Filed to story: That Campus Prince Is a Girl
For once, Bradley’s relationship could finally be accepted by their family and the whole world.
But when Eddie came home for winter break, he found out that their family, pushed by their adopted daughter, Nell, had tricked Bradley into undergoing deep hypnosis, They wiped every memory he had of Cameron and shipped him off overseas for school.
Eddie had been so angry that he’d nearly lost his mind.
Cameron was a girl, and Brad had told them the moment he found out.
“Why didn’t they trust Brad? Why would they believe Nell over their own son?’ Eddie fumed.
Later, Eddie slammed the proof that Cameron was a girl right in front of his family.
That was when regret finally hit them.
But by then, nothing could change what had happened.
After that, Eddie didn’t even dare go back to Stellanford University. He just kept himself overseas as an exchange student, all because he was scared of running into Cameron. He had no idea how he’d ever face her, or how to explain everything about Bradley.
Years had gone by.
Unexpectedly, Bradley and Cameron ran into each other again after all this time.
But things were nothing like they used to be.
Seeing Eddie fall silent, Bradley asked, “Eddie, is there something wrong with my memory?”
Eddie stayed silent.
“Eddie?” Bradley called softly.
At last, Eddie looked at him with those melancholy eyes and shook his head. “Brad, I don’t want to lie to you. Please, don’t ask me.
Bradley frowned.
Eddie’s reaction said it all. Bradley already had his answer.
“Eddie, there’s really something wrong with my memory, isn’t there? Do you know what actually happened back then?” Bradley pressed, his voice tense.
Eddie stayed silent for a long moment before finally saying, “Brad, just drop it. Even if you know your memory’s been tampered with, there’s nothing you can do about it now.”
Bradley frowned.
Eddie added, “If you really want to know what happened back then, go ask Mom.”
The real mastermind, Nell, was already dead.
There was no point in asking anymore.
“My memory issues are related to Mom?” Bradley’s frown deepened.
Eddie shook his head. “Brad, it’s not Mom’s fault. She was just brainwashed by Nell. You can’t blame her.”
“Nell? Didn’t she die in a mental hospital?” Bradley was even more confused.
Nell Crowsby was originally named Nell Saunders.
Before she turned twenty, she was the apple of the Saunders family’s eye-their youngest and only daughter, spoiled with everything she ever wanted.
Nathan and Beth doted on her so much that they would become utterly distressed even if she sneezed a bit.
But when Nell hit twenty, her whole world turned upside down.
One day, the Saunders saw a minor celebrity named Camilla Crowsby on TV. They were shocked by how much she resembled Beth in her youth.
After looking into it, they found out that Camilla was actually the real daughter of their family.
Back then, Nell’s mother and Beth had given birth in the same hospital room.
Seeing how wealthy Beth looked, Nell’s mother maliciously swapped the two baby girls.
So, Nell ended up becoming the heiress of the Saunders’ family
Meanwhile, the real heiress, Camilla, was taken back to a remote village by Nell’s mother, where she was barely given enough to eat.
Camilla had been mistreated, growing up only thanks to the neighbors who pitched in to help her get by.
She made it to high school, but with no money left, she had no choice but to drop out.
Thanks to her good looks, she got her foot in the door of showbiz.
But with no money or connections, she was stuck as a nobody in the industry.
That was until the Saunders family spotted her on TV and rushed to bring her home.
They even donated a ton of money and resources to Steerfall Royal Academy of Arts, pulling some strings to get her in as a freshman.
From then on, all the Saunders family’s affection was poured onto Camilla.
Even the seven brothers, who had never liked Nell, spoiled Camilla to an outrageous extent.
Nell was driven mad with jealousy and schemed against Camilla again and again.
In the end, she was locked away in a mental hospital and met a miserable death.
Just hearing Nell’s name was enough to make the Saunders curse their bad luck.
Eddie shook his head. “Brad, I have nothing more to say.”
Bradley was speechless.
Since Eddie didn’t want to say anything, Bradley let it go and didn’t press further.
He stood up and patted Eddie on the shoulder. “Eddie, you’ve been single for years now. It’s all in the past. Time to move on and start a new life.”
Eddie just shook his head lightly.
A new life?
Eddie knew exactly what Bradley was getting at.
He thought to himself, “Someone as filthy as me… Do I even deserve to be with a girl that pure?’
Bradley didn’t plan to disturb Beth. After all, it was already late.
Early the next morning, after breakfast, everyone in the house headed out-some to school, some to work.
After Beth saw everyone off, she realized Bradley was still at home, not having left for work.
“Not a busy day?” Beth asked with a smile as she walked over to him.
Bradley said calmly, “Not today.”
Beth smiled. “Since you’re not busy, why not go out and enjoy yourself?”
Bradley said, “Mom, I want to ask you something.”
Beth sat down beside him. She suddenly had a bad feeling.
Bradley got straight to the point. “Mom, do you know Cameron Wallace?”
Beth froze, her eyes wide in shock.
“The truth really can’t stay hidden forever,’ Beth thought to herself. ‘Brad found out after all.’
Her eyes instantly turned red with guilt as she spoke. “Brad, I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault for believing Nell’s lies. You clearly told me you liked girls, but I still took you to get that deep hypnosis…”
Bradley frowned. “Mom, I really don’t get it. What does me liking girls have to do with you taking me to get hypnotized?”
Beth looked guilty. “Brad, it was my mistake. You were so determined about Cameron, even willing to cut ties with the family. I thought you really liked guys. I had no idea Cameron was actually a girl pretending to be a boy…”
“So, I liked Cameron. She was pretending to be a guy, and you all thought I was into men? To keep me away from her, you took me for deep hypnosis and wiped out all my memories of her?” Bradley asked.
Piecing together Beth’s words with what Jackson had told him, he quickly figured out the whole story.
Beth looked ashamed, her eyes red as she apologized. “I’m sorry, Brad.”
But now, it was already too late to apologize.
Beth had once thought about making up for her mistake.
