Filed to story: When His Wife Can’t Forgive
Alicia took a deep breath, trying to push past the strange sensation in her chest.
“Alright, let’s do this.”
Despite herself, she couldn’t help but reflect on how much things had changed. She never imagined that one day, men would be prescribed as part of a treatment.
Alicia followed the psychologist into the bright, sterile room, the soft hum of the overhead lights filling the silence. The hospital was well-known for its impeccable reputation, with security stationed on every floor. This sense of safety allowed Alicia to relax and lie down comfortably on the reclined chair.
A nurse approached and softly placed a blindfold over Alicia’s eyes. Alicia frowned, her voice laced with confusion.
“Is this really necessary?”
The nurse’s voice was calm and reassuring.
“It’s just to help you focus, Ms. Bennett. Sometimes, what we see can distract us from what we feel. But don’t worry – you can take it off if it bothers you.”
Alicia hesitated for a brief moment, her fingers twitching as if reaching for the blindfold, but she decided against it. She kept her eyes shut tightly, the blindfold pressing gently against her skin. Part of her hoped that, once this was over, she could convince herself – maybe even convince others – that she had truly moved on from Caden and had finally let go.
But deep inside, Alicia knew that she was lying to herself. Caden had taken so much from her. Peace felt like a distant memory, something she could no longer grasp. Her entire life had been disrupted because of him. She tightened her grip on the chair’s armrests.
If she had taken off the blindfold now and seen unfamiliar faces looking back at her, this entire session would have been meaningless. She had to trust the process, no matter how vulnerable it made her feel.
Across from her, the psychologist sat upright, his posture rigid.
With a cold tone, Caden asked, “Did she agree?”
Confused by the question, the psychologist nodded.
“Yes, she’s already in the treatment room.”
Didn’t Caden hear that just moments ago? Why ask again? The psychologist had no idea what was running through Caden’s mind. Caden’s question wasn’t born from confusion-it was from frustration. Alicia’s agreement meant that she was ready to move on-ready to forget him and embrace someone else.
Caden’s thoughts spiraled. What if he hadn’t shown up today? What if she really did connect with another man? The very idea twisted something inside him. A sudden surge of anger washed over him, and he crushed the documents in his hands, crumpling them into a ball.
Sensing the shift in the room, the psychologist fell silent, his eyes wary. He quickly gestured for two men to enter. They were meant to distract Alicia, to ease her into the process, so Caden could make his move.
Caden glanced at the two men. They were good-looking, their faces pleasant enough, but they stirred something deep inside him. The psychologist, oblivious to Caden’s growing frustration, chuckled lightly.
“They’re quite the catch. These two were specially chosen by Ms. Bennett as her top picks.”
Caden’s gaze darkened, his voice laced with quiet menace.
“Is that so?”
The two men, who had been confident just moments before, now froze, feeling an unnerving chill run down their spines.
They locked eyes with Caden, sensing something in his presence that made them uneasy. Caden had always been self-assured about his looks, never one to be easily jealous. But knowing these were Alicia’s choices, he couldn’t deny the feeling that it was a blow to his pride.
Yet, Alicia couldn’t see them. She was blindfolded, unaware of the men standing before her. He forced down the surge of irritation and jealousy that threatened to take over.
During the treatment, Caden’s eyes remained fixed on the data displayed on the screen. The monitor tracked Alicia’s heart rate, showing no signs of fluctuation. Beside him, the psychologist reviewed the data with a critical eye.
“No fluctuations at all,” he remarked, his tone serious.
“Ms. Bennett’s condition appears more severe than we thought.”
The two men who had been brought in to assist with the treatment were no amateurs. They were trained in the art of charm, skilled at drawing attention and winning over women. Yet, Alicia’s responses to them had been dull, almost indifferent.
Though calm and uninterested, Caden didn’t look away from the screen.
“They’re too ordinary,” he muttered, his voice flat.
“They don’t stand a chance of catching her eye.”
The psychologist glanced at him, a silent acknowledgment in his gaze. Of course, who could compare to Caden?
When it was finally Caden’s turn, Alicia was already feeling the weight of exhaustion. The room around her smelled faintly of warmth, something inviting but also strangely intoxicating.
There was a hint of something that should have been arousing, but instead, it made her feel drowsy. Still wearing the blindfold, Alicia heard the door open.
“Didn’t I say to pause the treatment?” she asked, her voice thick with drowsiness.
Caden stood at the foot of the bed, silent, his lips pressed tight as he observed her. Alicia sighed.
“Never mind,” she muttered, shifting slightly in the chair.
“Since you’re here… let’s just start. I’ll probably fall asleep anyway.”
