Especially Averi, who could clearly sense that Beata was genuinely upset now. But she suddenly felt powerless about what to say or do next.
This feeling wasn’t good at all – at least not from Averi’s perspective.
Although Yael had been protecting Beata all along, they hadn’t spent much time together up close.
While Yael understood Beata well enough, the reverse wasn’t true.
In an unequal relationship like this one where understanding was lacking on one side, it was difficult for the other party to act out their emotions like this. So when Beata expressed herself so directly and stubbornly like this now, it really surprised everyone involved.
Yael hesitated for a moment before saying, “Thank you Miss.”
Beata instantly perked up when she heard Yael address her properly again but then became even more unhappy afterwards because of it too.
She couldn’t explain why exactly but something about being called “Miss” made her feel uncomfortable inside; yet despite feeling bad about it, she still tried hard not to show any signs of distress or discomfort on her face.
Otherwise things would just become too strange between them, which would be embarrassing for everyone involved, since she cared quite a bit about saving face in most situations.
However unbeknownst to her though, Yael still managed to pick up on these subtle changes in mood regardless of how well hidden they might have seemed.
As a bodyguard, Yael can even be said to know Beata better than River. A slight expression on her face can let Yael know whether Beata was happy or unhappy.
Originally, this wasn’t a problem. As a little girl, it was very normal to have mood swings, but Yael could clearly feel that Beata’s unhappiness was related to him.
This made Yael feel a little helpless.
He wouldn’t be unhappy because of it, but it will annoy him, or cause him a problem. Compared with this, what Yael cared more about was that Beata’s unhappiness was because of him. It was rare that he didn’t know how to solve it. And he didn’t even know what he did wrong to make Beata so unhappy.
Observing Beata without a trace, Yael thought for a long time, but he still couldn’t figure out the answer to this question.
For Yael, girls may really be the most difficult to understand in this world.
Handing the clothes to Yael, Beata said, “You’re going to wear them. Don’t hide them or throw them away. I’ll check.”
Yael took the clothes and felt an indescribable emotion in his heart.
He couldn’t describe this feeling. It wasn’t the first time a girl had bought him something, but it was the first time he couldn’t handle it.
In order not to make Beata unhappy, Yael nodded and said, “Okay.”
With just one word, Yael could clearly feel that Beata was really happy.
Somehow his anxious mood was also calmed down by this.
Well then, well then. Just make a little girl happy. If this can make her happy, what was wrong with it?
Yael didn’t return to his original position afterwards but instead followed Beata and Averi as requested by Beata.
Actually, Beata was guilty because she always felt that if she let Yael go, Averi would bring up the matter about him again.
Beata now felt that maybe there wasn’t anything between her and Yael originally, but being mentioned so many times had made it into an issue now.
It was like teasing someone into making something happen in a way.
She really wasn’t ready for how to deal with this matter yet nor did she know how to solve it either.
So in order not be asked any questions about it anymore, Beata can only sacrifice Yael.
However, her approach was too obvious. Not only was everything seen through at once, but now there was no way not think more about it.
Averi actually regretted bringing up this matter with Beata right now because things were fine before but now…
With Yael following beside them, there were places where they can’t easily go shopping anymore.
The time pointed towards dinner. Suddenly, good-hearted Beata thought of her brother and still hadn’t figured out what happened between River and Averi, causing River to upset her for no reason at all.
Looking at Averi who seemed okay right now, Beata asked, “Averi, do you want to go see my brother?”
“What?”Averi looked suspiciously at Beata, wondering why she suddenly asked such a question.
Beata said, “My brother seems very busy today so he probably hasn’t eaten yet. Do you want to give him some food?”
Averi really didn’t think about it that way at first, but now that Beata brought up like this, Averi was quite moved.
She would not think that the unhappiness with River today was all River’s fault. On the contrary, she herself had a big problem, and Averi was very clear about this.
It was precisely because of this that Averi really wanted to go there after Beata made this suggestion.
Seeing Averi who was obviously moved, Beata said with a smile, “Let’s go, let’s go there together. I’ll accompany you there.”
Averi said, “Let’s see what we can buy first.”
Beata said, “I want to eat hairy crabs from the Harlequin Cuisine, and my brother must also want to eat them.”
Averi didn’t hold back, and laughed out loud.
Even the corners of Yael’s lips curled up unconsciously, which was really cute for Beata.
Beata frowned, looked at the two with dissatisfaction, and said, “What I said is the truth. My brother and
I have pretty similar tastes.”
Averi nodded and said, “Yes, yes, you’re right.”
