Chapter 224 – When His Wife Can’t Forgive

Filed to story: When His Wife Can’t Forgive

Alicia felt fear and heartache, calling out to them, but they disappeared from sight, leaving her alone in the storm.

Rainwater choked her, filling her mouth and nose. She struggled desperately to expel it, gasping for breath as the suffocating sensation intensified.

“Ugh…”

Alicia waved her arms frantically until she caught hold of something furry.

She suddenly woke up to find a handsome face only inches from hers, with a playful tongue exploring her mouth.

She was deeply shocked…

The fear from the nightmare faded quickly, replaced by a surge of anger.

Alicia slapped Caden across the face.

He relaxed his hold slightly, his voice soft. “Awake?”

Alicia’s face was flushed, her breathing uneven.

“If I hadn’t woken up, you might have kissed me to death,” she said, trying to scold him, but her tone lacked any real force after such an intimate kiss. “Who allowed you into my bed?”

Caden ignored the question. “You were calling for your dad in your sleep, so I came.”

Reflecting on the dream and now feeling safe in his embrace, Alicia found that her initial terror seemed to melt away. She asked curiously, “Why did you come when I was calling for my dad?”

Caden held her closer, responding, “A man has many roles to fulfill, especially when he’s needed.”

Alicia considered his mischievous ways and inhaled deeply.

Had they not been at odds, Caden would have likely begun his usual dirty talk by now.

His warmth made her feel overheated, prompting her to push him away-but as she did, she inadvertently touched his bare skin.

She quickly withdrew her hand. “Why aren’t you dressed?”

Caden casually replied, “I didn’t bring any clothes to change into.”

“Don’t they provide bathrobes at the hotel?”

“I’m allergic to their material.”

“What?” Alicia called out his lie without mercy. “Then how come you’re not allergic to my bathrobe?”

Caden glanced at her with a smirk.

“Thanks for reminding me.” He coaxed gently, “How about you take it off then?”

“No way…” Alicia knew that whatever she said, he would manipulate it.

She closed her eyes and turned her back to him, choosing to ignore him.

Caden embraced her from behind, turning her around, and kissed her lips once again.

In the waking moment, the intimacy felt even more overwhelming, pushing him towards irrationality. Caden lowered his tone, trying to please her. “You’ve forgiven me, haven’t you?” Though he already knew the answer, he asked anyway. “You’ve missed me these days, haven’t you?”

Alicia bit her lip, remaining silent.

She tried to keep her composure, but the blush at the corners of her eyes betrayed her.

“If you were still mad, you wouldn’t have let me in,” Caden said, pressing his point further.

Alicia’s voice was raspy. “If I ask you to leave now, would you…”

Caden smoothly changed the subject. “Do you miss me, Lucky?”

Tears suddenly streamed down Alicia’s cheeks. Caden felt a pang in his heart and leaned in to kiss the tears away.

Alicia shivered slightly, but she stopped resisting.

What she couldn’t truly resist was not Caden’s playful taunts, but her lingering feelings for him.

Once her emotions were triggered, they overwhelmed her, one after the other.

Caden then began to make love to her passionately, but before finishing, he chose to stop.

It seemed as though he was trying to prove something, only kissing her repeatedly and satisfying his desires on his own terms.

He was both restrained and indulgent.

The intensity of the moment left Alicia stunned and unmoving, her thoughts in disarray.

She wondered whether she would go to such lengths for an exceptionally handsome male escort if their roles were reversed.

She realized she wouldn’t.

Noticing Alicia’s stunned state, Caden softened his actions and asked gently, “Did I scare you?”

Alicia’s eyes widened in surprise.

She wasn’t frightened by Caden’s body; she was taken aback by his boldness.

Although Caden didn’t stop his actions, he did slow them down.

Alicia moistened her dry lips. “Could you… could you stop for a second?”

Caden, compliant, looked at her intensely. “Are you frightened?”

Alicia shook her head.

She avoided looking at other parts of his body and instead focused on his eyes, asking, “I just don’t get it, what are you trying to do?”

Caden swallowed hard. “An apology.”

“Well…” Alicia was bewildered. “What kind of apology is this?”

If he weren’t so attractive, this would seem completely inappropriate!

Caden clarified, “It’s to demonstrate that I’m interested in more than just your body.”

Alicia’s lips quivered slightly.

Caden was skilled at playing mind games, but Alicia was not one to be easily manipulated.

She carefully moved, creating some space between them. “Is this a genuine apology?”

Caden, narrowing his eyes slightly, watched her closely. Her calm demeanor suggested she might be planning something.

“I am being honest,” Caden said, though a hint of confusion lingered. Lacking the patience to think about any potential plans she might have, he opted for honesty.

Alicia glanced around the room. “But I think your sincerity needs something more. It should come with fulfilling one of my requests.”

Caden responded instinctively, “It can’t be anything too extreme.”

Alicia was taken aback but fought back a smile. She shook her head. “How could I be so heartless?”

Caden stayed careful. “What is your request?”

Alicia got straight to the point. “I want to record your apology.”

Caden looked doubtful. “Is that it?”

Alicia’s gaze was piercing. “Yes, that’s it. Do you record it?”

“If you record now, it’ll be my first time,” Caden said, his voice low.

Alicia felt her heart skip a beat. He had told her once that his first intimate encounter was with her. They were both starting from scratch.

She swallowed, pulled out her phone, and climbed out of bed. “To the bathroom,” she said, “I need a place with good lighting to capture your face clearly.”

Caden followed her lead. “Will you watch it later yourself?” he asked.

Alicia thought to herself, No way! How could she be as obsessed as he was, as if he couldn’t survive a day without sex?

She didn’t respond to his question. Instead, she set up the phone stand. “Let’s hurry and finish this recording so we can go to sleep.”

Caden’s gaze held a seductive charm. “Will you forgive me once I fulfill your request?” he asked.

Alicia nodded.

Caden’s lips twisted into a grin as he leaned against the cold wall, his eyes never leaving her face. “While recording, will you be watching?” he teased.

Alicia turned her face away, her throat dry. “No need to know what I’m doing.”

After more than an hour of adjustments, Alicia finally shut off the recording. She quietly fiddled with her phone for a moment. Exhausted after the session, Caden drew her into his embrace, craving a kiss.

“I don’t enjoy smoking afterward,” he breathed heavily. “Lucky, just kiss me for a little while.”

Alicia’s demeanor shifted, blocking his advances.

Caden’s brow furrowed. “What’s the matter?”

Alicia’s face was resolute. “What’s the matter? What exactly is our relationship now, that I should kiss you?”
