Had it not been for Rebecca and Zac, Uno and Deuce’s two children would likely have drowned. In such a scenario, the family responsible for guarding the dam would have faced severe consequences, and the village would have been in turmoil. The village head couldn’t help but feel a lingering dread when thinking about it.
After exchanging pleasantries with Rebecca, Zac, and the village head, they presented their discussed idea.
The village head smiled and responded, “That’s a brilliant idea. You organize the classes, and I’ll handle the rest.”
The village was impoverished and lacked development. He hoped these celebrities could positively impact the children’s lives, helping them broaden their horizons beyond the village. With his deep knowledge of the village, he visited homes with children, explaining the plan to their families. At the same time, he shared Rebecca and Zac’s heroic rescue of the children with the entire village.
As the Webb brothers encountered villagers along the way, they also shared the story. Consequently, the villagers’ impression of Rebecca and the others changed from indifference to goodwill.
When the villagers heard that these celebrities could teach children to sing, dance, paint, or help them with their studies, many parents and elderly residents expressed interest.
Furthermore, when news circulated that Rebecca could repair electrical appliances and had successfully fixed the village’s broken tractor, those with malfunctioning home appliances brought them to her, hoping for a solution.
Therefore, Rebecca took on the job first. She borrowed tools from the village committee and, with the assistance of the production team, obtained the necessary materials before starting to repair the malfunctioning television, oven, radio, and other appliances. Her repairs were not only meticulous but also remarkably fast and effective. She successfully fixed all the appliances except for those that required replacement parts.
‘Wow, my daughter is amazing! It turns out she’s not only skilled at fixing tractors but can also repair many other things.’
‘Even if she doesn’t work in the entertainment industry, she can still make a living with her repair skills.’
‘She’s such a genius! She even came up with the brilliant idea of organizing classes.’
‘I can’t wait to see how they teach the children.’
‘Our Rebecca is like a treasure box, always surprising us.’
In addition to her existing fans, Rebecca gained numerous admirers from older age groups. They continued to compliment her, and no one felt annoyed by it.
At noon, the four of them went to Uno’s house and enjoyed a hearty lunch before returning to the yard.
Rebecca continued to repair electrical appliances while the other three prepared the class materials. As she fixed each appliance, she received gifts from the villagers in the form of rice, noodles, meat, and vegetables.
In the afternoon, the villagers happily left with their repaired items, and the tables in the yard were filled with food.
This sight shocked the other group, who had been working hard in the orchard for most of the day.
Rebecca’s ability to repair such a wide range of electrical appliances truly surprised them. They also noticed that Zac and the other two were once again benefiting from her talents, which fueled their envy even more.
Leon was aware that Rebecca had chosen mechanical engineering as her minor in college, but he was still surprised by her ability to repair various electrical appliances.
Aaron, on the other hand, had no idea that his younger sister possessed this skill. She had been at home for over a year and had never mentioned it to them. However, he didn’t consider that even if she had mentioned it, the Collinses would likely have dismissed it as unimportant. They might have even criticized her for not focusing on more substantial pursuits.
Meanwhile, Rosie couldn’t help but curse Rebecca in her mind. She believed that Rebecca had hidden her abilities too well during her time at home, and now she was intentionally showcasing them on the program. Rosie thought to herself, Such a cunning b*tch.
As Rosie looked at the abundance of food on the table compared to their meager supplies, she couldn’t help but feel jealous. She wondered what the big deal was about being able to fix appliances. She thought, She’ll enjoy her time in the spotlight for a day or two. Let’s see how long she can stay in the limelight when there are no more appliances to fix.
Rosie stared at the pork and chicken on the table and commented, “Wow, you guys received a lot of food today. Will you be able to finish it all?” Smiling, she continued, “The weather is hot, and we don’t have a refrigerator where we live. I wonder if the meat will spoil by tomorrow.”
They had spent most of the day picking fruit, but their reward did not include any meat. The family they worked for had only given them a few eggs, rice, eggplants, cucumbers, cabbage, and potatoes.
With her statement, Rosie hoped that Rebecca and the others would share some of their meat. After all, it would go to waste if they couldn’t finish it, and that would be a shame. Of course, if Rebecca refused, it could also make her appear stingy.
Rebecca easily understood the implied meaning in Rosie’s words. She thought, She thinks the meat will spoil if we can’t finish it, so they want a portion. With a smile, she responded, “It won’t spoil. An old lady taught us to hang the meat in a basket in the well to keep it fresh. Luckily, our yard has a well.”
