But she was powerless to do anything about it.

She thought time would heal everything.

And after a few years, Bradley would start a new life.

But seven years had gone by, and instead of moving on, Bradley ended up meeting Cameron again.

‘Is the fate already sealed?’ she wondered.

Bradley’s face was blank as he fell into deep thought. “So, back then, how far did things go between me and Cameron? Did we actually get together?”

Beth nodded. “From what Eric told me, you two… were living together.”

Bradley seemed surprised. “We actually lived together?”

“I think so,” Beth said.

Bradley was speechless.

He shot to his feet and strode out of the room.

“Brad, where are you going?” Beth called after him.

“I’m going to find Cameron,” he said without looking back.

Beth watched as Bradley hurried away, her eyes brimming with tears. She murmured softly, “I’m sorry, Brad.”

Cameron Wallace had become Cameron Yates.

Now, seven years had passed.

“Is Cameron still single?’ she wondered.

Beth didn’t dare bring it up; she was afraid Bradley would be let down.

Bradley had just learned from Beth that he and Cameron had even lived together, but then all his memories of her were erased, and he was sent overseas to study.

Then what about Cameron?

Had she tried to reach out to him, only for his family to intercept her messages?

Bradley felt as if a thousand needles were pricking his heart, the pain radiating through every inch of his body.

As he sat in the car, Bradley suddenly froze.

He couldn’t remember anything about Cameron.

‘Who exactly is Cameron?’ Bradley wondered.

‘Where could she be now?’

Oh, right. They were high school classmates.

Bradley quickly pulled out his phone and logged onto the Langford Academy website. Right away, his eyes landed on the campus celebrities list, and at the very top was a girl.

“Wait, isn’t that Cameron Yates, the girl I ran into just the other day?’ Bradley thought.

Next to Cameron Yates’ name, there was another name: [Cameron Wallace]

Bradley frowned.

“What the hell is going on?’ he thought, completely baffled.

Bradley clicked on the entry.

Information about Cameron Yates popped up.

[Cameron Yates, formerly known as Cameron Wallace. She was the top scorer of the 2016 SATs.]

[She once enrolled at Langford Academy disguised as a boy, and in the last semester of her senior year, she rose from the very bottom of her class to become the top scorer in the entire state.]

[After graduating from college, she changed her name to Cameron Yates and joined Aurevia Biotech. Not long ago, she developed a groundbreaking treatment for leukemia that made her famous worldwide…]

Bradley was completely floored, his mind going blank for a moment.

‘Cameron Wallace is Cameron Yates.’ Bradley’s mind reeled.

That was the girl he’d run into just the other day.

No wonder when he saw her for the first time, his heart had pounded so hard for no reason at all.

Even with all his memories wiped, just being near her still made his heart race.

And her indifferent attitude made sense. She must be mad at him because he had vanished without a word.

Bradley was drowning in guilt.

He hadn’t communicated well with his family, and that was what led to the situation today.

He had forgotten everything.

His family was satisfied as well.

But what about Cameron?

Her life must have been so painful.

She had asked him a whole string of questions yesterday, so she must have realized he’d lost his memory.

No wonder he’d answered all her questions honestly yesterday. If it had been anyone else, he would’ve just dodged their questions or given them the runaround.

It turned out that they had once been in love.

Bradley collected himself. Right now, the only thing he wanted was to go to Viremont and find Cameron.

He had to tell her that he hadn’t disappeared on purpose.

He floored it all the way there, and a little over an hour later, he pulled up to the hotel where Cameron was staying.

He marched straight up to the front desk. “Hi, could you check if Ms. Yates is still staying here?”

The receptionist smiled and shook her head. “Sorry, sir, but that’s private information. I can’t help you with that.”

Bradley frowned.

If she wasn’t willing to help, he certainly couldn’t force her.

All he needed was a computer, and he could find out on his own.

Bradley stepped out of the hotel, planning to grab his laptop from the car, when he ran right into Cameron.

It was a nice day, and Cameron was wearing a long houndstooth dress, her hands casually tucked in her pockets.

She looked laid-back, beautiful, and just a little bit sassy.

Bradley stopped in his tracks, a slow smile spreading across his face. “Cameron.”

Thank goodness she hadn’t left yet.

If she had left, he would have had no idea where to look for her.

Cameron froze for a second, surprised. “You remember me?”

Bradley hadn’t recognized her just yesterday.

“Has his memory come back that quickly?’ she wondered. ‘Or had he just been pretending yesterday?’

Bradley shook his head. “No.”

He wasn’t lying.

For now, he couldn’t remember anything that had happened between them.

Cameron looked at Bradley in silence.

Bradley smiled and said, “Cameron, can we sit down and talk?”

Cameron fell silent for a while, but she didn’t refuse.
