point, though he did know Wil was once again going to try and arrange for a new sit??own so they could come to some sort of agreement and keep him out of court. He was going to have to apologise once more and really mean it this time.
He’d wronged her now, and he knew it, and had no one to blame but himself for his own issues with the woman. Who just happened to look exactly like Marrin. He’d thought he’d finally had her, only for it not to actually be her.
He was released after making his statement and told not to leave the state, let alone the country. After hearing that if Miss Riddley didn’t make it he was going to come and arrest him for attempted murder. That detective had smiled right at him, as if to say he hoped he could do so.
“I hope detective that doesn’t happen. She has two children, from my understanding. You shouldn’t want that or allude to wanting that.”
Calvin had grated out and walked away. That detective obviously had a clear dislike of him and wanted to see him charged with something official.
1 don’t like him,”
he told Wil
“He’s just doing his job, Calvin.”
