Chapter 24 – The Princess: Eight Uncles Beloved Treasure Novel (Lily & Crawfords)

Tina couldn’t help but sigh as well. She was speechless upon seeing Lily with her paintings.

Is she showing off because she’s the favorite in the family? Does she think Mr. Lambert will accept anyone as his student?

With a smile on his face, Hugh said, “Lambert, my old friend, come and have tea with me on the second floor!”

Lawrence couldn’t wait to see Lily’s paintings. He nodded and said, “Sure!”

Upon hearing this, Cheryl was stunned. What about her when Lawrence left?

Didn’t he want me to become his student?

Cheryl clenched her fingers and anxiously asked, “Mr. Lambert, what about me?”

Lawrence looked at her, confused. “Good girl. I’ll see you next time.”

With that, Hugh led Lawrence to the second floor with Lily.

Tina and Cheryl were dumbfounded.

Although Tina was very angry, she knew she had to endure it.

“You will shine when it’s your time. The Crawford family is wealthy and influential. But Mr. Lambert is not an ordinary man. They can’t possibly bribe him with money. They’re only humiliating themselves!”

Tina comforted Cheryl. “Cheryl, be patient and wait.”

However, they didn’t expect to wait for such a long time.

In the study on the second floor, Lily sat upright on the sofa and glanced at Lawrence in front of her.

“Lily, do you know that Mr. Lambert is the most renowned oil painting artist in the country? In fact, you should address him as Master Lambert.”

“Master Lambert!” Lily obediently said.

From the beginning, Lawrence genuinely liked Lily. He asked, “Sweetheart, did you draw all these paintings?”

Lily nodded. “Yes!”

“Can you tell me more about these paintings?”

Lily’s face lit up. She leaned over the table and began to explain her drawings earnestly.

Anthony entered the room and saw Lily conversing with Lawrence and Hugh.

Lily was explaining earnestly, and the two elderly men were attentively listening. They even laughed from time to time.

Seeing this scene, Anthony felt inexplicably sad. A young girl could only make friends with two old men.

Tina and Cheryl sat on the sofa in the living room on the first floor, waiting.

When the butler, Jack, informed everyone that Lawrence wouldn’t be coming down again, everyone left in disappointment.

Cheryl and her parents had no choice but to leave as well. However, Tina was unhappy. She believed Lawrence was going to accept Cheryl as his student, but it didn’t go as planned.

Tina couldn’t accept this fact. So she took Cheryl and waited inside the car outside Crawford Mansion.

Two people walked by and whispered, “Is that Cheryl and her mother? Are they still waiting?”

“They thought Mr. Lambert was here for Cheryl. But with all due respect, Cheryl is still not up to par.”

Upon hearing this, Tina was very angry.

What do they mean by Cheryl not being up to par?

Nevertheless, Tina couldn’t help but worry. Lawrence had been on the second floor for so long. Was the Crawford family pressuring him to mentor Lily?

Lily wasn’t naturally talented in drawing, but she had wealthy uncles. What if they used money to coerce Lawrence into accepting Lily as his student?

Tina felt it was unfair to think that way.

At almost 11 p.m., Lily walked Lawrence to the door. She was very happy.

It seemed that she had found a good friend, despite the significant age difference.

Yes, Grandpa is right. He’s really my “old” friend.

Lily waved her hand and said, “Bye, my ‘old’ friend! See you next time!”

Looking at Lily in front of him, Lawrence was overjoyed. He never expected to have such an adorable and talented girl as his student.

“Goodbye, little girl!” Lawrence waved back.

Both of them were very happy.

In the car, Lawrence couldn’t help but look at Lily’s drawings on his phone.

Among them was a drawing of an amusement park. In the picture, a little girl was holding an adult’s hand, and there were clouds and a rainbow in the sky.

In the upper right corner, the sun was depicted as a Ferris wheel, adorned with several melted ice creams.

Everything in the drawing was clear, except for the person holding the little girl’s hand. The figure appeared blurry.

This was the only aspect that Lawrence couldn’t comprehend, and Lily had skipped explaining it.

Lawrence shared Lily’s drawing on his social media and wrote, “The most talented young artist I’ve ever encountered!”

It was rare for Lawrence to offer compliments. Only exceptional artists could capture his attention.

That night, Lily’s drawing went viral, sparking curiosity about the identity of the young artist.

As the car pulled into the mansion, someone waved, prompting the driver to slow down.

“Sir, someone is here to see you.”

Looking up, Lawrence spotted Tina and Cheryl. Tina greeted him with a smile.

Lawrence couldn’t help but furrow his brow. Nevertheless, he stepped out of the car and inquired, “Do I know you?”

Tina saw her opportunity and quickly approached, saying, “Mr. Lambert, do you remember us? This is Cheryl. She won the national junior art competition. Cheryl Miller. Do you recall her?”

Now he’ll surely remember Cheryl!

However, wearing a perplexed expression,

Lawrence asked, “Cheryl? Who is Cheryl? I’m sorry, but I can’t recall.”

Upon hearing this, Tina was left speechless.

He didn’t remember Cheryl?

Tina had always been proud of Cheryl ever since she won the national junior competition and was selected to join the National Art Council. She often mentioned it in front of others, thinking that Cheryl was famous and that Lawrence from the National Art Council must remember her.

However, she was taken aback when Lawrence didn’t recognize Cheryl at all. Tina couldn’t help but blush in embarrassment.

Cheryl, being just a kid, couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Lambert, aren’t you here to recruit students?”

“Yeah. What’s wrong?” Lawrence replied.

“Then why haven’t you recruited me yet?” Cheryl asked.

Hearing this, Lawrence was confused, while Tina felt even more embarrassed.

“I’m sorry, little girl, but I just accepted a student,” Lawrence politely explained.
