The ha ute co uture dress she forcefully put on with tape had slipped off her body as the tape was no longer adhesive due to her sweat. She only had a strapless, backless adhesive br a and panty on as her nude body was shamefully exposed in public.

“Ah!” Liana curled up and protected herchest with her arms while dying from shame. Sophia seethed at the unsalvageable situation and regretted hosting the embarrassing birthday party for Liana.

Betty was elated at Liana’s reputational damage as she watched the drama, sipping on red wine. She couldn’t stop herself from smiling. Some nasty men had started filming Liana.

“Tsk tsk. Her body is so-so. Bro, thebreakup is not a loss for you.”Landon rested his el bow on Jeremy with a mocking expression.

Jeremy’s decades of relationship with Liana had turned into an outrageous joke. Staring at his feet, he seemed to have lost hope and turned to leave.

Drowning in hopelessness, Liana stood up and ran after him. “Jeremy!”

She momentarily forgot that she was clothless and unwittingly exposed her almost nude body by standing up.

“Lord! Look at her belly! What are thoselines?”

“It looks like stretch marks!”

“I can tell they are stretch marks rightaway because I gave birth twice!”

“Oh my God! How dare she act like aninnocent young lady when she has given birth to a kid? She’s disgusting!”

“Poor Mr. Walsh! He almost got into ahuge mess. Thank goodness he’s making a U-turn!”

Liana’s dream of becoming Mrs. Walsh went up in a puff of smoke. Everything she worked hard for had gone down the drain.

…

Jeremy dragged himself down the corridor with heavy steps and a g rim look. Landon walked beside him and was about to speak a few times but couldn’t get his words out.

“Do I look pitiful, dumb, and laughable toyou?” Jeremy’s voice was surprisingly scorched. He forced a bitter smile.

Landon shook his head with seriousness.”No, Jeremy. I’m your only friend and best bud. I won’t laugh at you no matter what happens. It’s just … a pity.”

“A pity?” Jeremy closed his raging eyesand mentally shredded the memories of Liana at the birthday party.

“It’s not a pity. If anything, I was blindand bad at judging her character. I deserved everything that had happened to me.”

“No, it’s not that.”Landon sighedwistfully.”I think it was a pity that you missed the chance of making your marriage work in the three years, all because of Liana. You could have been happy with Alyssa instead of turning into enemies like now. Don’t you think?”

Jeremy froze up at the possibility of a happy life with Alyssa. He fell into a daze, replaying memories.

“Jeremy, can we not get a divorce? It’sbecause … I love you.”

A loud ringing persisted in his ears, along with a terrible headache. He quickly held onto the wall as his fingers curled into a fist. He felt his throat closing up and his chest pounding in pain.

Alyss a had once begged him not to get a divorce in tears. He dismissed her plea as a last-ditch attempt to keep the marriage. Ignoring her plea, he perceived her as a prison that he needed to get out of.

He realized too late that Alyss a never intended to tie him down. She humbly professed her love for him one last time in hopes that she could keep loving him.

Knowing he had never loved her, she tried her best to keep him around because she feared losing the right to love him after the divorce.

“That poor little girl must have beenaround three or four. That means Liana Gardner had been sleeping with that man behind your back when she was at Mosgravia.

“If my memory serves me correctly, shewas stringing you along and bothering you. She gave off the impression that she was in exile at Mosgravia because she was willing to give in and wait for you. It seems she had a pretty busy social life behind your back.”

Jeremy grabbed his collar. He trembled violently from the heartache, and each breath he took felt like the end of him.

“Liana was never short of men. You werejust one of them.”Landon stared deep into Jeremy’s eyes.”But you were Lyse’s only love. Do you still remember that rainy night you went to her place? Do you know what she said to me?”

Jeremy returned a blank stare. His forehead was drenched in sweat.

“I confessed my love to her, but sheturned me down right away.” Landon smiled bitterly. He was never a man who needed to go to such lengths for a woman.

He continued, “She told me that she wouldn’t have fallen in love without you and would not fall for any man after leaving you.”

Jeremy’s eyes wavered in shock. He felt as though he was stabbed everywhere across his body as the pain spread.

“Alyssa Taylor, you said that you wouldnot love anyone until I showed up,”he thought. He wondered if that meant he had show n up way earlier in her life.

He needed answers. He demanded an answer from her.

