Remy pursed his lips as he watched Sheryl storm away.

After successfully escaping the hospital, Alyssa rushed into her car. With Sean in the driver’s seat, they sped away.

While on the road, Sean noticed Alyssa’s pale expression and completely white lips. In a concerned voice, he asked, “Ms. Alyssa, did you manage to find Grover? Was he in there? How is he doing?”

Alyssa, still shaken and lost in thought, remained silent. Her eyes were dull and grim.

“Ms. Alyssa, are you alright?” Sean spoke louder.

She turned around..

Taken aback, Sean asked, “Who turned around?”

Alyssa lifted her eyes slowly. With a fiery look in her eyes, she explained, “I yelled out Liana Cardner’s name to Sheryl, and she turned around!”

An ear-piercing screech echoed through the night as Sean slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to an abrupt halt by the roadside.

After hearing Alyssa’s explanation, Sean was both enraged and astonished. His grip on the steering wheel tightened, and his fingers dug into the leather.

“Ms. Alyssa, if Sheryl responded to that name, could it be… Is she actually Liana after plastic surgery?

“The corridor was silent at the time. Most people would instinctively turn if someone suddenly yelled. But Sheryl’s reaction was different from a normal person’s.”

Alyssa shut her eyes, her knuckles turning white from how hard she was clenching her fists.” There was a look of great surprise in her eyes. I’d even say that she looked a tad panicked.”

“After going through all that trouble to change her appearance and return from Mosgravia, of course she’d want to ensure her past stays completely hidden.

Through gritted teeth, Sean continued, “But the name ‘Liana Gardner has been part of her identity her entire life. She can’t just erase it. She’ll react instinctively if someone suddenly calls out her real name.”

Alyssa’s mind raced with the flood of information.

“Liana became Sheryl, who then became Justin’s private physician. If Justin is Sir, that would mean Sheryl and Jameson are his accomplices.

“Sheryl and Justin returned to Solana City and Walsh Group. They’re here to cause chaos. Hiding Grover must be part of their plan.

“That hospital and its terminally ill patients… it could all be a cover for something dark and terrifying.”

Alyssa thought back to how she and Jeremy had uncovered Jameson’s role as the mastermind behind the clinical human experimentation that had caused widespread panic in Solana City. Now, it seemed Justin might have been orchestrating everything from the shadows.

As Alyssa pictured Justin’s elegant, gentlemanly demeanor, a chill ran down her spine, spreading to her limbs. In her mind, his seemingly pure face became grotesque, as though swarming with unseen horrors. What in the world was Justin trying to do?

If he wanted Walsh Group, he only needed to target Jeremy. What was his real plan?

Sean’s voice broke her thoughts. “Ms. Alyssa, there’s something wrong with that hospital. Should we inform Mr. Cyrus and have the authorities handle this?”

“No. We can’t alert them just yet.”

Alyssa’s expression darkened as she shook her head. “Do you think they wouldn’t have a backup plan? They’ve infiltrated the prison system; what’s stopping them from having insiders in the police force?

“If the authorities get involved, they’ll clear the hospital before anyone arrives. It’ll be impossible to catch them then.”

‘Then what can we do?” Sean sighed, frustration and anger evident in his eyes.

Suddenly, Alyssa asked softly, “Isn’t Justin’s uncle, Zachary, also serving his sentence in Fifth Prison?”

That’s right. Oh, right. Ms. Alyssa, you asked me to look into Zachary, didn’t you? He’s in a special category for mentally ill inmates and is under strict protection. Only family members can visit him.’

After a long silence, Alyssa’s eyes lit up with realization. She suddenly jumped, exclaiming,” Oh, so that’s it! Oh my…”

A loud thud followed as she hit her head against the car roof. The pain brought tears to her eyes.

“Ms. Alyssa, what is it?” Sean couldn’t be bothered about anything else, his focus was entirely on uncovering the truth.

Rubbing the bruise on her head, Alyssa’s eyes gleamed sharply. “To cover their tracks, they replaced him with a fake prisoner!”

It was a quiet night, with pin drop silence filling the hospital’s VIP ward.

In the office of Jeremy’s primary physician, Sheryl placed a bank card on the coffee table and sipped her tea relaxedly.

“Ms. Gillis, what is the meaning of this?” Sebastian Bender stared at the black-colored bank card in shock.

