Filed to story: When His Wife Can’t Forgive
Soon, the barbecue was ready, with the table piled high with energy-boosting dishes.
Caden picked up a chicken skewer, taking his time with each bite.
Gerry’s eyes widened. “You ordered all of this, Caden?”
Caden nodded casually.
Gerry raised an eyebrow, amused. “Can you even handle it?”
Caden shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. If I don’t have enough energy to perform well in bed, someone will start complaining.”
Alicia shot him a look and kicked him under the table.
Ignoring her, Caden took a slow bite of oysters.
His expression flattened as he chewed, clearly fighting to mask his distaste.
Each bite tasted like cardboard.
Finally, he reached for a drink and found it equally awful. He couldn’t help but sigh.
After they’d eaten, Alicia reminded a tipsy Gerry, “Don’t forget what you promised me.”
Gerry nodded, thinking hard. “Don’t worry. I’ll send it to you as soon as I’m back.”
Worried he’d forget, she added, “I’ll message you a reminder, just in case.”
Gerry chuckled. “Alright, alright.”
With Cliff there to look after Gerry, Alicia was less worried.
Cliff even took Monica with him, giving Caden a clear opportunity to talk things out with Alicia.
But as she approached her car, she froze, noticing all the tires were flat.
She stood in stunned silence. Who the hell did this? She turned, and Caden was walking toward her.
He asked, glancing at the tires, “What happened here?”
Alicia crossed her arms. “Caden, did you do this?”
Caden’s face remained calm. “I’ve been with you all night. Think I cloned myself?”.
She didn’t believe him for a second and reached for her phone – only to find her pocket empty.
What?
Where was her phone?
Caden asked, “What’s the matter now?”
She stiffened. “Where’s my phone?”
Caden’s expression was unreadable. “Your phone? Why would I take your phone?”
She was sure he had taken it, so Alicia immediately searched him.
A flicker of darkness flashed in Caden’s eyes as he opened his arms, inviting her to search.
Sure enough, she found her phone in his pocket.
Alicia scoffed, her frustration bubbling, but before she could say anything, his strong arms wrapped around her, pulling her close.
Caught off guard, she gasped as he effortlessly lifted her, setting her down on the hood of the car.
“What are you doing? Put me down!” she said, her voice wavering.
Caden held her firmly. “Not this time,” he said, guiding her into the passenger seat and gently holding her hands. “Just be patient. Let me apologize to you on behalf of my uncle.”
Alicia paused, her breathing shallow as her emotions surged, her gaze turning vulnerable.
Caden’s voice softened as he pulled her closer, gently closing the door. “I didn’t know until recently how he treated you.”
She bit her lip, turning her head to hide the tears welling in her eyes. In the privacy of the car, his defenses lowered, and he comforted her, drawing her close with gentle hands. The quiet intensity between them seemed to heighten as he leaned in, brushing his lips over hers in a soft, deepening kiss.
“When there’s a chance, I’ll make sure he apologizes to you. Will that be enough?”
Alicia’s lashes fluttered.
She hadn’t been angry for long, and her resolve softened. She parted her lips slightly, welcoming his kiss as their connection deepened, full of promise and a quiet understanding.
Once Alicia softened, Caden’s actions turned bold and unrestrained.
It had been a while since they’d been this close, and both felt the heightened sensitivity between them. But car intimacy wasn’t on Alicia’s agenda, and she pushed him back with one last hold on her resolve. “Let’s go home.”
Caden’s breathing was labored. “If we go home, will you let me have my way with you?”
Alicia’s cheeks flushed.
Wasn’t that always the case?
But lately, with all the stress he’d been under, he was bound to be relentless tonight.
Not wanting to be overwhelmed, Alicia added, “Only if you behave – no surprises.”
Caden’s lips curved into a smirk.
“Alright,” he said.
Uneasy at his grin, she warned, “I mean it – no funny business.”
“Didn’t I just agree?” He let her go and started the engine.
As Alicia straightened her wrinkled clothes, Caden took her hand, guiding it toward his fly.
She stared at him, shocked. “Are you out of your mind? You’re driving.”
He kept his expression composed. “That’s why I need your help.”
Alicia gaped as he held her wrist, showing her how to please him. Cursing under her breath, she felt her face grow hotter.
The more she muttered complaints, the more intense his reaction became, until she finally gave up with a sigh. “I’ve never seen you this desperate. Was it those oysters tonight?”
Caden frowned when he heard that.
“Those were awful, nothing like… yours.”
She blinked, taken aback. “Mine? What do you mean?”
His gaze shifted to a spot on her dress.
Alicia nearly choked.
Taking advantage of her distraction, Caden asked, “What were you and Gerry discussing tonight?”
She dodged.
“Just… something good.”
Caden snorted. “What ‘good’ could Gerry possibly have?”
“That’s none of your business.”
They finally reached the garage, and Caden couldn’t wait to get on with it.
It was his private garage, so he didn’t need to worry about passers-by or cameras. Besides, Alicia longed for it too, so she let him continue.
But as soon as they undressed, he froze.
He looked down, a hint of surprise in his eyes as he wiped a trace of blood from his fingertips. “Wasn’t your period due in a few days?”
Alicia was equally surprised.
Pulling her clothes back on, she muttered, “I have no idea. Maybe it came early from all the stress you’ve put me through.”
“No wonder I felt strange earlier when we kissed.”
Caden’s mouth twitched.
Accepting the situation, he carried her inside and made her some ginger tea, hoping it might help with her cramps.
Later that night, as they lay together, Caden was still curious.
“What exactly did you ask Gerry for?”
Caden could provide anything Gerry had without breaking a sweat.
Did she really need to go to someone else?
Alicia found it hard to explain, but soon after, Gerry sent over the item.
Since Caden was curious, she decided to show him.
