“May, you need to come home, now. Alena is gone and I know that she was a bad influence on me and the way I treated you. Love, Your Father.” Alaric has problems getting the words out without growling.
I turn to my Brother and ask him if he believes my Father is being truthful. “I don’t think so. He still does not call you by your given name and I know that Alena followed his example.” Is his response.
“Do you know who these people are?” I ask him, pointing at my Grandparents. He nods his head and then I ask him if he knows who the men beside me are, this time he shakes his head.
“Did my Father tell you why he wanted you to deliver this message?” I ask and Xandros tells us that Father expected me to be more inclined to do as he asked if he was the one to hand me the message.
Everyone is staring at us and I chuckle as I feel the confusion run through my Mates. “Let me make some introductions. This is Xandros.” I say pointing at my Brother and Grandmother jumps in to his arms and she holds on tight.
“Xandros, the woman hugging you to death, is our Grandmother.” I see the shock in his eyes and I tell Grandmother to release him. She steps back, just a little and she says “Thank you for warning her.”
I ask Xandros to sit with me, so I can tell him everything that I found out. By the time I am done, he is fuming with anger and I know why. He figured out the same thing I did, when I heard the contents of the note.
“Xandros, why are you so angry? You know what he put her through.” Grandfather asks and Xandros tells him that it is not the past he is angry about, but what Father wants my future to be is.
“Well, it won’t do him any good. First of all, I am a true Royal and that means that I can command him and Damien. Second of all, I don’t think my Mates will allow him to get anywhere near me.” At that revelation Xandros’ jaw drops.
Ward sit down next to me and pulls me on to his lap, making room for my other Mates to sit on either side of me. “Nice to meet you, Xandros. Thank you for being there for her, even if it wasn’t always easy.” Ward says to him.
“Xandros, welcome to the family. I think I will like having a little Brother that is not able to sense where my thoughts are going.” Eamon says and I start laughing, because I know what he means.
Xandros is looking from my Mates to me and he has a huge smile on his face, when he congratulates us. “Father and Alena will not like finding out that I have three Mates or that I am a Royal.”
I giggle and I see Xandros’ smile falter.
Maya’s P.O.V.
“Alena is dead. Story is that she was attacked by Rogues, when she was out at night.” Xandros says and we both know that it a big fat lie. I tell the others that Alena would never go outside at night, because her Mother had been killed the way Xandros had described.
“If she had to go anywhere at night, she would be accompanied by three Guards. Father ordered it in front of the Pack after he marked her.” Xandros explains when Grandfather asks if she ever left the Pack-house at night.
“Grandson, do you intent to return to your Father?” Grandmother asks and I can tell that Xandros is caught off guard by her question.
He starts to say something, but he doesn’t get any further then a few “I..I..” and he looks at me in confusion. I think it was the Grandson that got to him. “Hey, you just have to get used to being called Grandson. So cut it out.” I grumble.
He lowers his head and I hear Grandfather growl at the sight of his Grandson’s bowed head. Grandmother puts her index-finger under his chin and lifts his head up, she tells him to always look at them if they talk. She tells him that she knows what Father was like and that she is sorry that we had to endure it.
“I wouldn’t know where else to go. I know I don’t want to become Beta in our Pack, I don’t even know what I want in life. Father always pressed on the fact that we would take over, but he never asked what I wanted.
I even think that Ayden doesn’t want to take over the Pack. He knows that he isn’t a leader and if he takes over, Father will always be breathing down his neck.” He says as he looks at me and I have a feeling that there is something he doesn’t want to say in front of the others.
“Xandros, what are you not telling us? Know that you can tell them everything, I doubt there is something you can say that can upset them. I know I already gave them enough ammo to take Father down.” I ask him through the mind-link.
“I don’t know what happened after you were taken away, but Ayden left with Alpha Damien and when he came back the other day he looked changed. I can’t really explain it, because I don’t know why he left or what happened.”
Malachay’s P.O.V.
Hearing Xandros speak, I realize he doesn’t consider his Pack his home and I know that there is something I can do.
“Mother, Father. I need you to listen to me for a second.” When they confirm that they are able to listen, I tell them about Xandros and the reason why he is here. I tell them I have a feeling that he needs a lot of guidance to stop acting the way he was raised.
Before I am finished, there is a knock on the door and I know that my parents are on the other side of it. I get up to open the door and let them in.
Xandros is talking to Maya and suddenly I hear him ask her “What did you mean with You just have to get used to being called Grandson.” Ward chuckles because Maya is staring at her Bother at a loss for words.
“It turns out that your Sister hates titles, especially if they are used on her.” Alaric answers with a huge grin on his face. Xandros is shaking his head and says that he doesn’t understand it.