Jeremy’s phone buzzed in his pocket. He took out the phone with shaking hands. It was a call from Ben, which reminded him that something might have happened to Newton.

He hurriedly picked up.”Mr. Gorham, did something happen to Grandpa?”

“Mr. Jeremy, your grandfather hassuffered a sudden stroke. Please hurry to the Solana City General Hospital now!”

“What?” Jeremy felt his chest tighten.

“Don’t worry too much. He’s been movedto the VIP room from the ER. He’s in a stable condition.” Ben reported with lingering fear, “This is all thanks to Ms. Taylor. She administered first aid to Mr. Newton just in time. Had it not been for her, Mr. Newton would have been in a critical situation!”

Jeremy’s cheeks were burning in shame, as though someone had slapped him multiple times.

Liana and Rosaline’s scandal spread like wildfire online. Jeremy and Liana’s engagement news was no longer the top trending topic. It was replaced by hashtags like #LianaGardnersDaughter and #RosalineKirkmanContractKilling.

The footage of the dumpster fire at the party had been leaked. Liana was shown screaming hysterically in the videos.

The dress slip incident and her half-naked body were captured as well in what was a ridiculous soap opera that went viral online.

Liana was violently mocked and cursed in the comment sections. Netizens expressed their distaste at her decision to give up on her daughter for wealth. Some even started a petition to subject Liana’s behavior to the law.

“She can’t even tell her daughter apart after abandoning the poor kid abroad. She’s worse than a dog! Even a dog takes better care of her pups.”

“Comparing her to a dog is an insult todogs.”

“I heard Jeremy Walsh ditched his ex-wife for this bitch. Damn it, he’s really something.”

“He’s love-blind and dumb. I might nothave met his ex-wife, but any woman is better than Liana Gardner at this point!”

“The ex-wife must feel humiliated to becompared to Liana Gardner.”

“Rumors have it that Jeremy Walsh andLiana Gardner are childhood sweethearts. How tragic!I feel sick at fairytales of childhood sweethearts now.”

“LMAO!That’s so dramatic. I needsomeone to make it into a TV show! My mo m and I would love to watch it!”

Ruining one’s reputation seemed easy on the surface. Only the Taylor brothers knew how Alyssa had meticulously planned out each step of Liana Gardner’s downfall.

Alyss a was the most patient of all. If she ever made a move, it was surely to decimate her enemy.

At that moment, the entrance to the Berenike Hotel was crowded with onlookers, media, and police vehicles.

Rosaline was ashen-faced when she showed up in public. She was dragged into the police car by two police officers as she was too weak to walk.

Many onlookers who had not witnessed the scene of an arrest, excitedly filmed the process and uploaded the footage to TikTok.

Across the road, Jonah and Silas slowly rolled up the windows of their Rolls-Royce after successfully wrapping up their covert operation.

“I was about to make you buy some bots to keep Liana and her mo m trending. Looks like we’re good now. Everyone’s excited about the gossip.”Silas stared at the influx of hate comments against Liana with a wicked expression that resembled Axel’s.

“Hm?”Jonah stopped in the middle of hiscoffee drinking with a scrutinizing look.”The only problem with you is that miserly habit of yours.

“Can’t you fix that? You’re WinstonTaylor’s son. You can’t seriously expect me to help pay for bot service. Ten million is probably nothing to you!”

“How dare you accuse me of being stingy?I have been splurging on Lyse since I was young. I never pinch my pennies!” Silas glared at his brother indignantly.

“Yeah. The problem is you’ve never beengenerous to anyone except Lyse.”Jonah sipped his coffee gracefully and joked,”Come to think of it, you’re doing this for Lyse as well.”

Silas wittily chuckled.”Jonah, we’re working together this time. You’re in charge of external operations while I’m doing back-end work. You are the star of this mission, and I wouldn’t want to take the credit.

“More than that, you’re my older brother. It’s your duty to look after me. Just take pity on me, will you?”

Jonah smiled helplessly and gave Silas a playful slap on the back of the head.”You’re getting slicker by the day after working as a prosecutor.”

Silas scratched his head goofily. An idea flashed across his mind. He was about to look for his phone when it rang.

“Ho!We’re brothers, after all! Cyruscalled me just when I was thinking of calling him.”Silas put the phone on speaker mode and chuckled.”Chief Cyrus, how’s everything on your end?”
