Filed to story: When His Wife Can’t Forgive
Noticing his unease, Alicia tried to lighten the mood casually. “It’s normal to have off days, especially after such a busy day. You’re fine now, right?”
Caden didn’t respond. The more he thought about it, the more it bothered him. He replied sarcastically, “Feels like you’re about to give me a pat on the back.”
Alicia let out a soft laugh. After her laughter faded, she rested against his chest and said earnestly, “Caden, really, it’s okay. I wouldn’t mind even if you were impotent.”
Caden looked at her incredulously. “You really have a way of offering comfort.” He couldn’t help but feel skeptical. Her delight when he had become erect again contradicted her assurances.
They made out in the office a bit longer before Caden helped her get dressed, and they left together. The ride home was unusually quiet.
Caden drove silently, preoccupied with thoughts about his brief issue. Meanwhile, Alicia discreetly sought advice on sexual health issues through an anonymous online forum, wondering if she might be contributing to Caden’s problem. After describing the situation, the online expert’s response was as expected. Caden glanced over. “What are you looking at?”
Quickly hiding her phone, Alicia lied, “I’ve been having trouble sleeping, so I asked Monica for some medical advice.”
As Alicia spoke, unease washed over her. Despite knowing how exhausted he had been, she had still initiated intimacy that morning, taking advantage of his sleepy state.
Caden shifted under her gaze. “What’s with that look?” he muttered. “Are you seeing someone else?”
Alicia bit her lip and shook her head. “Let’s get some rest early tonight. You’ve been worn out.”
Caden assumed she was referring to the ongoing chip project. “It’s not that exhausting.”
To make a point, Caden added, “I’m full of energy, so you don’t have to worry about our sex life.”
Alicia just assumed he was acting tough. It was a sensitive subject, so she didn’t press further and acted as if his earlier struggle with erection hadn’t happened.
When Alicia got home, she found Regina still up. “Were there any issues with Scarlette tonight?” Alicia asked.
“No, I just thought you both might be hungry after working late, so I prepared some food,” Regina replied.
Regina was especially skilled at making desserts.
Enticed by the aroma, Alicia said, “I’ll shower first and then eat.”
Regina was about to suggest eating first, but noticing the flush on Alicia’s cheeks, she simply nodded. “Go ahead.”
After Alicia and Caden retired to the bedroom, Regina reflected on their routine. Since she moved in, they consistently returned home late. Was it really due to overtime, or were they avoiding her to maintain privacy in their sex life? This thought made her feel uneasy.
When Alicia emerged from her shower, Regina was ready to serve dessert.
Alicia, spotting the sugar, impulsively added more to her portion.
“Be careful. That might be too sweet,” Regina warned.
“It’s okay. I love it sweet,” Alicia responded, though the extra sugar was really for Caden.
Caden, appearing somewhat resigned, began eating.
Watching him, Alicia asked, “How does it taste?”
“It’s not bad. Quite sweet,” Caden replied casually.
Realizing she might have added too much, Alicia feigned surprise and said, “Oh, did I give you my portion? I tend to add a lot of sugar.”
Caden continued eating, his expression strained as he chewed.
To prevent any misunderstanding, Alicia added, “I didn’t mean anything by it. Sugar helps with energy and circulation. It’s good for you, especially with the late nights you’ve been pulling.”
“True,” Caden replied.
At his lack of complaints, Alicia affectionately patted his head and whispered, “No matter what, I’ll always love you.”
Caden fell silent, absorbing the implications. She’d love him even if he had erection issues at his age. Finishing the dessert, he left with a knot of frustration in his chest, difficult to swallow or articulate.
That night, both Caden and Alicia lay awake, each lost in their thoughts, unable to sleep.
The next morning, Caden kissed Alicia goodbye as usual before heading to the office.
Meanwhile, Regina voiced her desire to move out to Alicia.
Respecting Regina’s decision and considering taking a break from work to focus on Scarlette, Alicia arranged a private tour for Regina, hoping she’d enjoy the getaway.
After Regina departed, Caden took the initiative to hire a skilled cook and a top-tier nanny, ensuring Alicia could dedicate herself to Scarlette’s upbringing without feeling overwhelmed.
That evening, when Caden returned, Alicia had just left the bedroom.
“Is Scarlette asleep?” Caden asked casually while washing his hands.
Alicia nodded, noticing a faint whiff of alcohol on him. “Did you have a business dinner?”
“No. I just had a few drinks with Gerry. He always shares his good liquor with me, but he can’t handle more than one glass, so I ended up finishing it for him.”
Caden dried his hands and naturally embraced Alicia. Having the house to themselves felt different. They could be as carefree as before, free to have sex whenever and wherever they wanted.
“Is the alcohol smell strong? Does it bother you?” Caden asked. He hadn’t drunk much in the past two years and was unsure if Alicia was accustomed to it.
Alicia snuggled deeper into his embrace, inhaling deeply. “No, I like your scent.” He always smelled appealing to her. With the added hint of alcohol, it was as heady as an aphrodisiac.
Caden felt a familiar desire stir within him.
