Filed to story: That Campus Prince Is a Girl

Xander was so worked up that everything went black, and he just passed out on the spot. His roommates rushed to catch him.

Luckily, he woke up pretty quickly. But he just sat there in a daze, his eyes completely lifeless.

After thinking it over, his roommates ended up secretly calling Xander’s parents and gave them a rough idea of what was going on.

Logan and Gwen thanked the roommates, asked his counselor for leave, and brought Xander back home to the Murphy family. He was in no state to go to school.

After lunch, Cameron got a WhatsApp message from Bradley. [It’s been three days. Have you made up your mind?]

Cameron held her phone, thinking for a moment.

Right now, she was sitting in the living room with the TV on, her parents, her brothers all there, everyone laughing and chatting. The whole place felt so warm and full of life.

Cameron thought to herself, ‘I really don’t need some lovey-dovey romance right now.’ She was content with her life just the way it was.

After a few minutes, Cameron finally replied to Bradley. [Brad, sorry. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with you, I just don’t want to be in a relationship right now.]

Bradley: [Are you rejecting me?]

Cameron: [Sorry.]

Bradley: [Cameron, if you’re going to turn me down, at least do it to my face.]

Cameron was stunned for a moment and wondered, ‘Reject him to his face? A rejection is a rejection. Does it really matter how I say it?”

Bradley: [Cameron, if you don’t say no to me in person, I’ll just take it as a yes.]

Cameron: [Brad, where are you right now?)

Bradley: [I finish my finals this afternoon. After that, I’ll head back to Silvermoss Castle and wait for you.)

Cameron thought for a second, then replied: [Okay.]

Cameron looked at her family. “Mom, Dad, a classmate asked me to hang out. I’m heading out for a bit.”

“Was it a guy or a girl who asked you out?” Gavin asked.

Cameron smiled, “Of course, it’s a girl classmate.”

Lance grinned, “Cam, Gavin’s just worried some guy will run off with you.”

Cameron forced a smile.

Jacqueline Yates asked, “Will you be back tonight?”

Cameron nodded. “Yeah, I’ll be home tonight.”

Elijah rarely checked his phone. School was already out for the holidays. He was home alone, bored out of his mind.

He thought about messaging Cameron, but worried he might just be bothering her.

Elijah opened up their chat window and stared at it for a long time, his fingers hovering over the keyboard. In the end, he just sighed and closed it without sending a single word.

He opened up Instagram, and right away, Austin’s latest post popped up on his feed.

On Austin’s Instagram post, Bradley liked it and commented. [Thanks for the well wishes.]

Xander bombarded the comments. [Austin, is Cameron with Bradley? Who told you that? Who told you that?]

Elijah couldn’t believe his eyes. ‘Cameron and Brad are together? Since when did that happen?’ he wondered, completely caught off guard.

Back then, when Elijah confessed, Cameron had told him she wasn’t looking to date anyone.

‘Was that just an excuse to turn me down?’ Elijah thought, a bitter realization dawning on him. ‘And I actually bought it. How naive could I be? Or maybe Austin got it wrong?’

He stared at the Instagram post for a long time, his heart aching dully and heavily.

In the end, he backed out and opened his chat with Cameron.

Elijah: [Cameron, are you with Brad? Congratulations.]

A bitter smile tugged at his lips.

‘Congratulations? I didn’t mean a word of it,’ Elijah thought, the words tasting like ash. ‘But really, what else can I do except wish her happiness?’

All he could do was wish them well.

When Cameron received Elijah’s WhatsApp message, the helicopter was just landing on the Yates family’s helipad.

She went to get her car. Seeing Elijah’s message, she couldn’t help but chuckle. Even Elijah got the wrong idea.

She didn’t explain to Austin or Xander because she didn’t want them bothering her again.

Cameron replied: [No, Elijah. You saw Austin’s Instagram post, right? He kept pestering me, so I just said I had a boyfriend. He jumped to the conclusion that it was Brad all on his own.]

When Elijah read her reply, his dull eyes instantly lit up. A smile spread across his face. ‘So it was just a misunderstanding,’ he thought, relief flooding through him.

He pressed a hand to his chest and let out a soft breath.

Elijah: [I thought you were with Brad. So it was just a misunderstanding after all. Our school’s on break too. If you’re free, want to hang out?]

Cameron: [Sorry, Elijah. I already made plans with Brad for tonight.]

She was planning to reject Bradley today. If not for that, she could have invited Elijah along too.

“Brad?” Elijah murmured under his breath, a bit confused. He remembered that Bradley had hit like on Austin’s Instagram post.

‘Wait? Does Brad have a thing for Cameron too?’ Elijah thought, a wave of suspicion washing over him.

Elijah was at a complete loss for words. Cameron really was outstanding. But Bradley was his best friend. If Bradley wanted to chase all he wasn’t about to give up without a fight. They could keep it fair and square. ameron, too,

Elijah: [Can I come along with you two?]

Cameron: [Elijah, it might be a little awkward.] wkward.]

Elijah stared at Cameron’s message, his brow furrowing slightly.

‘Not convenient, huh?’ he thought, feeling a pang of disappointment. ‘What do Cameron and Brad have to talk about, anyway?”

Since Cameron had already turned him down, Elijah wasn’t going to shamelessly invite himself along.

Elijah: [Alright.]

Cameron headed straight for Silvermoss Castle. The only people left inside were two cleaners.

Cameron sent Bradley a message on WhatsApp. [Brad, I’m here.]

Bradley: [Alright. Head on in. We’ll have dinner together tonight. If you have any dinner requests, just let the kitchen know.]

Cameron was at a loss for words. All she wanted was to clear things up with Bradley in person. Looked like she’d have to stick around the castle for a while. Someone opened the door for Cameron.

“Thanks,” she said.

Cameron stepped into the living room. The heat was on, making the room cozy and warm.

Cameron ended up waiting for Bradley for two whole hours. It was already dark out when Bradley finally came back.

He was wearing a black cashmere coat that made his tall figure look even more striking.

Bradley took off his coat with a casual motion, revealing a dark gray sweater underneath. “Been waiting long?” His tone was as gentle as ever.

Cameron lounged lazily on the sofa. The living room was nice and warm, so she hadn’t bothered with a coat-just a simple black sweater.

She used to bind her chest, so everyone just assumed she was flat-chested. But that wasn’t true at all.

Cameron actually had a fantastic figure, her curves smooth and graceful. She glanced back at Bradley. “You done?”

“Sorry about that,” Bradley said, his gaze lingering on her for a few seconds, his eyes growing a shade darker before finally settling on her face. “I had to swing by the law firm after the exam.”

Cameron stood up. “Brad, I came here because I wanted to talk to you face-to-face-“

“Wait a sec,” Bradley cut in, making a time-out gesture. “Cameron, can you let me grab something to eat first?”

Cameron was stunned for a moment.

Just then, the butler stepped out, smiling warmly. “Mr. Saunders, Miss Yates, dinner is ready.”

“Can we talk while we eat?” Bradley asked, looking a bit tired.
