“Yes, we are gem merchants. We are leaving after doing some business in the city. Before that, we are here to express our gratitude to you.” Alen’s face was full of sincerity. He’s obviously very good at this sort of thing.

“Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. You’re very sensible businessmen. I like that.”

The Lord, Clair, touched his beard with his hand and sat down on the stool the housekeeper had served for him.

“It’s just,” Alen said, pausing in the middle of his sentence and looking hesitant.

“What’s wrong?” Clair stops his hand from touching his beard.

“We’ve heard that things have been bad outside of town lately. A lot of businessmen have been robbed by thugs out of nowhere. That’s worrying,” Alen said, frowning and sighing.

Callum, who had been silent, suddenly said, “It’s not easy for us to go out to be businessmen. Besides, my wife is not in good health and can’t stand being frightened. Why don’t you issue some regulations on these hooligans to make us feel at ease?”

“This…”

Clair turned to look at his housekeeper, both of them with imperceptible fear on their faces.

“How about having a meal first?” The housekeeper suddenly said, changing the subject.

“Yes, yes, yes. Eat first, eat first.” Clair exhaled and took a swig from his teacup in front of him.

The corners of Callum’s mouth reach an imperceptible angle, and he raises his eyes to exchange a subtle look with Alen.

The maid put the food on the table one by one, and we used the cutlery in silence, enjoying the food. It wasn’t until I began to see double shadows that I realized something was wrong. I turned to look at Callum, only to find that everything was dark and I was unconscious.

The Third Person’s POV

In the drawing room, the housekeeper and the Lord looked at the three unconscious people on the dining table and let out a long breath.

“My Lord, what should we do?”

The butler, who had been standing silently behind the Lord as a backdrop, nervously questioned Clair as he carefully wiped the sweat from his forehead with the kerchief on his chest. His whole body seemed strained by the strain.

“Just give them the woman. Just follow our rules.”

Clair touched his beard, his fat eyes gleaming, and looked at the two men lying on the table, “I don’t feel so good, especially the one who doesn’t talk much…”

The housekeeper could not help looking at the tall, dark-haired figure. Although he had fainted, the housekeeper remembered the man’s threatening, overbearing gaze. It made his hair stand on end.

“What about them?”

“Get rid of it.” Clair’s moustache twitched and he gave a smug smile. He touched the small bottle in his arms and gestured to the housekeeper to take care of the rest.

The housekeeper nodded silently. He adjusted his cuffs and ordered the maids and guards outside the door to come in. The maids picked up the unconscious woman briskly and headed for the bedroom, while the guards joined forces to carry the two men to the door.

Clair was sitting alone in the hall. He took out the glass bottle in his arms and shook it carefully. Under the light, the purple-black liquid in the glass bottle was flowing slowly and thickly, giving off an ominous smell, reminding him how he got it.

‘See the woman in the picture? If you can help me catch her, this box is yours!’

The mysterious man kicked open the box next to him. There was a trace of madness on his face. The box that was opened by his feet was filled with gold and jewelry that almost blinded Clair, and his eyes widened. He was sure that he had never seen so much wealth in his life, and could hardly hold back his greedy hand for a second.

‘Remember, we want her alive.’

A soft female voice sounded and a hand touched his face. The cold touch was like a snake crawling on his face, which awoke his senses for a moment.

The woman with the man was wearing a dazzling gold dress. She was so beautiful that she could attend the banquet in the next second, but her face was as crazy as the man’s.

A glass bottle of an unidentified liquid is handed to Clair, and the woman whispers into his ear like a serpent hissing.

‘We’ve got some help for you. The rest is up to you. We’ll be waiting for your good news.”

They took some of the vampires with them before they left, or rather, borrowed them. But they didn’t come back. Clair felt something was wrong. He didn’t care if they were dead or alive, but it was enough to show that the deal wasn’t as easy as he’d hoped, but the deadline was today, and he didn’t expect the prey to come to him.

It was too much of a coincidence, Clair thought of the dark-haired man’s deep eyes, and the out-of-town hooligans who seemed to be casually mentioned. He tried to suppress a bad feeling. He remembered the deal ‘they’ had promised, and greed had taken over his mind.

He squeezed the glass bottle in his hand and narrowed his eyes. In any case, they had fainted and had to be slaughtered.

He hoped everything went as planned.

Jane’s POV

“Jane!!”

Someone called my name hastily in my ear. My foggy brain began to clear. In my blurry vision, I saw a familiar face.kral.

“Master? “I tried to speak but found my voice was extremely weak. I seemed to be lying in bed. The strange decorations around me reminded me of a completely strange room. I thought I was at a dinner party? What is this place?

I wanted to speak, but my body was still in a state of numbness, and I thought there must be a panic on my face, because the next moment, Callum was close to my face. His forehead was pressed against mine, his black hair falling over his face, his chin taut, his face sullen, his hands caressing my face, the warmth of the touch passing through my skin making me feel like I was being held in the palm of his hand.

“Jane, listen, I’m here for you, don’t worry about anything, Okay?” Callum’s voice was serious, his deep eyes staring at me, and I could see my pale face reflected in those golden eyes. I was all he could see.

“Okay.” I opened my mouth. Although I didn’t know what had happened, I still subconsciously wanted to say yes to him.

“Your Highness, they are here.” Alen’s voice sounded suddenly, and I realized that he had been standing in the doorway.

“Take this and don’t be afraid.”

A chill ran down my lips as Callum pushed a small pill into my mouth with his finger. The pill went into my mouth and melted. I could feel nothing but the faint smell of flowers.

“Good girl.”

A familiar husky voice rang in my ears, and I stared blankly into his face. He suddenly leaned over and gave me a tight hug. His black hair brushed my face and I leaned against his neck with a strange sense of security.

There were heavy footsteps and Callum and Alen looked at each other. The window creaked, and they went out the window. I only felt a light on my body, and his arms left me.

The door was pushed open and I immediately closed my eyes. In a blur, someone came in.

“My Lord, the letter says our ‘guests’ are coming.”

It’s the housekeeper, I think, but who are the guests? The footsteps approached me, I closed my eyes and relaxed my breathing, as if I had never woken up.

“It is a rare beauty. Ah, unfortunately she is doomed.” The Lord’s voice sounded in my ears, and I could even feel his breath spray on my face.

“My Lord.” The housekeeper had to remind him that they had business to attend to.

Clair stares obsessively at the beautiful woman in bed. Her eyes were closed, and her chestnut-colored hair hung down beside her fair face. Her long eyelashes cast a faint shadow on her face. She lay helpless on the bed like a noble and fragile china, and one could not help but indulge in her beauty.

“Hush, Hush, I know. Let the maid come in and prepare. She’s a valuable girl.”

The ladies’ movements were gentle and quick, and I was lifted up and my hands moved quickly over me. A satin kerchief rubs my face. My hair is combed and my makeup is quickly applied.

“Give her some water and get dressed.”

Clair stared at me as the maids played with me. I could feel Clair’s gaze on my face, which made me want to vomit, and there was a sickening stickiness in his voice. I curled my fingers and let them sink into my palms.
