Callum stopped his hand and glanced at me, his deep eyes squinting under his brow bones, silently examining my face.

I felt a little oppressed under his gaze, but not afraid, and somehow I had lost my respect for the noble prince.

“The more you know, the more dangerous you are. Even so, do you want to know?”

“Maybe it’s worth it,” I said stubbornly, staring into his eyes.

I don’t want to be kept in the dark any more. It really doesn’t feel good.

He looked at my determined face, and after a few seconds he gave me a slight smile.

“I did have a vague idea when I saw the trap and Vogue made me realise that vampires might be involved,” Callum says, putting down his things and stepping out of the carriage to approach me.

“But there was no reason for vampires to do this against us, so I assumed there were werewolves behind it, so I consulted with Alen and came up with a plan. I admit that you were the bait for the plan. Would you be angry that I didn’t tell you?” He stood before me, staring at me.

“Are you going to let me get hurt? Or die? What does my life and safety mean in your plan?”

After asking this question, I squeezed my palm, and I felt the sweat in my palm.

I want to know the answer to this question. He put me in danger, but he acted very angry at seeing me hurt. I don’t know what he was thinking. Although we made an agreement a few days ago. He said he would protect me, but I didn’t know the extent of that protection.

Callum’s sharp eyes suddenly became complicated, his golden eyes stared at me for a long time, “You’re too easy to hurt,” he said. I never expected you’d get hurt. I told you you’d be my Luna and future queen. I’m a man of my word. You will be treated with all of Luna’s respect and safety. I promise that what happened yesterday will never happen again.”

With a hoarse voice floating in my ears, my heart missed a beat. I have a feeling of losing control. I suddenly realized that his eyes were so deep that I didn’t dare to look into the deepest of them. There was something there that I had never seen before in my life.

The atmosphere became ambiguous, and I flustered down my eyelashes, ignoring Callum’s gaze, until the distant sound of hooves broke the silence between us.

“Your Highness!”

Alen’s voice could be heard far from the horse. He galloped until he stopped in front of Callum.

“Your Highness! After I received your message, I rushed all the way here. Are you okay?” Alen made a cursory royal salute, then immediately stepped forward and looked worriedly at Callum’s entire body.

“I’m fine, don’t worry,” Callum says, glancing at me as if telling me not to talk. Callum was covered in blood last night. He’s fallen into a trap. He must be hurt.

“Jane, are you okay?” Alen was completely convinced of Callum’s words. I looked into Alen’s soft eyes and silently nodded and smiled, pretending that nothing special had happened last night.

“Jane! ? Why aren’t you dead? !”

A high-pitched female voice came from the horse, and I realized that the person on the horse was my sister Nicole. I looked up and saw Nicole’s disheveled hair. Her beautiful face was now covered in dust. Although she was still wearing the fancy gold fishtail dress, she was stained with dirt, and she was no longer as radiant as before.

“Nick that piece of trash, he couldn’t kill a b.itch like you,” the familiar curse voice reminded me of many times in the pack. The stolen pearls, the stripped clothes, the splashed cold water, these images are repeated in front of my eyes. Her eyes were like arrows of hatred. The anger and pain in her heart made my body tremble, and my throat felt like it was stuck. I couldn’t speak.

“Who are you calling a b.itch?” Roared Callum behind me. His tone was icy cold.

Callum gives Alen a look. Alen nods, steps forward, and kicks Nicole off her horse.

“Oh, my prince.” Nicole, who was on her knees, raised her chin. “Of course you know who I mean, don’t you?”

Her feet were tied and she could not stand, but she still stared straight at Callum, her bright red lips like blood.

It was a hunting look, and she never believed that any man could resist her charms, and I was the one who was always forced to watch her triumph.

Callum came up to me and gave Nicole a cold, contemptuous look.

“Pa!” Callum slapped Nicole’s face so hard that I shivered. Her golden hair fell to the side and her eyes widened in disbelief.

“Why are you doing this to me?” Nicole touched her face and said with a lump in her throat, “I like you so much. You shouldn’t have done this to me, Your Highness.”

She suddenly turned to me, her eyes bloodshot, her voice suddenly distorted. “All of this is because of you.” She gritted her teeth, her face contorted. “You’re just trying to get back at me, aren’t you? You hate that Father Loves me more, so you purposely showed up at the banquet, right?”

