Filed to story: That Campus Prince Is a Girl

In the VIP ward, Bradley lay on a big bed, his head wrapped in white bandages, his face deathly pale, and his eyes tightly shut.

“Brad?” Cameron rushed over without hesitation.

When she was about three feet from the bed, Cameron slowed down, her steps growing lighter as she quietly approached.

The whole Saunders family had been in the room, but when they saw Cameron arrive, they all quietly and knowingly slipped out.

Only Damian, who was there as the doctor, stayed behind.

Cameron sat at Bradley’s bedside. His right hand had an IV drip, so she carefully took his left hand in hers.

Cameron asked softly, “How’s Brad doing?”

“Cam,” Damian reassured her, one hand in his lab coat pocket, “Brad was lucky-he only suffered a head injury. Even though he’s still unconscious, he’s out of danger now. He should wake up by this evening, so try not to worry too much.”

Cameron pressed her lips together. She casually placed her fingers on Bradley’s wrist to check his pulse. After a long moment, the furrow in her brow finally relaxed.

Cameron pulled her hand back and turned to Damian. “How did Brad get into a car accident?”

Bradley’s a skilled driver, and there were hardly any cars on the road at that hour. It just doesn’t add up. carace doesn onpart

Damian said, “According to the surveillance footage from early this morning, that truck had been parked there since midnight, lying in wait. As soon as it spotted Brad’s car, it gunned it and slammed right into him, then took off.”

Cameron frowned at his words.

Damian continued, “The police found the truck about 18 miles from the scene. Both the license plate and the truck itself had been scrapped. The police have preliminarily classified the case as murder, but they don’t have any leads on the suspect yet.”

Damian told Cameron everything without holding back. For one thing, he already considered Cameron part of the Saunders family. For another, she seemed to be holding it together.

Upon hearing what Damian said, Cameron’s frown deepened. “Has Brad offended anyone recently?” she asked.

Damian let out a sigh. “Brad’s work as a lawyer has inevitably hurt a lot of people’s interests, but with the Saunders family behind him, nothing’s ever happened all these years.

“This time, we really don’t know who would have the guts to try and kill him.”

Someone was clearly out to kill Bradley. Thankfully, his car was well-built, and Bradley reacted fast-plus, luck was on his side he only ended up with a head injury.

Cameron just frowned, saying nothing. Just then, her phone buzzed. Right now, she really didn’t feel like checking her messages.

About half an hour later, Cameron finally fished out her phone and checked her messages. When she saw the message, Cameron’s grip on the phone suddenly tightened.

[Cameron, I’ll make you taste what it’s like to lose the one you love most.]

‘What the hell? It’s me. The person is coming after me. But instead, he targeted Bradley. Who could it be?’ Cameron wondered anxiously

Cameron’s life was as simple as it gets-just going back and forth between work and home.

Yet this person said he would make Cameron taste what it was like to lose the one she loved most, too.

‘When did I ever offend him?’ Cameron thought.

There was no way to trace the sender. Cameron had no idea where to even start. She decided to send a reply. [Sorry, but you’re going to be disappointed.]

The response came almost instantly. [Oh, he’s still alive?]

Cameron blinked in surprise. She hadn’t expected the sender to actually reply.

Cameron stood up at once and turned to Damian. “Damian, could you look after Brad for me? There’s something I need to take care of.”

Cameron returned to the Yates Manor. The house was empty. She headed straight to her room, opened her laptop, connected her phone, and her fingers danced swiftly across the keyboard.

Cameron fired off another message. [Bradley’s just fine, but you’re the one who’s about to meet your end.j

[Dream on,] came the instant reply.

Cameron’s fingers flew over the keys, and in no time, she quickly tracked down the person’s IP address.

Her lips pressed into a cold line as she grabbed her phone, headed downstairs, and drove straight to the address she’d just found.

Milena, lounging in her robe on the sofa, scoffed at the message from Cameron.

‘Huh? She wants me dead?’ Milena thought with a sneer. ‘Cameron is dreaming!