Rosie was visibly annoyed by Rebecca’s apparent pretense. She decided to be more direct. “You won’t be able to finish all of this.”
Rebecca raised an eyebrow and replied, “You don’t need to worry about that.”
Zac proudly added, “Rebecca earned all of this meat by repairing electrical appliances.” Then, he looked at Rosie with a smirk. “If you want meat, earn it yourself. Don’t try to take ours.” They wouldn’t even share the meat with the sibling duo, even if they were going to feed it to dogs.
Rosie was shocked by his blunt words. She thought, Crave meat? How can he say that? He knows I’m from an affluent family and have tasted all kinds of meat. I’ve only recently learned to cook a few meat dishes during my previous cooking lessons. I just wanted to showcase my cooking skills and divert attention from Rebecca. But his words make it sound like I’m desperately craving meat.
Tears welled in her eyes, and her voice quivered as she said, “I didn’t want it, and I wasn’t trying to take it. I just thought you had so much meat, and I wanted to remind you that it might go bad. That’s all.”
However, Rosie’s pitiable appearance failed to elicit sympathy from Zac. He rolled his eyes and said, “Don’t mock me just because I’m uneducated. Despite my lack of education, I can still understand the meaning behind your words.”
Rosie had never been publicly teased like this before, especially not by someone she had a crush on. She felt wronged and her voice quivered with a hint of crying. “I really didn’t.”
At this moment, Aaron couldn’t stand to see his younger sister being bullied, so he spoke up. He glared at Zac and said, “Since you know you’re uneducated, maybe you should speak less and not pick on girls all the time.”
Zac chuckled in response, remarking, “Yes, yes, I’m uneducated. I’m not as smart as your siblings, who are academic geniuses. But being honest and speaking the truth doesn’t mean I always pick on girls. Don’t accuse me and label me without any basis.”
Rebecca sided with Zac, saying, “You’re entitled to your opinions, but doesn’t Zac have the right to speak the truth? You’re being domineering and applying a double standard, Aaron.” She was more than willing to join forces with Zac to counter Sc*mbag No. 5.
Furious, Aaron asked, “Rebecca, whose side are you on?” He thought, It was inappropriate for my sister to help those I don’t like to gang up on me.
Rebecca replied boldly, “I stand with whoever is in the right.”
Zac interjected with a self-assured tone, pointing to himself, “You heard that? I’m right.”
Upon seeing the three of them bickering, Jonah’s face broke into a bright smile. Good. Continue fighting and keep the buzz going. Who says that everyone has to be best buddies in variety shows? Why pretend to be harmonious when you clearly don’t like each other? It’s the conflicts that make it real!
He wasn’t worried about Rebecca either, as he had long been aware of her intelligence and rationality. If she came on the livestream and immediately took the opposing side of the Collins siblings and Leon, she must have had her reasons. He didn’t think it was just for stirring up controversy. Instead, he believed that there was likely some twist or turn coming up.
He anticipated a significant twist or development that would captivate the audience. So, he chose to refrain from intervening and instead watch the two factions clash.
In the live chat, fans of Aaron and Rosie began hurling insults at Zac and Rebecca.
Meanwhile, fans of Zac and Rebecca were growing impatient with the Collins siblings, portraying Aaron as an overprotective sibling and Rosie as a schemer.
‘This girl clearly wanted their meat, but when confronted, she denied it. She’s so fake.’
‘Aaron blindly protecting his sister is like my next-door neighbor, a doting sibling fanatic.’
‘This guy has a creepy sister complex.’
‘If Aaron has a girlfriend and gets into a dispute with his sister, who would he support?’
‘Of course, he’d side with Jojo!’
‘Our Zachy indeed lacks the level of education that Aaron has.’
‘It’s just that he was admitted early to a prestigious music academy abroad at the age of 15. It’s not worth mentioning anyway.’
‘Right, Zachy may not have a formal education, but he managed to complete all his credits in just two years and graduated early with outstanding grades.’
‘Then, he returned to gaming, and within a year, he won a world championship. He should be pursuing a more conventional career…’
‘I remember Zeus being fluent in four foreign languages, but he does lack a bit of formal education…’
‘Sigh, we’ve tried to encourage Zachy to study harder, but he simply won’t listen.’
Zac’s fans engaged in self-deprecating humor and playfully teased Aaron’s fans.
Then someone posed a question.
‘What did Aaron mean earlier? Why does he think Rebecca should be on his side?’
