Britney was speechless.
As an adult, there was no way she could miss what Gavin was hinting at.
Her cheeks flushed as she looked up at him. “Isn’t that too soon?”
Gavin chuckled, gently tapping the tip of her nose. “I’m just teasing you.”
Britney felt a little awkward.
Gavin released her from his arms. “Go and freshen up. It’s getting late.”
Britney hurried off to the bathroom, as if making her escape.
After a while, she came out wearing a set of Cameron’s pajamas, but they were ones Cameron had never worn.
As soon as she was done, Gavin went in to take a shower,
Britney sat on the edge of the bed and opened the nightstand drawer, planning to put away her necklace and earrings. But when her eyes tanded on what was inside, she was stunned for a second.
She even blurted out, “Condom…”
In an instant, her face turned scarlet as she snapped the drawer shut in a panic.
Britney was completely stunned.
‘What kind of face am I supposed to make right now?’ she thought, completely at a loss.
She flicked off the light, crawled into bed and shut her eyes tight.
So when Gavin came out, Britney pretended to be asleep.
“Britney?” Gavin uttered tentatively.

“It’s okay…” Gavin said softly.
He’d just wanted to cuddle her, not expecting her to react so strongly. His big hand gently patted her back.
Britney just couldn’t keep pretending anymore.
She opened her eyes and looked at Gavin.
“So you were just pretending to sleep?” Gavin grinned at her in the darkness.
“Uh…” Britney gave an awkward little laugh. “I really am pretty tired, though.”
Gavin pulled her into his arms, gently patting her back. “Sleep,” he murmured.
They were so close, and the room was utterly quiet. Britney’s face rested against Gavin’s chest, and she could hear the powerful thumping of his heartbeat.
Each beat echoed right at the core of her heart.
Without even thinking, her hand reached up and wrapped around his waist.
Gavin nuzzled the top of her head with his chin. “Still can’t sleep?” he asked softly.
Britney closed her eyes. “I think I can,” she murmured.
“Sleep, then,” Gavin whispered, gently patting her back again.
But Britney just couldn’t fall asleep.
This was the first time she was truly spending the night with a man.
Even after two years with Soren, they’d never been this intimate.
Britney couldn’t quite put her finger on how she felt, but she had accepted this willingly.
“Can’t sleep? How about we do something meaningful?” Gavin’s voice came from above her.

Britney’s expression turned cold. “Soren, this is my house. Get out!”
Seren glared at her, gritting his teeth. “Britney, you sure are something! You latched onto Gavin and got me fired. Do you have any idea I’ve been waiting out here for a whole month just for you?”
Soren’s clothes were all wrinkled, his beard unkempt. He looked like a total mess.
He stared at Britney with a vicious glare in his eyes.
Britney froze.
“Soren lost his job? Was this Gavin’s doing?’ she thought, stunned.
Britney remembered that Gavin had once said that he’d help her get revenge as long as she was with him.
But after they got together, he never brought it up again.
Britney’s face turned cold. “You losing your job has nothing to do with me. Soren, don’t pick a fight for no reason. Just get out!”
She went to open the door, but Soren kicked it shut.
He stared at the mark on Britney’s neck.
His eyes went wide. “Britney, what’s that on your neck? Don’t tell me that’s a hickey!”
Britney froze, instinctively raising her hand to cover her neck.
‘This is all Gavin’s fault. I told him not to leave any marks, but he just wouldn’t listen,’ she thought, exasperated.
She could only feel exasperated.
“So it really is a hickey!” Soren sneered, catching that flustered look on Britney’s face. He knew he’d guessed right.
Britney was a bit annoyed. “What’s it to you?”
“What’s it to me?” Soren was furious. “Britney, when you were with me, you acted like some prissy ice queen. We were together for two years, but you never let me touch you.
“How long have you even known Gavin? You couldn’t wait to throw yourself at him? Don’t tell me you already jumped into his bed!”
Britney caught the look on Soren’s face and her heart sank. She turned to leave, but Soren grabbed her wrist.
Britney immediately tried to shake off Soren’s hand.
But Soren’s grip was so tight that she felt like her bones were about to snap. There was no way she could break free.
“Soren, let go! We’re already over! You have no right to interfere in my life!” Britney shouted angrily.
“Over? Why? You never let me get close to you! Your best friend took off her clothes and threw herself at me. What was I supposed to do? Just ignore her?” Soren stared hard at Britney’s neck.

