Jolene was too elated to notice that something was off with him. She was conflicted, as she felt happy yet dismayed at the same time. At the end of the day, Danika’s words were more effective.

Shaking her head, Jolene decided that whomever James liked no longer had anything to do with her since she was leaving. She went back to her room to pack and left without hesitation. Worried that James might change his mind in the next second, Jolene walked away from the villa hurriedly.

James didn’t go downstairs to see her off. He just stood on the balcony and called the bodyguards downstairs, instructing them to let her go. He stood on the balcony watching Jolene leave with her luggage, getting farther and farther away from him until she disappeared completely.

He gave a low roar and kicked the pillar nearby, mad beyond belief.

She’d said she loved him, yet she left so decisively. It was a solid testament to show that the world was full of liars.

The news of Jolene moving out of James’ villa spread throughout Bardoff City the next day. People were naturally not concerned about Jolene but rather about James’ situation, as he was one of the few eligible bachelors in Bardoff City.

Due to a series of unsuccessful blind dates, there had been speculations that James might have feelings for Jolene. But now, considering that Jolene had moved out, all doubts were completely dispelled.

Although many wealthy young ladies had been rejected by James, at this moment, there were even more of them who wanted to get closer to him.

You’re Helping Her?

When news of it reached Danika’s ears, her anxious heart finally settled. Fortunately, things were not as bad as she had imagined. She didn’t pay much attention to the matter after that. In her opinion, as long as Jolene left, the matter was considered over.

She continued to work diligently at Bardoff Hospital. After some time in the hospital, she had slowly built up her reputation. Now, there were quite a few people who came to her for treatment every day, and Danika had once again found a sense of accomplishment of her own.

After a busy day, she was exhausted. She changed her clothes and walked out of the hospital, intending to go back early and rest. However, she didn’t expect to see Flint, who hadn’t shown up for the past few days, waiting for her today.

It was not that Danika had seen a picture of him beforehand. Flint wore a black tracksuit and stood right before the hospital entrance, making his presence known. It was easy to guess who he was since he was being so obvious about it. Danika would be a fool if she couldn’t deduce the identity of the person before her.

“You must be Danika?” The man in black had obviously done some research beforehand as he recognized Danika at a glance.

Danika nodded and asked tentatively, “Are you Flint, Melissa’s senior?”

“Yeah, where is Melissa? I heard that she disappeared after challenging you, ” Flint said, keeping his eyes trained on Danika.

“Don’t say it like that; others would think I did something to her. She’s doing well and living a carefree life now.” Danika thought Melissa was indeed living a carefree life, with a new job and a good living situation. She was in a much better state than before.

Flint didn’t seem to genuinely care about Melissa’s current situation and quickly got to the point. “I came to find you for a reason, and I believe you know why. Choose somewhere. Running away won’t help.”

Running away? Danika was speechless. Where had she run off to? Wasn’t she waiting for him to show up all these days?

She concluded that even disciples taught by the same master could be very different.

This person was obviously not as likable as Melissa.

“Fine, come with me.” Danika didn’t want to waste time. It was just a fight— she wasn’t intimidated by the man one bit.

With that, Danika led Flint to the underground parking lot. There was rarely anyone there, and Danika chose a corner where people wouldn’t easily see them.

Before the two could start, Melissa appeared out of nowhere. “Flint, let’s talk this through. Is there really a need to fight?”

Seeing her appear, Flint was first startled, but then he understood what was going on.

“It seems you’ve been subdued. No wonder you haven’t been in touch with me,” he said with a sneer.

“What do you mean by being subdued? I’ve found myself a new boss. Danika treats me very well. So, I can’t stand by and watch you bully her,” Melissa said as she walked over to stand beside Danika, indicating her alliance clearly.

Flint furrowed his brow. He knew of Melissa’s skills and knew he might not have the upper hand in a fight with her alone. If the two of them teamed up against him, he wasn’t sure about his chances of winning.

Frowning, he asked, “Are you going to help her deal with me?”

“Danika is my boss now. Of course I have to help her,’ Melissa said with a smile.

Flint’s expression darkened as Melissa continued, “Flint, if we join hands, you might not win. Maybe you should just give up. Your relationship with Jonathan isn’t that great anyway.”

The relationships among the fellow disciples who trained under Olanna were quite average, and it wasn’t to the extent that they would stick up for each other.

Upon hearing that, Flint didn’t give up on his challenge but instead looked straight at

Danika and said, “Since that’s the case, I’ll be honest. The reason why I agreed to help Alicia deal with you is not just because of Jonathan.”

“What are you after then?”

Before Danika could ask, Melissa beat her to it, curiosity evident in her voice.

Who Won?

Flint rolled his eyes at her and said, “As martial artists, we value the reputation of our masters the most. Your defeating both Jonathan and Melissa successively has brought great shame to us. My main purpose of coming here is to uphold my master’s dignity!”