Milena was nothing if not cautious. When she contacted the truck driver, she bundled herself up tightly and made sure to meet him somewhere with no cameras around.

And she paid him in cash. No one would ever think to suspect her.

The phone number she used to talk to Cameron was a burner she’d bought, and on top of that, she’d masked the number. There was no way Cameron could ever track her down.

Milena didn’t believe for a second that Bradley was really okay, no matter what Cameron said.

Milena had seen the news herself. Bradley still hadn’t woken up. But Cameron just wouldn’t admit it.

However, just over half an hour later, Milena’s bedroom door was kicked open with a violent crash.

Milena’s shoulders jerked violently, and she whipped her head around, her face instantly going pale. And standing there was none other than

Cameron.

Cameron was dressed in a red coat, her hair flowing down her back, her beautiful face accentuated by flawless makeup.

Cameron was supposed to go on a date with Bradley today. But right now, her face was icy, her eyes sharp as knives.

That look made Milena’s heart tremble. But she quickly pulled herself together.

Milena glared at Cameron, arms crossed as she looked her up and down. “Oh, look who it is. After all these years, the first thing you do is bust down my door? Is that really how you say hello now?”

Cameron strode into the room, her face unreadable as she fixed her gaze on Milena’s obviously fake composure. “Milena, tha son who stirred up trouble outside my company more than six months ago was also your doing, wasn’t it?” er and

Back then, Cameron had just assumed it was/her competitors trying to make trouble because she was making too many waves. But after Bradley’s accident, she finally connected the dots.

For a split second, a crack appeared in Milena’s carefully crafted mask, but she quickly pulled herself together and played dumb. “What are you even talking about?

“What trouble? I only got back to the country at the start of the year. Cameron, wasn’t it enough for you to get our parents locked up? Are coming after me now, too?”

Not long ago, Milena had visited her parents in prison. They looked like shadows of themselves, wasting away in that hellhole. And it was att because of Cameron.

But Cameron completely ignored Milena’s rambling, her gaze icy and sharp. “Milenia, when you couldn’t touch me, you went after Bradley instead. Never mind what I might do to you. Do you really think the Saunders family will just let you walk away?”

Milena’s face flushed with rage. “Cameron, don’t make things up. Bradley? I have no idea what you’re even talking about.”

Cameron couldn’t be bothered to argue. She raised her phone and said coldly, “Milena, aren’t these the texts I sent you?”

“What is that? Of course not.” Milena denied it immediately. She didn’t have the guts to admit anything. She only ever had the nerve to scheme from the shadows.

Cameron gave a cold laugh. “Milena, don’t bother denying it just yet. Save your explanations for the police.”

Milena froze. “You called the cops?”

Hardly had Milena finished speaking when two uniformed officers appeared at the doorway.

Milena’s fingers curled up nervously. Though panic was swirling inside her, she forced herself to look calm.

‘I didn’t leave any loose ends. Even if the police show up, they won’t find any evidence. There’s no need to panic, Milena tried to reassure herself inwardly.

“Who’s Milena Wallace?” one of the officers asked, flashing his badge at Cameron and Milena before his gaze swept over them.

Milena instinctively took a step back.

But Cameron stepped forward. “Officer, I’m the one who called. She’s Milena. I suspect she orchestrated the car accident at the highway intersection last night.”

The two officers immediately turned their attention to Milena.

Milena took another step or two back. “It wasn’t me. I swear, it wasn’t me,” she blurted out. She shook her head frantically, denying it as fast as she could.

The officers didn’t address Milena and instead turned to Cameron. “What text messages are you talking about?”

Cameron immediately handed his phone to them.

After reading the messages, the officers remained calm and asked Milena, “Did you send these texts?”

“No.” Milena immediately denied it.

Cameron frowned. Her gaze swept quickly around the room before landing on the sofa, where two phones were lying. She rushed over and grabbed the phones.

“Cameron?” Milena yelled, lunging to grab the phones back.

‘I was too careless,’ Milena thought, regret flooding her. ‘I never imagined Cameron would actually track me down here.