With his long legs, Caden effortlessly pulled a chair closer to her bed and sat down.
“Why are you sitting so close?” Alicia asked, though her voice remained steady, her vision still entirely obscured by the blindfold.
Caden’s voice broke through the silence, sharp and confident.
“Because I’m special.”
Alicia’s breath hitched at the sound of his voice. She froze, her heart skipping a beat, and instinctively reached up to remove the blindfold, only to find that her hands didn’t move. It was then she realized – her limbs had been restrained from the very beginning.
Caden’s voice broke through her panic.
“The bed is designed for comfort. You won’t feel any harm. But don’t bother trying to break free.”
His words were blunt, unapologetic, and infuriating all at once. Alicia stopped struggling, her chest heaving as the reality of her situation settled in.
“Caden, what do you want from me?” she asked, her voice quivering despite her best efforts to stay composed.
She couldn’t see him, but his presence was overwhelming. Even knowing he wouldn’t hurt her, a sense of panic bubbled up, unexplainable and relentless.
Caden reached over and switched off the lights, the room plunging into near darkness. In the faint glow, his sharp, chiseled features seemed even more striking.
“I’m here to treat you,” he said softly, his voice sending a shiver down her spine.
“To help you sleep.”
His gaze shifted to the data on the screen in front of him. Alicia’s heart rate had spiked. Caden’s lips curled into a smirk.
“Your heart’s racing. Interesting.”
The throbbing in her temples intensified.
“Meeting a monster would make anyone’s heart race,” she muttered under her breath. But it wasn’t just fear. It was Caden, with his devilish charm, stirring emotions she couldn’t quite control.
Caden ignored her protests, his demeanor calm and calculating. This was her plan. She had walked right into it herself. She couldn’t blame him for what happened next.
His voice, soft and magnetic, filled the room again.
“With your heart rate up, it’s time to move on to the next step. A hug, or should I kiss you first?”
Alicia’s fists clenched.
“No more steps, Caden,” she breathed, her voice breaking.
“Let me go. This isn’t a legitimate treatment!”
Caden’s tone was almost patient, as though explaining something simple.
“Didn’t they explain all this before you signed the form, Alicia?”
Alicia’s heart pounded in her chest.
“This has nothing to do with you!”
“Initially, no. But the third man you picked had to leave, so I’m the substitute.”
As he spoke, he leaned closer, taking her hand in his, his breath brushing lightly against her cheek. The unexpected contact sent a shiver through her, her throat tightening under the weight of his proximity.
Caden’s fingers slowly intertwined with hers, his lips brushing gently against her own. The faint trace of her lipstick was intoxicating, stirring a wave of possessiveness deep within him. He ventured further, reclaiming what he had always considered his.
Caden wasn’t in a hurry. He pulled back slightly between kisses, his voice soft yet commanding.
“Before we continue with the treatment, let me remind you of the steps. First, the heart races. Then kissing, followed by foreplay, and finally…” He paused deliberately, his unfinished words lingering in the charged air between them.
Alicia’s heart hammered in her chest, her lips pressed tightly together in silence.
Caden’s voice dropped lower, his words brushing over her like a gentle caress.
“Do you want to sleep well tonight, Alicia? If you do, I’m ready to see this through.”
Caden didn’t ask Alicia for her thoughts; he simply informed her of his intentions, leaving her no room to refuse. He began by gently kissing her lips, his touch soft yet assertive, before trailing lower.
Blindfolded, Alicia’s senses were heightened, every kiss sparking a fire within her. She could feel the path of his lips as they moved, leaving her breathing erratic and her resistance slowly fading. The warmth of his body mixed with the ambient scents in the room, dissolving the last remnants of her defiance.
In a weak protest, she murmured, “Caden, how shameless you are.”
Once inhibitions are cast aside, boundaries blur. Caden, typically reserved and accustomed to others coming to him, now took bold and decisive action. Startled and overwhelmed, Alicia tensed as his head neared her abdomen, her legs snapping shut instinctively to halt his advance.
Her voice, raspy with embarrassment, warned him firmly, “Caden, don’t you dare!” There was a sharp edge to her tone, a vow that she would make him regret it should he persist.
Caden paused at her warning, seeming to take her words into account. Without a word, he moved to disconnect all the power cords, casting the room into darkness.
Outside, the psychologist monitoring the session quickly understood the situation. With a subtle gesture, the observers were dismissed, leaving the couple alone.
Caden was fearless, unafraid to test any boundary. From the moment he entered, his resolve toward Alicia had been clear. His touch, gentle yet unyielding, explored as he spoke with calm assurance, “Alright, I’ll do as you say.”