She almost died laughing. How could this little girl be so cute?
Originally, Averi drove with Beata, but now Beata had called Yael over and made him the driver. Averi was happy to relax in the back seat with Beata and discuss what else they can buy besides the crabs at the Harlequin Cuisine. Beata rattled off a list of things she wanted to eat, all of which were clearly not
River’s favorites, especially sweets. But that didn’t stop her from wanting them herself.
The car pulled into the Harlequin Cuisine parking lot and Averi said, “To save time, you go buy desserts; I’ll go to the Harlequin Cuisine.” Beata nodded in agreement.
Yael naturally followed Beata; she was his top priority even though Averi was River’s wife and he had been assigned to protect her as well. Of course, River also arranged for people to protect Averi so Yael can follow along with Beata without any burden.
When they were together before with Averi around, there was no strange feeling between them, but now it was just her and Yael walking side by side, which made things feel weird for some reason.
Especially since Yael had always been protecting her from behind the scenes, although she knew there were people like him around her all the time, she never felt uncomfortable before this moment.
Now that Yael walked so close beside her, it felt strange somehow, even though it was what she asked for. However, she tried hard not to show this strange feeling on her face but cannot notice how red her ears had become because of it.
In fact, Yael wasn’t walking very close beside her at all – he was actually two steps behind on an angle where he can see how red Beata’s ears had become more than anyone else could, including when she was inside the clothing store just now!
This deepened his gaze considerably as he realized something might be happening here beyond just protection duties or friendship alone…
Of course he didn’t want to think too much about it since that would only lead down a dangerous path if taken too far!
They entered a dessert shop which wasn’t really his type of place, especially this one decorated entirely in pink girly style from signboard outside right through every inch inside.
Beata was so harmonious standing inside, but when he walked in, it made him feel uncomfortable.
This kind of uneasiness made Yael’s aura around him a little bit colder.
Beata didn’t pay attention at first, and went straight to line up, thinking about what she wanted to eat.
However, it didn’t take long for Beata to notice the whispers in the store.
She swept across a group of girls in small groups without any trace, their eyes were all focused on the same place, and they were all discussing the same person.
Yael.
Beata suddenly felt an unpleasant feeling welling up.
This feeling was like when she thought that Yael’s appearance was suitable for becoming a big star in the entertainment industry, but her desire for dominance surged up again, making her very uncomfortable.
Beata rolled her eyes and didn’t want Yael to be discussed like a monkey in a zoo.
Since she was the one who let him in this store, she had to protect him herself.
The Knights were all so defensive.
So, Beata straightened her expression, and called out delicately, “Yael, come and help me take a look.”
As soon as the sound came out, even Beata herself couldn’t help but shiver. She couldn’t understand why she made such a sound, it was simply…
Yael was also stunned, and never expected Beata to call him like that.
Usually, she called him Yael. Of course, even this title only appeared once every few years.
Now being called “Yael” in such a coquettish way by Beata really caught Yael off guard.
Seeing that Yael didn’t respond for a while, Beata pouted and walked out of the group directly towards
Yael.
She reached out and took hold of his arm saying, “Why are you ignoring me? I listened to you and stopped eating sweets.”
As she spoke, Beata leaned against Yael’s body with her sweet and coquettish demeanor. It was like an image of a girlfriend who was acting spoiled.
This caused the girls around them to turn red with envy like hungry wolves. Especially two girls who were itching to come forward and ask for Yael’s phone number were almost jealous enough to die.
Beata didn’t mind those resentful glances directed at her; she only cared about one thing – keeping other people away from Yael. Even if he wasn’t really hers right now, but since he was here in front of her eyes, no one else could have him either!
Moreover, what bothered Beata more was that it was because she had called him out from hiding that he got disturbed by these people. Her heart still felt guilty about it so no matter what, she had to solve this problem herself.
Yale was surprised by what Beata did but soon found himself smiling uncontrollably too.
He wasn’t completely clueless when it came down to flirting so he knew exactly what kind of situation they were in right now- acting! So naturally Yale went along with whatever plan or act they had going on between them.
Reaching up his hand gently and rubbing against Beata’s head, he said with his tender voice which sounded carrying indulgence, “How about we try each flavor together?”
These words alone made Beata’s face tingle all over.
At this moment, Beata suddenly realized how unrealistic some parts of her novel actually were compared real life experiences ??nothing beat reality!
However, Beata remained clear headed, knowing full well that both her and Yale were just playing their roles- after all if they were going through with something, then they might as well do it properly!
