His response to being woken, when still really tired, was a very grumpy “f**k off, Holden.”
Holden nudged him, “Come on man, I’m sorry…but my Mate Bond is on the line here.”
“What?” he’d muttered.
“I insulted the Luna unwittingly, and she’s demanding I apologise or she’ll not let me claim my Mate.”
Jeremy laughed into his pillow, of course he would find it funny. “You just go from one drama to another don’t you big fella.” he rolled over and sat up with a yawn “Man the goddess, must be really pissed off, at you.”
“Can you get up please…i have managed to wrangle a mating alliance. If the Luna will accept my apology, that is”
Jeremy snorted with laughter “Won’t go willingly still I see.”
“I don’t know, I actually haven’t spoken to her about it, was asked by the Alpha to stay away from her, at the Luna’s orders. And with Luna Lindy ready to toss me, out on my a*s, I stayed away. I didn’t even know a Luna, could have and Alpha tossed out of a pack, but apparently they can. So this is the quickest way to get my Mate, to our pack.”
“Hmm, you know you’ll have to actually, follow the terms of the mating alliance.”
“Yes I do.” he nodded, but how bad could it be, just a mating agreement.
“All of it Holden. For the rest of your life.” Jeremy was staring up at him now.
“Yes Jeremy, I’m well aware of what a mating alliance is, and how they work.”
“Just so we’re clear…how’d you offend the Luna?”
“I didn’t know I had actually…til she was suddenly yelling at me, about her pack and demanding I show her respect.”
“Goddess Holden, now you didn’t go calling her, just a woman, did you.”
“Pretty much.”
Jeremy sighed, “How many times, have you seen Luna’s and their Mate’s doting on them?”
Holden sighed heavily ‘A few I guess.”
“A few?” Jeremy rubbed a hand over his face “You know your family, your father has really screwed your views up right?”
“Apparently so…Did you know there’s a Luna’s Library here?”
“I did, every pack has one bar ours. My grandmother still lives you know, all secluded up north, but is a mountain of information, perhaps you need to speak with her.”
Holden could only nod his head “Probably a good idea. Organise it when we get back huh.”
“Sure thing. Your such a dumb a*s sometimes. You know that right.”
Holden put a boot into him and shove him off the bed “get dressed and I’ll let that one slide, huh.”
Jeremy just laughed.
Luna Lindy walked into the office, didn’t even acknowledge his presence at all, walked right over to her Mate and pecked him on the cheek “Am I late? I forgot, sorry love.”
Oh she hadn’t forgot.
“It’s alright love. Things get forgotten sometimes, when one is busy with their other Luna duties.”
“Mm, I am very busy most of the time.” she’d smiled right at him.
Holden knew the two of them were indirectly insulting him, with their conversation. He held his tongue, he needed this meeting to go well. Needed the Luna happy and open to acceptance of his apology. He just stood and waited till she actually acknowledged his presence in the room. It was all he could do. didn’t like it but had to tollerate it.
He’d dressed in black slacks and a white dress shirt, it was the only formal clothing he had, since Rip had destroyed his formal suit, his favourite suit at that.
‘Our Mate was in trouble, they’re just clothes.’
“My favourite clothes and yes I am aware she needed us.’
‘No time for you to take them off, you’re to slow.’
