Eddie: [Hey, the flowers are blooming beautifully. Do you like them? Want me to bring some over for you?]

It was only when Vicki spotted the corner of her own house in the photo that she remembered Eddie was actually her neighbor.

She replied: [They’re gorgeous. How’s your knee, Eddie?]

Eddie typed: [It’s not hurting much anymore. My wound is scabbing over. Do you want to come see the flowers?)

Vicki replied soon enough: [Sure, I’ll swing by.]

Eddie was still recovering from his injury, and it was all because of her. Now that he was living right next door, she felt she really ought to go check on him..

So, carrying a big bag of snacks and tonics, Vicki walked into Eddie’s villa.

She put the bag down on the coffee table. “Eddie, these are all for you. They can help you recover.”

Seeing how much she cared, Eddie couldn’t help but smile. “Thanks.”

Vicki shook her head with a smile. “No need to thank me.”

Eddie slowly got to his feet. “Vicki, wanna go check out the flowers now?”

Vicki nodded. “Sure.”

With his injured knee, Eddie shuffled slowly toward the yard. After a moment’s hesitation, Vicki stepped forward and gently took his arm.

“Take it slow,” she said softly.

“Okay,” he replied, his smile growing wider.

She didn’t mind being close to him at all.

Vicky wasn’t lying after all; she really didn’t hate him.

When they stepped into the yard, Eddie, thanks to his height, reached up and snapped off some flowers, handing it to Vicki. “Here, smell them.”

Vicki took them over.

As her fingers unconsciously brushed against Eddie’s pinky, something more intense flashed across his eyes.

“They smell so good,” Vicki said, breathing in the scent of the blossoms, her pure and beautiful face lit up with a bright smile.

That kind of pure, innocent smile was the greatest temptation for someone like Eddie, a man who’d seen it all when it came to women.

He watched her quietly, unable to hide the smile in his eyes.

When Vicki looked up and met Eddie’s gentle gaze, she froze for a moment.

Even though Vicki had never dated anyone before, she’d watched plenty of romance movies, so she understood exactly what that look in his eyes meant.

Their eyes met for just a split second before Vicki quickly looked away.

But her heart was beating wildly because of that very second.

‘What’s going on with me?’ Vicki wondered.

She didn’t want Eddie to notice how flustered she was, so she turned away, avoiding his eyes. “Eddie, I just remembered something I need to take care of. I’ll be leaving,” she said quickly.

Then, she ran straight out of Eddie’s villa.

When Vicki finally made it back to her own place, she pressed a hand to her chest. Even with her thick down jacket heart thumping like crazy.

“Miss, are you alright? Your face is so red,” the maid asked, her voice full of concern.

“Really?” Vicki covered her face with her hands and hurried upstairs.

She sat down at her vanity and looked into the mirror. Sure enough, her cheeks were already crimson. con, she could still feel her

Not only were her cheeks red, but even her eyes looked a little pink. She totally looked like a girl hopelessly crushing on someone.

Vicki quickly covered her eyes with her hands.

‘It’s just because I’ve never been in a relationship before. That’s why his

Deep down, she didn’t believe she had feelings for Eddie.

And she was certain about it. gaze is making me feel this way,’ Vicki told herself.

Eddie watched as Vicki practically bolted out of his villa.

A knowing smile spread across his face.

As a lady-killer and a top-notch psychologist, Eddie knew exactly what Vicki’s reactions meant.

It turned out Vicki didn’t hate him; she actually had a bit of a crush on him

But she was clearly trying to avoid him, or maybe she just hadn’t figured out her own feelings yet.

Eddie exhaled slowly.

He knew what Vicki needed most right now was some time and space.

Therefore, Eddie went straight back to Steerfall.

The New Year was just around the corner, and the Saunders were all back home for the holiday.

Bradley also came back with Cameron.

However, they would be heading back to Viremont on New Year’s Eve.

The whole family was lounging on the living room sofas, chatting and catching up.

Cameron was sitting right next to Bradley.

Camilla picked up a piece of mango and offered it to Cameron. “Cam, try this.”

“I… Ugh!”

She’d been about to refuse, but Camilla had already shoved the mango under her nose. The sickly sweet smell hit her full force, and she instantly felt a wave of nausea.

“Cam,” Bradley became worried as he gently patted her back.

Cameron covered her mouth with one hand and waved the other, trying to tell the others that she was fine.

Camilla pulled her hand back. “Wait, Cam, are you expecting?”

All at once, everyone whipped their heads around to stare at Cameron and Bradley.

Cameron, now feeling a bit better, nodded and said, “Yeah.”

“Congratulations!” Camilla said with a big smile.

“Congrats to Brad and Cam!” someone called out.

“Way to go, Brad! Congrats, Cam!” another voice joined in.

Soon, everyone chimed in with their congratulations.

“When did this happen?” Beth hurried over to Cameron, grabbing her hand. “Have you been having a lot of symptoms? Are you feeling okay?”

Cameron smiled, “I’m just three months along. We were actually planning to tell you all today.”

“This is awesome! Looks like I’m getting a new nephew or niece soon!” Reginald said, grinning from ear to ear.

Everyone was over the moon.

Beth held Cameron’s hand, reminding her of all the things she needed to watch out for. Then she turned to Bradley. “Brad, make sure you take good care of Cam. Pregnancy is no joke for a woman.”

Bradley tightened his hold on Cameron. “Of course, I’ll take good care of her.”

Cameron leaned against Bradley’s shoulder. “Beth, don’t worry. Brad’s been taking great care of me. Ever since I got pregnant, he’s barely left my side.”

Bradley had even stopped letting her go to the lab at the pharmaceutical company, worried the meds or chemicals could be bad for her and the baby.

Since it was their first baby, everyone was super nervous.

Jacqueline was busy every day, making all kinds of nourishing meals for Cameron.

Now, Cameron was under special protection.
