He connected to her voice chat, and his clear, melodious voice resonated in the study room.

“Good evening, Ms. Lucifer.”

“Good evening, Mr. Rose,” said Alyssa jokingly, “What kind of rose are you?”

“It seems like you handle pressure really well. Ada’s incident didn’t really impact you,” said Jameson as he smiled gently.

“Well, that’s because I live by a mantra.”

“What do you mean?”

“Haters gonna hate, players gonna play, so I’m just gonna shake it off.”

Jameson couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. He paused for a while, then said, “Can I help you regarding Ada’s incident?”

“It’s fine. This is a competition between me and the Walsh Group. Although it’s not a big deal, getting people from the Schmidt Group involved is inappropriate. Thanks for your kind concern,” Alyssa replied, politely declining his offer.

of my own will, not on behalf of the Schmidt Group,” said Jameson softly, with a tinge

“I’m helping you out of my of concern in his voice.

Alyssa quirked a brow. “Don’t you believe in my abilities? Do you think I can’t handle this on my own?”

“No,” said Jameson helplessly. He chuckled softly before adding, “I don’t want you to be that tired. Then you can spend more time playing games with me. You haven’t been online in days.”

Alyssa was stunned. She blinked her eyes. Could he have been waiting for her to go online for these past few days?

returned from Kontina, leaving him with free time. Besides, he didn’t have any friends. So,

Sean was panting as he rushed back to Alyssa’s place, the chilly fall air clinging to him. His forehead glistened with sweat.

Alyssa didn’t immediately ask him about the outcome; instead, she strode to the coffee table and poured him a glass of warm water.

She handed the glass over to him and said, “Take a rest first and have some warm water. It’s cold outside, isn’t it?”

As Sean took the glass, the tips of his chilly fingers brushed against Alyssa’s. It felt warm, and his heart skipped a beat.

“Have a seat and relax.”

Alyssa turned and sat on the couch. She had her legs crossed beneath her nightgown and her peach- colored velvet slippers perched on the tips of her toes.

Sean’s face was slightly flushed as he held the glass awkwardly in his hands.

He took a moment to regulate his breathing before speaking, “Ms. Alyssa, everything turned out just as you expected. Bryan and Abigail knew each other, and they’re much more than just friends!”

Alyssa smiled. “Even if I knew what’s going on, things could only be done with your help, right?”

Sean handed his phone to her as he smiled shyly.

She took the phone and lowered her head, scrolling through the pictures with a reserved expression.

The pictures showed Bryan and Abigail on a date at a cafe. Bryan was caressing Abigail’s face, their hands intertwined. They gazed at each other lovingly, deeply immersed in their own world.

“Ms. Alyssa, this is solid proof! We can question Bryan now!” Sean was brimming with excitement, convinced they had a strong lead.

“This is far from enough.” Alyssa put down the phone calmly.

“Is this not enough?” Sean widened his eyes.

He continued, “I’ve got my hands on their hotel room reservation records for the past two months, which showed that they met at least twice in one week. They’ve been in close contact.

“And before these two months, there wasn’t a single interaction between them! Isn’t this enough to prove

Dean was the snitch?”

‘It is, but the evidence isn’t enough. You studied law. You should know that this is circumstantial evidence. It’s insufficient to convict Bryan.”

Alyssa closed her eyes as she stretched out on the couch. “What if he claims they’re just a regular couple? What can you do about it?”

Finally, Sean grasped Alyssa’s intentions.

She wasn’t just interested in uncovering the betrayer’s identity. She was determined to eliminate any potential threats.

She intended to make both the mastermind and the accomplices pay dearly for their actions!

With a grim expression, Sean remarked, “Then we’ll have to find evidence that he leaked confidential information.”

“Bryan couldn’t resist leaking the information to Abigail as soon as I mentioned I had devised a new plan during the meeting. I can already anticipate his next moves.

“You don’t have to tail Bryan for now. Assign someone to shadow Abigail and Betty. Monitor their interactions.

“Also, dig a bit deeper into Abigail’s background. Who knows, we might uncover some other surprises..

‘Understood, Ms. Alyssa.”

Suddenly, a rhythmic breathing filled the room.

Sean looked closely and realized that Alyssa had fallen asleep in an instant. Her lips were slightly parted, and her long lashes cast shadows beneath her eyes. Her breathing carried an air of elegance.

It appeared that she was exhausted, her mind overwhelmed.

Sean’s eyes revealed concern and distress as he knelt beside the couch on one knee. Initially, he extended his arms. He was tempted to scoop her up.

However, he restrained his impulse to touch her. Instead, he retrieved a blanket and carefully tucked her secretary. It wouldn’t be appropriate for him to exploit the situation while she

Furthermore, he held a steadfast belief that, apart from Alyssa’s father and brothers, her lover should be the only man who deserved to carry her in his arms.

It was midnight. Jeremy sat by the window in his study room, pouring himself a glass of red wine.

The glass he was using at the moment was one of the presents Alyssa had given him.

It was a pair of Baroque-style crystal wine glasses. The clear clinking of these glasses indicated their top-

notch craftsmanship and exquisite quality.

As he sipped the wine, he couldn’t help but wonder if when she had gifted him these glasses, she had thought of spending a lifetime together with him.

Jeremy frowned. The wine in his mouth suddenly tasted even more bitter than a bitter gourd.

Right at that moment, a knock sounded at his door. Xavier entered the room with several documents.

“Mr. Walsh, I’ve completed the investigation on Abigail, just as you instructed. Rest assured, I even found information on where her ancestors are buried! Absolutely no oversight!” Xavier declared confidently.

Previously, Jeremy hadn’t left a good impression on Alyssa because of Xavier. This time, he was particularly diligent in gathering information, hoping to make up for his mistake.

“Alright, Scan a copy of it and send it to the president of the Taylor Group.”

In the illumination of the light, Jeremy held a magnificent glass in his hand, twirling it around with great fascination.

Xavier was momentarily stunned. “Huh? Do I send it to Mr. Jonah?”

As Jeremy shot him a frosty glare, he immediately laughed sheepishly. “Ah, it’s Madam Allison.”

“Send it via email,” ordered Jeremy, then he added after a pause, “Send it anonymously.”

“Huh? Why, though?” Xavier blurted out without pausing to reconsider his words.

Jeremy pursed his lips. “I’m worried that she might simply delete it without looking at it if she sees the sender is from the Walsh Group.

Xavier wondered if it was really necessary to be this discreet.

Jeremy’s phone buzzed on the coffee table. He picked it up and saw that it was a video call from Landon.

Jeremy was puzzled as he answered the call. “What are you up to now?”

On the screen, Landon’s face was as pale as a sheet. He lay on a white bed with a blue and white wall
