Filed to story: My Husband Regrets Divorcing Me (Audrey & Cornell)
Then he started the car and sped off into the night until he was just a speck in the darkness.
Soon they arrived at Serenity Villas.
Audrey, looking at the once familiar site, nervously uttered, “I want to go home.”
Cornell turned to her, his voice devoid of emotion. “You’re home,” he stated flatly, intimidating her with his penetrating stare.
Audrey tried again, “Cornell, can I come back alone?”
Cornell remained silent, his eyes icy and unyielding.
Cornell led Audrey upstairs and gently guided her to the bathtub.
He turned on the faucet and carefully removed her clothes. His actions were focused on washing away the blood and any trace of Henley.
Audrey remained motionless, her body rigid with tension. She did not resist, fearful of Cornell’s unpredictable reactions.
Cornell emptied the bathtub, having washed Audrey’s blood stains.
Then he turned the faucet back on to fill the tub.
The water slowly rose as Cornell’s gaze met Audrey’s.
“Do you have something to tell me, Audrey?”
Audrey, surprised by his question, struggled to understand what he was asking.
She doubted he knew about her pregnancy, but at the thought, she simply shook her head. “No,” she said.
Cornell’s eyes darkened. “Are you sure you’re not hiding anything from me?”
Audrey remained silent, tight-lipped.
Cornell clenched his fists, visibly trying to control his emotions.
Henley’s last words echoed in his mind. “If I die, please take care of Audrey and the baby she’s carrying.”
The baby? Audrey was pregnant with Henley? Was Henley begging her to take care of her baby?
Cornell’s heart hardened as he looked at Audrey, who feigned calm.
He had given her a chance to speak.
After a pause, Cornell began to unbutton his shirt, with smooth, graceful movements.
Audrey, sitting in the tub, hugged her knees, her complexion paled.
She shivered slightly, and asked, “Cornell, what are you doing?”
With a cold smile, Cornell replied, “What do you think?”.
Audrey’s expression quickly changed to disbelief.
“Cornell, remember we’re not really a couple. It’s just an arrangement…”
In a sudden movement, Cornell leaned toward her and bit her shoulder.
The sight of Audrey’s trembling, the fear evident in her eyes, stirred something in Cornell.
“Did I ever promise not to touch you during our arrangement?”
Audrey was stunned. She had thought that Cornell and she shared an unspoken understanding on the matter.
Besides, Cornell’s expression then had made her feel that mentioning it would be laughed at by him. He would surely laugh at her for being narcissistic.
At that moment, Cornell fixed her hair and tucked it behind her ear. Then, mockingly, he explained, “I remarried you so I could sleep with you without breaking the law.”
He stepped into the bathtub and water splashed over the rim.
Then, he looked her in the eyes and coldly asked, “Which position do you prefer, front or back?”
Audrey’s heart raced with fear at his words. She tried to run away, but Cornell grabbed her by the ankle.
“No!” she screamed, feeling totally helpless.
Trying not to fall, she rested her hands on the edge of the tub. Her delicate skin seemed to excite Cornell even more.
No man could contain himself in that position.
The difference in height only added to the tension.
Cornell’s eyes darkened with desire. He held her around the waist with one hand and said in a husky voice, “If you don’t want to get hurt, cooperate.”
Audrey’s face paled like a ghost. She wanted to turn away, but the firm grip on her ankle rendered her immobile.
Her body trembling slightly with fear, she pleaded, “Cornell, I’m not comfortable with this. You’re scaring me… Why are you doing this to me?”
She was on the verge of tears, but fought to hold them back.
“Why did you run off with Henley then?” asked Cornell, his voice cold and unyielding.
Audrey took a deep breath. The next second, tears cascaded down his cheeks and mixed with the bath water.
“No…I don’t…” he said, his voice breaking.
Cornell’s expression darkened. CCTV footage showed Henley hugging Audrey from behind near the subway station, and Audrey didn’t resist as he climbed into Henley’s car.
Cornell had used a satellite navigation system to locate Henley’s car and eventually parked behind it.
From his car, Cornell watched them get intimate for some time. It seemed that if he hadn’t intervened, they might have gotten farther in the car.
And then there was the matter of Audrey’s baby-could that be the result of their last encounter? Had Audrey become pregnant with Henley’s child before he went for treatment abroad? That would explain why Henley seemed to recover without any real treatment.
Cornell guessed he had grasped the truth.
Audrey grabbed the edge of the tub for support and said breathlessly, “Cornell, can you let me explain? I don’t…”
He stopped abruptly mid-sentence.
Cornell’s eyes reddened and his movements became more aggressive. Audrey’s attempts to explain himself quickly turned into desperate pleas for mercy.
Thinking of the baby in her womb, she dared not provoke Cornell.
Cornell, however, was mad with jealousy.
To Audrey, the night seemed endless.
When it was finally over, it was almost dawn.
Exhausted and exhausted, Audrey had to be carried to bed. She was out of breath and her knees were weak.
In desperation, she had said every sweet word she knew in the hope of appeasing him…. Those words were too shameful even to remember. She hoped they would calm Cornell down.
However, despite everything in the tub, Cornell’s desires remained unsatisfied. His demeanor changed again as he joined Audrey on the bed.
The blush on Audrey’s face after sex added to his attractiveness.
Cornell’s Adam’s apple bobbed as his desire was rekindled once again. It had been a long time since he’d fucked Audrey, and sex in the tub wasn’t enough to satisfy him.
At the sight of her gaze, Audrey’s heart sank.
The pain he felt down there was a clear sign that he couldn’t take another round.
“Cornell, Henley kidnapped me. I didn’t go with him willingly,” Audrey clarified as he remembered his earlier questions. He hoped his words would stir Cornell’s conscience and curb his impulses.
“What took you so long to answer?”. sneered Cornell.
Audrey’s complexion turned ghostly. He didn’t believe her, did he?
“I’m telling the truth. Why would I lie to you?” implored Audrey, straining to convince him.
Cornell merely responded with a grimace. If he hadn’t seen the surveillance footage before, his words might have convinced him.
“Are you saying you willingly got in the car with your kidnapper?”
Cornell asked, his tone laden with sarcasm.
He had watched the footage three times and was convinced that Audrey had shown no sign of resistance or struggle.
Even if Audrey swore he was telling the truth, he refused to believe his words.
