So after sending those texts, Milena just tossed her phone aside without a second thought.

But Cameron had already tossed the phones to the officers.

Each officer caught a phone. They both turned to Milena. “Ms. Wallace, what’s the password for these phones?”

Milena’s face went pale, and she stayed silent.

“Ms. Wallace, please cooperate,” one of the officers said.

With no other choice, Milena reluctantly gave them the password. Sure enough, the officers found the texts on her phone.

Why di

The officers pressed her, “Ms. Wallace, why did you send these texts?”

Milena wasn’t about to tell the truth. Her mind raced as she scrambled for an excuse. “I-I saw the news about Bradley getting hurt, so I sent those texts just to provoke Cameron. But I swear, I had nothing to do with Bradley getting hit.”

The officers exchanged a glance. They handed the phones back to Milena, said, “Sorry for the trouble,” and turned to leave.

Cameron hurried after them. “Officer, that’s it? You’re just going to leave?”

The officer said, “Ma’am, these messages alone aren’t enough to prove anything. But don’t worry. We’ll do our best to find the real culprit as soon as possible.”

The officers left.

Cameron frowned.

Milena was secretly overjoyed. ‘Thank goodness I was careful,’ she thought. ‘If I hadn’t been so cautious, I’d be getting hauled off by the cops right now,’ she told herself.

Milena’s face was practically glowing with smugness. “Cameron, I told you this had nothing to do with me. Do you believe me now?”

“Not involved?” Cameron let out a cold laugh. “The police didn’t arrest you because they don’t have enough evidence, not because you’re in the clear.”

Milena just grinned, “Then by all means, go find your proof.”

“Cam?” A familiar voice called out from behind Cameron. Cameron turned around and saw Camilla.

Camilla wasn’t the only one here. There was a whole bunch of people from the Saunders family standing behind her.

‘Why did the whole Saunders family show up?’ Cameron wondered. ‘Did they find out Milena was the one behind it all?’

“Who are you?” Milena tensed up instantly as she saw a whole crowd suddenly storming into her place.

Camilla gave Milena a half-smile. “You had the nerve to mess with Brad, but didn’t even look into his background?”

Milena took a step back. “Wait? The Saunders family? You’re all from the Saunders family?”

Evan folded his arms and shot Milena a cold glare. “So you’re the one who sent that truck to try and kill Brad?”

Milena’s heart sank the moment she heard their voices. She could tell right away they weren’t here for anything good.

She took a couple of steps back, her voice trembling. “It wasn’t me. Don’t listen to Cameron’s nonsense.”

Osborne let out a cold laugh. “You really think you covered your tracks that well?”

Milena clenched her fists, then looked up at Osborne.

Osborne’s gaze was razor-sharp. She could only hold his gaze for a second before she had to look away.

‘Did they really find something out?’ Milena wondered anxiously. ‘No way. I didn’t leave any evidence behind. There’s no way they can pin this on me..

‘Cameron must be making things up in front of the Saunders family. She’s trying to use the Saunders family against me. After all these years, Cameron is still as vicious as ever.’

Just then, Cameron’s voice snapped Milena out of her thoughts. “Cami, did you guys find out?”

Camilla nodded and turned to Cameron. “Cam, how did you know?”

Cameron shot Milena a frosty glare. “This idiot texted me just to provoke me.”

Camilla was speechless.

Milena wanted to talk back after being called an idiot, but with everyone in the room staring daggers at her, she just couldn’t bring herself to say a word.

Reginald, whose handsome face was usually gentle and warm, now looked icy cold as he fixed his gaze on Milena. “Are you going to confess on your own, or do we have to force you?”

Milena stubbornly held her head high, refusing to admit anything. “I already said, it wasn’t me.”

Eric gave a half-smile. “Looks like Ms. Wallace doesn’t go for the nice approach. Guess she only listens when things get rough.”

Eric nudged Eddie beside him. “Eddie, hypnotize her.”

Milena was so shocked she couldn’t even get a word out. She took another step back, on high alert. “You can’t do this. That’s against the law.”

Eddie shot her a look. “Now you’re scared? Should’ve thought of that sooner, shouldn’t you?”

Damian cut in, “Enough with the small talk. Brad’s still lying unconscious in the hospital room.”

Cameron turned to Damian. “Dr. Saunders, who’s looking after Brad right now?”

Damian replied, “Don’t worry, Cam. My parents are in there with him.”

Only then did Cameron finally feel a bit more at ease. After checking Bradley’s pulse, she knew he was out of danger.

Cameron moved out of the way.

Milena had crossed Bradley, so of course, the Saunders family was going to make her pay.

Once they were done with her, Cameron would have her turn. Time to settle both old and new grudges, all at once.

Simon crossed his arms. “She did Brad dirty like that. So, guys, how do you think we should deal with her?”

Evan smirked, “Give her a taste of her own medicine. I could let her see what it’s like to get launched by a race car.”

Osborne chimed in, “Just ship her off to Forinto. Let her soak up the local flavor there.”

Reginald turned to Osborne, “Osborne, how about sending her to Mianorth. I hear that’s a real hell on earth.”

Eric grinned, “Evan and Reginald both have solid ideas. Ms. Wallace, why don’t you pick your poison?”

Eddie said coldly, “No need to pick. Let’s do it Evan’s way first. If she’s still alive after that, then we’ll send her to Mianorth.”

Damian added, “Just throw her off the 28th floor. No way she’d survive that.”

Camilla chimed in, “Damian’s idea isn’t bad either. What do you think, Ms. Wallace?”

Simon smirked, “Guess I’ll go ahead and draw Ms. Wallace’s memorial portrait.”

Milena was totally stunned. Her eyes rolled, and she dropped to the floor like a sack of potatoes. She’d been scared out cold.

Both the Saunders family and Cameron were stunned. ‘Seriously? With nerves like that, she actually thought she could hire a hitman?” they wondered.

Camilla turned to Osborne. “Osborne, what now?”

But Osborne looked at Cameron Yates instead. “Cameron, any thoughts?”

Cameron’s eyes were icy as she glared down at Milena, who was lying on the floor. After thinking for a moment, she walked off to the bathroom.

The Saunders family looked at each other in confusion.

‘Did Cameron not hear what Osborne said?’ someone wondered, ‘Why did she just go to the bathroom?”

Just a few seconds later, Cameron came back out. She was carrying a basin of water in her hands.

Under the confused gazes of the Saunders family, she walked straight up to Milena without a word and, with a splash, dumped the entire basin of cold water right over Milena’s head.

Milena sputtered.

The early spring air was still chilly, and the cold water instantly jolted Milena awake. She wiped the water from her face, coughing and shivering from the cold.

Seeing Milena looking so pathetic, Evan gave Cameron a thumbs-up. “Brilliant move, Cam.”

Cameron crossed her arms and stepped aside. “You guys go on.”

Camilla couldn’t help but laugh, “Cam, you’re something else. Brad’s been single all these years. No wonder he’s totally head over heels for you.”

Milena, completely soaked, didn’t care about anything else. She scrambled to her feet and tried to bolt, but Evan kicked her back to the floor.

“Where do you think you’re going? Got a guilty conscience?” Evan sneered.