As for avenging Jonathan, it was secondary. In his opinion, Jonathan was inferior in skill, and if he died, he could only blame it on his lackluster skills. Revenge wasn’t strictly necessary. But the problem was Danika defeated Jonathan and then Melissa.

Wouldn’t that mean Tywin Munster’s disciple was stronger than Olanna Roy’s disciples?

Danika thought, “How was I supposed to know that was what you were thinking? If you come looking for trouble, I can’t just sit around and wait to get my ass kicked, can I?”

Melissa didn’t expect Flint to harbor such thoughts, so she was immediately irritated upon hearing his words. “Flint! Do you think you’re the spokesperson for our master?

Master hasn’t even spoken up yet, so why are you sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong?”

“Master is naturally too busy to bother with these things. As your senior, of course I have to take care of it.” Not only did he have to take matters into his own hands, but he also had to win against Danika to uphold his master’s integrity.

Seeing that the two of them were about to get into a fight, Danika pulled Melissa aside and said, “Alright, you wait here. I’ll handle Flint.”

“No, I have to help you! Let’s beat him to the ground and defeat him completely!”

Melissa was all riled up and found Flint extremely annoying at that moment. The feeling was mutual for Flint. If the situation allowed it, he would have taught Melissa a lesson first, as she was too infuriating.

Danika held her back helplessly. “Actually, it’s normal for Flint to have such thoughts.

You keep watch from the side. I know what to do.”

Putting herself in Flint’s shoes, Danika knew although she wouldn’t come looking for trouble as he did, she would probably be unhappy about the damage to her master’s reputation. Since the other party came looking for her to settle the score, there was no harm in duking it out.

Before starting, Danika felt it was necessary to clarify something. “If I defeat you, will there be other disciples who’ll come after me?” If that were the case, she would have an endless amount of opponents to deal with.

“Don’t worry, regardless of your win or loss, no one will trouble you in the future,” Flint promised.

Danika nodded, feeling relieved. “Alright then, let’s begin.”

Melissa was forced to stand aside and watch the two fight. She wasn’t too worried, though. Since it was just a fight between two martial artists, they probably wouldn’t go for the kill. At most, there would be some injuries, which were way better than what she had originally anticipated.

Not far away, Danika and Flint had already started fighting. Melissa was bored and took out her phone. She’d found a very interesting novel last night, and now was the perfect time to continue reading. However, she’d barely read a couple of chapters before someone walked up to her and patted her shoulder.

“Stop reading. Let’s go back.”

Melissa snapped out of it and looked up at Danika, who was in front of her, then at Flint, who was standing not far away. She was quite perplexed. “Is it over?”

“Yeah, it’s over.” Danika nodded.

Melissa was even more baffled now. The fight ended faster than her previous duel with Danika.

“Who won?” she asked.

“Flint won,” Danika stated simply.

Melissa looked at Flint and wondered, “Did he really win? Why doesn’t he look happy about it at all?”

As they were talking, Flint had already walked over to them. He looked at Danika with a complicated expression.

“Are you looking down on me? You didn’t give it your all,” he said, displeased.

Danika waved her hands around in denial repeatedly. “Don’t misunderstand. I was really no match for you.”

While it was true that she didn’t go all out, it was because she knew that even if she did, she wouldn’t be a match for Flint. Since that was the case, there was no need to take things too far; it was fine to stop after exchanging a few blows.

He’s Strange

Flint took a deep look at her but didn’t say anything else. “Let’s call it a draw this time. Neither of us won.”

Danika was about to refuse, but Flint didn’t wait for her to speak and had already walked toward the parking lot exit.

Seeing him walk away, Danika was speechless. “Has he always been like this?”

“Do you find him strange?” Melissa asked as she looked in the direction of the retreating Flint.

Danika nodded. “He’s a little strange indeed, but he’s not as bad as you make him out to be.”

Melissa shrugged. She couldn’t really tell what was going on in Flint’s mind. Seeing that the matter was over without causing too much commotion, she breathed a sigh of relief.

“Anyway, I’m glad we didn’t get into an ugly fight with Flint. It’s a pity I didn’t have a chance to make a move.”

As soon as she finished speaking, her phone rang. Melissa glanced at her phone screen and found it was a call from the bar’s management. She answered the call and listened to the person on the other end explain the situation. Her expression immediately fell.

“What? Someone came to cause trouble? I’m coming over now. I have to teach those little brats a lesson.”

After hanging up, she turned to look at Danika and got ready to leave. ‘I’ll go back first. You be careful these days. If Flint comes to find you again, remember to inform me about it.”

“Did something happen at the bar?” Danika asked.

“It’s nothing major, just a few little brats who like to come and make a scene. I held back and didn’t do anything to them the first time. I have to teach them a lesson today.” Those youngsters needed to be dealt with, as they were getting too arrogant.

“Do you need my help?” Danika asked.
