Filed to story: That Campus Prince Is a Girl
Amelia glanced at Cameron, who was beside her, then suddenly linked arms with her. “Why don’t you ask my boyfriend what he thinks about it?”
Cameron froze. Lila and Sienna were both stunned by Amelia’s move as well, but neither of them said anything to call her out.
“Boyfriend?” The tall guy stared at Cameron in disbelief. “Him? He’s the same height as you.”
With Amelia in heels and Cameron in flats, they really did look about the same height.
One of the guys snickered, “Seriously? That’s your taste? This guy looks way too girly. You into pretty boys or something?”
Amelia caught the way they were looking down on Cameron, and her expression instantly turned solemn. “Watch your mouth!”
Lila was pissed too. “You guys are out of line.”
Sienna didn’t say anything and just stood quietly to the side.
“I’m just stating facts. Look at him. He clearly looks like a girl,” one of them sneered.
Cameron brushed off Amelia’s hand and clenched her fist. “Let me see just how ‘manly’ you really are.”
The smug look disappeared from the guy’s face as he took a cautious step back. There was something in Cameron’s eyes that was fierce and dangerous.
But then he thought, ‘He looks so skinny, and he’s half a head shorter than me. What am I even scared of?’
With that, he stepped forward again. “What, you wanna fight me? Do you even know your own limits?”
Before he could say more, he suddenly found himself lifted right off the ground. Cameron had grabbed him by the collar and hoisted him up with one hand, holding him in the air.
“W-what are you doing?” he stammered, clearly terrified.
Cameron just snorted and tossed him straight onto his tall friend, and the two of them crashed to the ground together.
Meanwhile, the girls just watched the scene in shock. Cameron was way too badass. She was a girl, yet she just picked up a guy who was way bigger than her with only one hand.
The two punks scrambled to their feet and bolted, not daring to look back.
Lila burst out laughing. “What a bunch of wimps.”
“I can’t believe guys like that actually go to our school,” Sienna muttered with a sigh. “And this is supposed to be the best university in the country?”
“Being smart doesn’t make some people decent,” Amelia added coolly.
Cameron, totally unbothered, took out a packet of disinfectant wipes from her pocket and calmly cleaned her hands.
Amelia glanced at her. “Thanks for earlier.”
Cameron replied, “Don’t expect me to do it again.”
Amelia said nothing else.
After the welcome party, life went back to normal.
When Cameron’s classmates in pharmacology found out she was actually a girl, their jaws practically hit the floor.
Cameron was already used to these kinds of reactions.
One Saturday, Austin, whom she hadn’t seen in ages, suddenly appeared in front of her. As luck would have it, she’d also promised to show Elijah around her campus that day.
Cameron was showing Elijah around Stellanford University. As the top school in the country, the campus was just as impressive as everyone said.
However, Elijah couldn’t care less about the scenery. His eyes stayed locked on Cameron the entire time..
It felt like forever since he’d last seen her. And just texting her had taken him ages of overthinking, afraid that he would give himself away.
He’d come up with a million excuses before finally mustering the courage to ask if he could visit.
When Cameron agreed, Elijah was so excited that he barely slept the night before.
Juno
He arrived at Stellanford University first thing in the morning but didn’t text her right away. He waited until he figured she’d be awake before finally sending the message.
They had breakfast together in the cafeteria before exploring more of the university.
“Elijah.” Cameron stopped walking and looked at him.
“Hm?” Elijah stopped in his tracks too.
Cameron frowned in confusion. “Why do you keep staring at me?”
Elijah froze for a moment. Then, he turned his head away, and his ears turned red instantly.
A million questions raced through his mind. ‘Was it that obvious? I thought I was doing a good job of hiding it. What if she hates me for how I feel?’
Before Elijah could say anything, Cameron’s phone, which was in her pocket, started ringing.
It was a call from Lila. “Cameron, someone just sent you red roses.”
Cameron was stunned, thinking, ‘Red roses?’
She hadn’t exactly gone out of her way to hide that she was a girl since starting college, but she still dressed pretty androgynously. Who could be sending her roses?
Lila continued, “The card says it’s from Austin. Amelia said he’s your high school classmate.”
Cameron had no words. She just wondered why Austin couldn’t just leave her alone.
Austin seemed to have already gotten rid of Samuel, that big problem. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have had the time to bother Cameron. She thought Samuel was such a loser.
Cameron said coldly, “Throw it away.”
“What?” Lila looked at the large bunch of red roses on the table. “Throw it away? These are 999 red roses. It’s such a pity to throw them away.”
Cameron said, “Well, just deal with them as you like.”
“Er…” Lila walked to the window, took a look, and then said, “Your high-school classmate is waiting for you downstairs of the dormitory.”
Cameron was speechless.
Lila looked at Austin and objectively commented, “Cameron, your high-school classmate is so handsome.”
Austin stood downstairs, tall and straight, with short, light blond hair and a charming smile on his handsome face. Girls coming and going couldn’t help but look at him.
Cameron frowned and said, “I’ll be back soon.”
She ended the call and met Elijah’s curious eyes. “Austin has come to find me. I need to go back to the dormitory now. Do you want to come with me or wander around by yourself?”
“Austin? Let me go with you.” Elijah said. He heaved a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Cameron didn’t ask about the question just now. He couldn’t find a good reason to explain why he had been looking at her.
Cameron nodded and led Elijah toward the girls’ dormitory. After arriving downstairs of the girls’ dormitory, she found that Austin was really there.
Elijah stared at the girls coming and going and the girls’ dormitory building in front of him, extremely puzzled.
The fact that Cameron was going back to the girls’ dormitory meant she lived here. In Elijah’s opinion, this was impossible.
With a sullen face, Cameron walked up to Austin and coldly questioned, “I remember I made myself quite clear. What are you doing here again?”
Hearing Cameron’s voice, Austin turned his head and saw Cameron’s angry face. The smile on his face froze a bit.
He had finally managed to deal with Samuel and immediately asked Vincent to investigate Cameron’s current situation. He came to her school to see her as soon as possible, but he didn’t expect her to have such a hurtful attitude.
Although Austin felt a bit hurt, he still smiled and said, “Cameron, girls shouldn’t get angry all the time. If a girl gets angry too often, she won’t be pretty.”
Cameron said, “Fuck off right now.”
Hearing Austin say Cameron was a girl, Elijah was completely stunned.
He felt he couldn’t understand what Austin was saying.
In fact, the smart Elijah had already understood what Austin meant. He was just too shocked to believe it.
So, Cameron was a girl. Elijah could start pursuing her openly.
This made Elijah’s heart beat uncontrollably fast, and even his palms started sweating.
Facing Cameron’s bad attitude, Austin still smiled. “Still mad at me, huh? It’s been so many days. Haven’t you calmed down yet?”
Cameron said expressionlessly, “Disappear from my sight right now.”
Austin sighed helplessly, “Cameron, can I apologize to you one more time? Please forgive me, okay?”
