Cameron looked confused. “Why?”

“You can wear them again tomorrow when I take you home,” Bradley said.

Cameron put the shoes back down, and they headed to the boat together.

Even though it was already May, the night air still carried a chill. When the sea breeze picked up, Cameron couldn’t help but shiver.

The next moment, warmth enveloped her shoulders. She stopped walking and glanced over to see a beautiful red plaid shawl draped across her shoulders, its soft tassels dancing gracefully in the night wind.

“It gets cold at night,” Bradley said simply.

He’d made time to buy it during lunch today, even asking his sister, Camilla Saunders, what style girls usually liked before settling on this one.

“Thank you.” Warmth spread through Cameron’s body and settled in her heart.

Bradley went to buy two boat tickets. He stepped onto the boat first, and when a wave hit, the vessel rocked slightly. He reached out his hand to

Cameron. “Cam, come on.”

Cameron hesitated momentarily, but finally placed her hand in his warm, steady palm

Bradley’s hand was warm while hers felt cool, so he tightened his grip and pulled her aboard.

Once they were both on deck, Bradley let go of her hand. “It’s pretty cold tonight. Let’s head inside the cabin,” Bradley suggested.

The cabin had a lounge area, a drink station, and a dining section. They made their way to the drink station and ordered two coffees.

Cameron wrapped her shawl around herself and gazed out toward the horizon. The waves looked rough tonight. It was probably going to rain.

Bradley quietly studied Cameron’s stunning profile. ‘Cam is charming,’ he thought. ‘The kind of beauty I can’t even put into words. She’s everything I find attractive rolled into one person.’

Cameron turned back and caught Bradley staring at her with complete adoration in his eyes. Their gazes locked.

Cameron’s heart skipped a beat. She looked down and took a sip of her coffee.

The boat was crowded and noisy. Without saying a word, both Cameron and Bradley agreed that conversation could wait.

Bradley’s eyes never left Cameron’s face for the entire boat ride.

When they reached the island, Bradley couldn’t help but marvel. “That was fast.”

Cameron shook her head. “Actually, we were about ten minutes slower than usual.”

She figured it was because of the waves, and the captain probably didn’t want to push it too hard.

Bradley smiled, “Really?”

Cameron stood up and smoothed down her dress.”Brad, I’m home. Thanks for giving me a ride. You should head back now.”

Bradley helped Cameron off the boat, then stood on the deck waving goodbye.

Cameron waved back, pulled her shawl tighter around her shoulders, and walked away.

The sky opened up with torrential rain when Cameron stepped inside her house.

Jacqueline rushed over. “This rain came out of nowhere. Cam, you didn’t get caught in it, did you?”

Cameron shook her head. “Lucky timing. I made it just in time.”

Jacqueline’s eyes caught the fabric draped over Cameron’s shoulders. “That’s a gorgeous shawl. I don’t think I’ve seen you wear it before.”

“A friend gave it to me,” Cameron said simply.

“What friend?” Levi glanced up from his iPad, where he’d been scrolling through new

Cameron kept her tone light. “Dad, just a friend.”

Levi’s expression remained unreadable as he exchanged a meaningful look with Jacqueline.

“Cam, you’re back?” Gavin’s voice called from the doorway.

“I thought you left? Oh my God, Gavin, you’re soaked!” Jacqueline quickly motioned for someone to bring towels.

Gavin rubbed his dripping hair with the towel. “It started pouring, so they shut down the ferry service. I had to come back.” He’d been planning to visit a friend in Viremont.

Cameron’s attention sharpened. “They shut down the ferry?”

Her heart skipped. ‘What about Brad?’

Gavin nodded. “The waves out there are too rough, so all the boats have stopped running

“What about the p people on the boots?” Cameron asked.

“They all got off. Nobody’s crazy enough to stay on board in weather like this Gavin explained

Cameron’s brow furrowed with concem. “Gavin, you’re soaked to take a hot shower before you catch a cold

Gavin’s face lit up at her concern. “Okay”

“Mom, Dad, I’m heading to my room too, Cameron announced.

Back in het room, Cameron immediately called Bradley

Bradley was just as drenched at that moment as Gavin had been-completely soaked to the bone. He ducked into the nearest dock and grabbed a towel and an umbrella. convenience store

Bradley quickly toweled off the raingater from his clothes and pulled out his phone to search for nearby hotels. Looks like I’m stuck on this land for the night, he thought

The island had really developed into a full-fledged destination over the years. Everything was expensive, but it was a great tourist spot.

Bradley by found a hotel listing pretty quickly, but they were completely booked when he called. He tried another one-same story, fully booked.

With the sudden downpour, everyone was scrambling for a place to stay, so it made sense that all the hotels near the dock were sold out.

Just as Bradley was about to call a third hotel, Cameron’s call came through. A smile fugged at his lips as he immediately swiped to answer “Hey, Can”

“Brad, where are you right now?” Cameron got straight to the point.

“I’m near the dock. This crazy rainstorm hit out of nowhere, and the boats can’t leave, so I’m stuck here overnight.”

“Have you found a hotel yet?”

“Still looking” Bradley replied.

Cameron fell silent. The island had become a total Instagram hotspot these days, with tourists Hooding every day

During peak season, practically every hotel was booked solid-people couldn’t find a room anywhere.

Plenty of tourists who struck out on hotels would just pitch tents and camp out, but with tonight’s weather, mping was definitely off the table

The recent good weather had made the island gorgeous, drawing massive crowds. Now, a violent storm was tearing through outside,

Cameron figured Bradley would have zero luck finding a room. She stayed quiet for a long moment before saying, “Brad, send me your WhatsApp: I’m coming to get you.” lection on

“Coming to get ma?” Bradley instinctively planced outside at the trees getting thrashed around by the wind and shook his head. “Cam, it’s pouring out there. You absolutely cannot go outside-it’s way too dangerous.”

“I’m picking you u up and bringing you back to my place,” Cameron said.

Bradley just stared at his phone. “Back to Her place! This fast? We’re not officially dating yet, and I’m already meeting her family? He was sure he’d heard

“Brad, send me your location,” Cameron saki. She hang up right after that

Bradley stared at his phone screen as it went black, and he couldn’t help but smile a title “Maybe Cam’s letting me come over her and accept me?

Pradley hadn’t sent his location yet, so Cameron sent another message. [Brad, location)

That was when Bradley finally shared his location with Cameron

Cameron: [On my way]

Bradley: [Cool, I wait for you)

Bradley stood in the convenience store, thinking about how this was his first time meeting Cameron’s family He should probably bring somerbing Bot honestly, there wasn’t much worth giving in this little store.

Cameron hurried downstairs and grabbed a set of car keys.

“Cam, are you heading out?” Jacqueline stood up.