He yanked his shirt off and tossed it to the floor, his voice full of bitter resentment. “Britney, I’ve held back for t you. Today, I’m going to have you. You’re going to be my woman!”

With his overwhelming strength, Soren seized her arm, tossed her onto the sofa, and pinned her down. “Tell me, are you still a virgin?”

Soren’s face twisted with anger. “I never agreed to break up! We’re not over. We’re just having a rough patch!”
With those words, Soren lowered his head, about to force a kiss on her.
Britney reacted instantly, throwing her arm across her chest to keep him at bay.
“Britney, move your arm. Don’t make me do something you’ll regret,” Soren warned, barely holding onto his last shred of patience.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door.
“Britney, are you almost done?” Gavin’s voice came through the door.
Britney screamed, “Gavin! Gavin, help me! Gavin…” Before she could finish, Soren slapped his hand over her mouth.
“Mmm… Mmm…” Britney couldn’t make a sound, and she was so anxious that tears welled up in her eyes. Soren hadn’t expected her to turn to Gavin for help, so he was instantly furious.
He shot a vicious glare at the door, and then suddenly yanked his hand away from her mouth. “Go on, scream! Let Gavin hear you beg! Today, I’m going to fuck you!”
As soon as he finished, he lunged for Britney’s clothes, hands ready to rip them off.
“Gavin! Gavin!” Britney screamed, her voice full of terror and desperation.
She fought back with everything she had, raking her nails hard across Soren’s neck. As he flinched in pain, she shoved him away and made a desperate dash for the door, but Soren caught her arm and dragged her right back.
“Bitch!” Soren snarled, his face twisted with rage.
Without hesitation, he raised his hand and slapped Britney hard across the face.
He might have loved Britney, but he always put himself first.
He pinned her down again, intent on taking her by force.
He held her hands in an unbreakable grip.
“Gavin!” Britney sobbed, tears streaming down her face.
The door rattled violently as Gavin kicked it hard from outside.
When Soren’s lips were about to touch Britney’s face, there was a thunderous bang. The door crashed to the floor, and Gavin charged into the room.
Gavin instantly spotted Britney pinned down by Soren. His eyes went red with rage, and in a flash, he stormed over, grabbed Soren by the collar, and tossed him aside.
“Britney!” Gavin shouted.
He gently helped Britney up. “Are you okay?”
“Gavin!” Britney threw herself into his arms, sobbing so hard that she could barely catch her breath.
Gavin caught sight of Britney’s swollen cheek, and he was instantly furious.
He gently let go of Britney. “Just wait for me here, okay?”
Britney stepped aside, tears in her eyes.
Gavin turned around and fixed his gaze on Soren, who was still staggering on the floor after being thrown aside.
Gavin’s expression was downright terrifying, as if he were shrouded in a dark aura, like a demon from hell.
Soren had always felt inferior whenever he was around Gavin.
Now, faced with Gavin’s overwhelming fury and presence, he was suddenly filled with fear.
His first instinct was to run.
But just as he was scrambling to his feet, Gavin’s fist smashed right into his face.
“Ouch!” Soren cried out in pain.
“Gavin, what the hell gives you the right to hit me?” he shouted, his voice trembling.
He felt a sudden warmth in his nose, and in the next instant, blood gushed out.
Before Soren could even react, Gavin launched a vicious kick straight at him.