Since their encounter in the office, Alicia had insisted Caden abstain from sex to recuperate, and he had agreed. Consequently, they hadn’t been intimate since. Occasionally, when his desires peaked, he would tease her just enough to leave her wanting and then withdraw teasingly, with a touch of cruelty.
Caden cupped her chin, his lips hovering near hers.
Alicia instinctively parted her lips, eager to taste his.
Caden’s gaze deepened, his thumb gently stroking her cheek. “Do you want to taste how good the wine is tonight?”
Alicia’s eyes sparkled as she nodded softly. “I do.” The sweetness of the wine lingered on Caden’s lips and tongue, delicious and heady. Yet, Caden’s kiss was intense, even biting her, leaving Alicia with a mix of pain and pleasure, her eyes glistening with tears.
After the kiss, Alicia met his slightly flushed gaze, sensing his restraint. She said, “Scarlette is sleeping well. She only wakes once for milk and sleeps long after. It’s still early. We don’t have to sleep just yet, right?”
At her subtle suggestion, a hint of amusement flickered in Caden’s eyes. Despite their long acquaintance and frequent intimacy, she was still shy about her desires. She could easily have been more direct, even going as far as to undress him.
But Caden harbored a slight grudge. She had questioned his sexual capability and insisted he abstain from sex to recover. As a man accustomed to indulgence, he had restrained himself for nearly half a month. Having tolerated the initial challenging days, he was not prepared to let this pass without retribution.
Caden held Alicia’s gaze effortlessly, his eyes never straying from her face. “I really have nothing planned tonight,” he said.
Caden’s features were impeccable, each movement exuding a captivating steadiness that was attractive yet not frivolous. Alicia admired this about him. She licked her lips and suggested, “Let’s take a shower. It’s dark already.”
Caden chuckled quietly to himself but maintained a straight face as he wrapped an arm around her waist, guiding her to the bathroom. Today, when he mentioned a shower, he meant it quite literally.
Caden turned on the shower as soon as they entered. “Do you want to soak for a bit or just shower?” he asked.
Alicia was dumbfounded. Internally, she screamed that she hadn’t wanted a shower at all! Before, as they entered the bathroom, he had kissed her thoroughly. Why the sudden restraint now?
Alicia couldn’t understand his motives. His response to their earlier kissing had been intense, yet now he seemed disinterested. Could it be that he was having difficulties performing?
With this thought, Alicia glanced subtly at his crotch.
Just then, Caden stood straight, catching her covert look. “What’s up?” he inquired.
Alicia averted her eyes, too embarrassed to speak. “Nothing. Let’s start with a shower.”
Caden nodded earnestly, quickly stripping off his clothes.
As Alicia slowly unbuttoned her shirt, she said, “By the way, have you been taking those supplements diligently? How’s that going?” Though she knew what she wanted to ask, Caden answered in a different way, “Not bad. I can walk faster than I drive now.”
Alicia was speechless. Not wanting to delay further and feeling more embarrassed by the minute, she gathered her courage and said, “Caden, I want to do it tonight.”
Caden suppressed a grin. “Do what?” He played dumb.
Alicia gave him a meaningful look. “You know what.”
“Exactly?”
Alicia said nothing, internally fuming that he was such a bastard.
Alicia was exasperated. “Just tell me if you’re going to do it or not.”
Caden couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’ve been neglecting you, I know. But remember, I’m not in the best shape. I haven’t finished the three courses of medicine you recommended. The doctor you introduced suggested I shouldn’t overexert myself, so I’ve even skipped the gym lately.”
Alicia’s lips twitched as she eyed his well-defined chest and ripped abs. And he claimed he hadn’t been to the gym? She suspected he was teasing her deliberately, but since she had recommended the supplements, she felt she couldn’t complain. With an air of frustration, she removed her pants. “Forget it. I’ll just take care of myself after the shower.”
Caden nearly laughed out loud. He teased, “Let me help. My fingers are longer than yours.”
Alicia kicked at him playfully. “Get lost. I don’t want to shower with you. Use the guest bathroom.”
But Caden wouldn’t leave her side. He playfully lifted her onto his lap, giving her a mock scrub before finally settling her into the bathtub.
Alicia muttered a curse under her breath. If he wasn’t going to be intimate with her, he shouldn’t turn her on with caressing. How could someone be so infuriating? She wondered if their daughter would inherit his mischievousness, making her future pursuers heartbroken. Alicia relaxed in the warm water, closing her eyes to calm herself. She reminded herself that sex was wonderful but shouldn’t be something to get addicted to.
After his shower, Caden joined her in the bathtub, tinkering with the scented candles on the shelf. “What scent do you want tonight?”
Alicia opened her eyes slowly. “Jasmine.”
Her attention sharpened suddenly. In Caden’s hand was a condom.
Following her focused gaze, Caden looked down, feigning surprise, and said, “Oh, I thought I grabbed the lighter. How did I end up with a condom?”
Alicia’s expression hardened. “I’m warning you, enough with the teasing.” How could he mistake a lighter for a condom?
Caden replied casually, “What’s wrong with my mistake? Everyone makes mistakes.”
I really wish they have a son . But I extremely disappointed they end up with daughter .