“I didn’t,” I retorted loudly, squeezing my sleeve. Again. When she meets any problem, she always naturally puts all the mistakes on me. I’m fed up with it. I’ve left my pack, I shouldn’t have to suffer any more.

I felt a warm touch on my waist, and I found myself shivering slightly.

Callum silently reached out, his warm palms caressing my back, the silent warmth pulling me away from my emotions. I met his eyes as he looked at me. His thick eyebrows furrowed unsightly, and his golden eyes were bright. Although he didn’t say anything, I could still read some worry and comfort in his cold face.

“She’s the one I chose. Don’t you understand? Even without her, I wouldn’t have chosen you.” Callum’s cold words made Nicole’s face turn completely pale.

“I don’t believe it! I don’t believe it! I don’t believe it!” Nicole covered her ears and shook her head. She kept murmuring as Callum looked at her. She was like a child who lost her temper when she didn’t have any candy.

Callum began to get impatient. Alen suddenly squatted down in front of Nicole and pulled out a glass bottle containing an unknown liquid from his arms. He tilted his head and looked at Nicole. “Then, Miss, can you tell me first what this is?”

Alen’s voice was gentle, and he squinted as if he were smiling. He handed the bottle to Nicole. “This is yours, isn’t it? Clair, the leader of the city, told me everything.”

“Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!” Nicole looked at the glass bottle and burst into a bitter, wild laugh, “Do you want to know how I got this?” She put down her hands that covered her ears and shook her head. “It’s a magical liquid made from wolfsbane. It’s a special herb for werewolves. All three of you should have eaten it. Why are you fine?”

She glanced maliciously at the three men standing before her. I suddenly remembered my coma and the things Callum made me swallow before I fell asleep. I looked at Callum in shock. His profile was the same as always, his eyelashes drooping, looking indifferently at the interrogation before him.

So they’ve already discovered everything?

Alen smiled. He explained patiently, “Ah, yes, I’m sorry, we didn’t get poisoned as you wanted, but why do you have this liquid of Wolfsbane with magical qualities? It’s only for the royal family.”

Alen’s tone darkened, his smile faded, and the last sentence sent a chill down Nicole’s spine.

But Nicole didn’t answer his question. She passed Alen and lifted her chin at me. Her face was full of twisted smiles. “Come here and I’ll tell you.”

“Your Highness?” Alen looked back at us hesitantly.

“I could kill you at any time,” Callum says with murderous intent.

“Then you won’t know who gave it to me, will you?” Nicole looked confident. She smiled as she met Callum’s gloomy gaze.

Callum’s hands around my waist tightened, and I could almost feel the force of his fingers.

“I can do it, master, oh, Your Highness.” I took Callum’s hand, took a deep breath, and approached Nicole with both Callum and Alen watching, as if approaching a serpent with its head held high.

“What are you trying to say?” I lowered my head and looked down at her. The face that had always given me nightmares and pain was no longer as bright as it used to be, except for an uncomfortable, twisted madness.

“My dear sister, you haven’t seen me for so long. Shouldn’t you give your sister a hug?” Her tone suddenly became warm and innocent as she tilted her head and smiled at me. She acted as if we were really close family, if I ignored her eyes.

“It’s a pity that you didn’t see my body, isn’t it? Nicole, I’m familiar with your disguise. This kind of trick won’t work on me. You’ll be taken away and sentenced if you attack the royal family. If you tell me, there might be a way to make things right.”

I leaned over, looked into her eyes, and laughed mockingly. I knew Nicole’s mind too well. After all, I had been tortured by her for so long.

“Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!” Nicole burst out laughing wildly and looked at me fiercely, “With the help of the Prince, your tone of voice is different now. A B * Tch without a wolf is going to become the prince’s wife! This is so funny!”

My weakness was attacked again. I gritted my teeth and tried to keep my expression strong. Nicole always knew how to make me miserable.

“I don’t want to hear any more nonsense!” Callum said.

Nicole’s laughter came to an abrupt end, as if she were stuck in her neck.

“Yes, my prince.” Nicole’s tone suddenly became cautious, like a helpless child being scolded by an adult, and she slowly moved closer to me on her knees until the hem of her skirt came close to my feet.
