“It was because Paul did not want to make their relationship public and said he wouldn’t marry her.Would you be able to accept that?”
Danika scoffed.She was still angry about it.
What did Paul take Stephanie as? Did he think he was invincible? Melanie would never in a million years guess that it was because of that.
It took her a while to snap back to reality.
”How could that be? He…”
“He looks to be in love now because Stephanie left him so determinedly.If she had stayed by his side, he wouldn’t have cherished her,” Danika said confidently.
Melanie was silent.
Stephanie couldn’t bear to see her like that and said, He’s not that bad.It’s just that we weren’t meant to be.Our families and other aspects of our lives didn’t match.But you’re different.You two are meant for each other.”
At once, Melanie’s eyes lit up.
“Really? You think we’re meant to be?”
“Yeah.”
Stephanie nodded.
Melanie smiled happily.

Melanie took her phone out embarrassedly, blushing a little.She wouldn’t have been so arrogant if she had known that she would be friends with them.
Danika and Stephanie shared a smile and didn’t refuse her.
Once they were done with their smoothies, Danika and Stephanie prepared to leave.
“Bye, and good luck!”
“I’ll need it.I’ll send you the wedding invites,” Melanie said.
“We’ll be waiting.”
Danika was actually looking forward to it.
On the way home, Danika first drove Stephanie back.She glanced at Stephanie, who was sitting in the passenger seat.
“What do you think? Did you feel uncomfortable talking with Melanie?”
“Uncomfortable? Why would I be uncomfortable?”
Stephanie was confused.She didn’t quite know what Danika was getting at.
“She wants to pursue Paul and even said she’d send you the wedding invites.Don’t you feel the slightest bit uncomfortable?” Danika asked.
Stephanie shook her head.She didn’t feel like that at all.
“I don’t.I’m just worried that she’ll fail.”
She knew how stubborn Paul was.
“Well, that means you’re truly over Paul,”
Danika concluded.
Although Stephanie had said so before, Danika hadn’t confirmed it personally.Now, she had no doubt at all.
Stephanie shrugged.
“I already told you before.You didn’t believe me.”
“Well, why don’t you try getting together with Leonard? You have to give yourself a fresh start.”