Nonchalantly, Sheryl smiled and asked, “Mr. Jeremy’s blood test results are out. I’m sure you have identified some issues with them, haven’t you, Dr. Bender?”

Sebastian hesitated. “Indeed, there was an unusual substance detected in Mr. Jeremy’s blood sample…”

“Methamphetamine, for instance?”

Sebastian cried out in shock, “How did you know that?”

To be frank, you’ve had your suspicions ever since you started treating Mr. Jeremy, haven’t you? His symptoms are more like those of drug addiction rather than a simple headache. Am Iright?” Sheryl pressed on, a sinister gleam in her eyes.

Sebastian’s hands trembled as he held his teacup. He argued, “Patients under extreme pain could also show symptoms such as acute headaches. It might not necessarily indicate a drug addiction.’

The president of Walsh Group was being suspected of a drug addiction?

If word of this got out, not only would Walsh Group and Solana City be completely shaken, but Sebastian himself might not even survive.

He had to be careful with his words!

With a loud thunk, Sheryl placed her teacup down and lifted her lips into a cold smile.

What if these were indeed symptoms of drug addiction?”

Sebastian broke out in cold sweat. With a quiver in his voice, he probed, “Ms. Gillis, what are you actually trying to say?”

“I want you, as Mr. Jeremy’s primary physician, to issue a conclusive test report proving that his condition results from drug abuse. Make sure to indicate each of the relevant components clearly.

There are 10 million dollars on this card. Consider it a down payment. Once your work is complete, you will receive another 20 million dollars. It will be most worthwhile for you.”

Sheryl tilted her chin upward slightly, scrutinizing Sebastian with a prideful gaze. “That’s 30 million dollars, Dr. Bender. It’s an amount you wouldn’t earn even if you toiled away in this field for years.

“Plus, I know you’re in desperate need of money. Your son, studying overseas, beat someone up so badly that they were severely injured.

“Right now, he remains in the detention center, waiting for you to secure the vast sum needed for his release. And I reckon you’ve already spent a considerable amount on your wife’s bone marrow transplant surgery, haven’t you?”

Sebastian’s eyes widened in shock. He felt completely exposed, as if Sheryl had stripped him bare. She had a clear hold over his weaknesses. There was no way he could refuse her.

“You’re hesitating because you’re afraid of smearing Jeremy’s name. You’re worried about offending him,’ Sheryl observed.

A relaxed smile spread across her face. ‘Don’t worry. Firstly, you’ve discovered a prohibited substance in Jeremy’s blood sample, so you won’t be making a false accusation. Secondly, Walsh Group will soon be welcoming its new era.

“New era?”

Sheryl’s eyes twinkled with a proud gleam. In an imprudent tone, she said, ‘Jeremy’s health has been deteriorating. Whether he’s been taking banned medications or abusing drugs, he no longer deserves his position. He can no longer be president of the corporation.

“Mr. Justin has now returned. He’s the legitimate eldest son of the Walsh’s. His health is improving daily, and his capabilities match Jeremy’s. If Jeremy steps down, Mr. Justin can surely take over Walsh Group completely and become the sole heir.

When that time comes, you will have made a major contribution, Dr. Bender. Mr. Justin will see that you are well taken care of in the future.

Sebastian was on edge and highly strung. But he knew he had no other choice. It was simply his misfortune to be caught in the battle between the Walsh brothers. So, he could only accept the card with resignation.

Jeremy remained unconscious. Newton insisted on staying at the hospital to keep watch over him. Despite his advanced age, he forced himself to remain vigilant. No matter who tried to persuade him otherwise, he remained steadfast. He made such a fuss that Javier had no choice but to also stay back at the hospital.

Nevertheless, Justin could tell that Newton was insisting on keeping watch, despite his failing health, because he didn’t want Justin to have a chance to harm Jeremy.

As Justin sat outside the hospital ward, he gazed at the unconscious Jeremy through the glass window on the door.

He curled his lips upward in a subtle smile.

“In a casual voice, Justin remarked, “Grandpa, you really do spoil Jeremy. But, how much longer can you continue this?”

His smile was no longer bright. Instead, it was cold and sly. With an infinitely deep look in his eyes, he continued, ‘Don’t you know that the kinder you are toward him, the more you are dragging him down?”

“Mr. Justin.”

Sheryl hurried toward Justin. ‘The matter is settled.”
