He strode over to Cameron and laced his fingers with hers, showing he was her boyfriend.

Their fingers were intertwined together, just like always.

Cameron looked back at him with a dazzling smile. “Brad, let’s go sit over there.”

There were plenty of benches along the riverside, and they sat down on one of them.

Cameron quietly gazed out at the river, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

With a smile, Bradley asked, “What’s got you smiling, Cam?”

Cameron turned to him. “Brad, do you know why the last time I came here for some fresh air?”

Bradley shook his head, naturally unaware of it.

He really wanted to remember everything he’d been through with Cameron, but Eddie was unwilling to give him a hand.

“Was I with you that time?” Bradley asked.

Cameron nodded. “Yeah.”

Bradley was curious. “Then why did we come here?”

Cameron said, “Back then, I was desperate to cut ties with my adoptive parents, but they just kept refusing. In the end. with your help, I finally got them to disown me.”

Bradley vaguely remembered Jackson, his law firm partner, mentioning that he’d once helped a girl named Cameron Wallace deny her adoptive parents.

Cameron looked up at the blazing sun. “You know what, Brad? That was the happiest day in all eighteen years of my life. We were together all day, flying kites by the river. That night, we felt the river breeze and even had roast lamb on the boat

“That day,” Cameron leaned her head against Bradley’s shoulder, “I was genuinely happy.”

It was Bradley who had given her happiness that day.

And on her very first night in Room 316, Elijah disdained her for being a slacker and warned her not to mess up his study time, while Xander tried to barge into the bathroom when she was bathing. Only Bradley got her out of trouble.

When she was reborn, Bradley was the very first person to show her any real kindness.

When she had nowhere to go, it was also Bradley who lent her a huge sum so she could buy a place of her own.

And later, he even bought a castle just so she could raise the tiger Pearl there.

Again and again, he was always there for her, helping her every time she was in need.

Cameron wasn’t someone with a heart of stone, but she’d been uncertain of her feelings back then. Even Amelia, out of the picture, could see through her better than she could herself.

Leaning against Bradley’s shoulder, Cameron gazed out at the river, feeling at peace.

She’d never really imagined what the one she loved would look like.

But after seven years of keeping her distance from everyone around her, she realized that, for her, it should be Bradley.

With him, she always felt happy and reassured.

As Cameron leaned in, Bradley put his arm around her, drawing her close to him. With a smile, he asked, “Cam, are you happy because I’m here with you?”

Cameron looked up at him and nodded. “Yes.”

Bradley smiled softly, then bent down and kissed her forehead lightly. “If only I could remember.”

Cameron nestled against his chest and said, “It’s okay if you can’t. We’ll just make even more wonderful memories, together.”

Bradley subtly tightened his arm around her shoulder, and they both remained silent, sitting there quiet! the river. watching

By ten o’clock, it was getting much hotter.

Cameron said, “Brad, let’s find somewhere cooler to hang out.”

New comments You have negeritage t

At this rate, if they stayed out here any longer, they’d get heatstroke.

“Okay,” Bradley replied.

They got in the car and left the riverfront. This time, Cameron sat in the front passenger seat.

Bradley smiled and asked, “Cam, where do you want to go?”

Cameron smiled, “Where were you planning to take me?”

Bradley grinned, “Alright, I get it

He pulled into the parking lot of the refreshingly cool. usiest mall in Viremont. Inside, the air-conditioning was cranked up, and it felt

Without wasting any time, Bradley took Cameron straight to the jewelry store on the first floor.

The saleswoman greeted them with extra enthusiasm, while Bradley held Cameron’s hand tightly as they walked in.

Cameron asked, “Are you getting something?”

Bradley replied, “I’m here to buy you a ring.”

Hearing that, Cameron was stunned.

‘We’ve only been dating for less than a week, yet he’s already gonna buy me a ring?’ Cameron thought in disbelief.

Bradley smiled, “Don’t worry, Cam. It’s not a wedding ring. I just want to get you something to wear, so everyone knows you’re spoken for.”

Bradley wasn’t going to buy ready-made wedding rings anyway.

His third brother, Eric, owned a company that bought two diamond mines overseas, so they’d got an endless supply of raw materials.

Today, he just brought Cameron here to measure her finger size.

That way, when the time was ripe, he could directly ask Eric to design a custom wedding ring just for her.

Of course, he couldn’t let Cameron in on this yet. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a real surprise.

Cameron didn’t know what to say when hearing his xson.

‘Let everyone know I’m spoken for?’ She thought. ‘Is he really that afraid someone else will try to hit on me?”

Cameron said, “Alright, pick one then.”/

What Cameron meant was for him to just pick whichever rin

But in the end, Bradley went straight for the priciest diamond ring in the store, costing 230 thousand dollars.

Money wasn’t an issue for Cameron anymore-230 grands was nothing to speak of to her now.

Still, she turned him down. Cameron shook her head. “Brad, I don’t really like that design.”

Bradley nodded. “Which one do you like, Cam?”

Cameron said, “I prefer gold.”

Bradley was confused when hearing that.

‘Aren’t all girls supposed to love diamonds?’ Bradley wondered. ‘Am I just behind the times?”

In the end, at Cameron’s request, Bradley bought her a gold ring that cost just a few thousand dollars.

Cameron smiled, “It’s very nice.”

Honestly, she thought it looked even better than that pricey diamond rock.

Bradley couldn’t help but feel it was a bit too cheap. So he even picked out a gold bracelet for Cameron.

Cameron wanted to buy him a gift in return, but Bradley turned her down.

He grinned, “Relax, Cam. Even if I don’t wear a ring, no one would dare try to hit on me.”

There weren’t many people bold enough to chase someone from his law firm. But if anyone really wanted to have a try, they’d better make sure they’d got the brains for it first.

Cameron couldn’t help but laugh.

After leaving the jewelry store, they passed by the arcade’s claw machines on the first floor, and Cameron stopped in her tracks.

Bradley smiled, “Wanna play? I’ll go get some tokens.”
