Eustace couldn’t let Danika be fooled.
He had to expose Evan’s plot.
As he thought this, Evan was in his study.
His expression was grim.
“Investigate Dr.Gaarder.See if he can be bought over.”
He could refuse treatment now, but based on Eustace’s character, he would not give up so easily.
On top of that, Danika wanted him to be examined, too.
Evan couldn’t keep refusing forever.
“Alright, sir,” Howard said.
“Do you think Eustace has already found out?” He had already secured a doctor.
It was hard not to be suspicious.
Howard frowned slightly.
“Probably not.We’ve done everything very secretively.On top of that, we have the doctors from Bardoff Hospital covering us.There shouldn’t be a problem at all.”
Even so, Evan was worried.
At that moment, someone knocked on the door.
Evan went back to normal and said, “Come in.”
Danika walked in and saw Evan and Howard.
“Evan, I’d like to talk to you.”
“Alright.Please go out,”Evan said to Howard.
Howard nodded and left the study.
But before he left, he glanced at Danika.
Danika went to Evan’s side and said, “Evan, are you alright?”
“Yeah, I am.What do you want to talk about? Eustace?” Evan asked.
He could already guess what Danika was going to say.

Danika could tell that he was still angry.She was exasperated.
“Not him.Your injuries.” Evan said nothing.
She continued, “I know you don’t like Eustace, but Dr.Gaarder is truly a specialist in his field.He’s seriously amazing.I hope you’ll let him examine you.Maybe there’s a chance for you to recover after all.”
“Is Eustace that nice? Danika, you know of the animosity between us.I don’t trust him,”Evan said.
“He just wants you to recover quickly.”
Danika knew Eustace’s character very well.He wanted Evan to get better quickly so she would not have to stay by his side forever.
She believed that Eustace was not harboring any ill intentions.
However, talking sense into Evan would prove to be a challenge.
Evan looked at Danika and asked, “Would you leave me if I never recovered?”
“Evan…”
Danika was at a loss for what to say.
“Just answer the question,”
Evan interrupted.
Danika shook her head.
“Of course not.But I hope you’ll receive some treatment and recover quickly.”
“Alright.I’ll get someone to investigate Dr.Gaarder.If Eustace hasn’t bribed him, I’ll consider your suggestion.”
Evan no longer said anything about refusing.He just wanted to delay the treatment.
Perhaps it was time for him to make some other preparations.
Now that he wasn’t so adamant about refusing treatment, Danika sighed in relief.
“Alright.You can get someone to investigate him.I believe that someone like Dr.Gaarder wouldn’t be bribed by anyone.”
Was that so? That wasn’t good news to Evan.
On Monday, Danika went to work at the hospital as usual.
Her life looked to be normal, but something had already happened to make a huge change in it.
She saw Derrick and McKenna in the canteen.
When she remembered what the director had said to her, she looked at them and said, “Thanks for before.”
Although McKenna was making a mountain out of a molehill, Danika didn’t mind.
It was these two who insisted on checking the surveillance footage and discovered that she had been kidnapped.
They saved her.
They looked awkward when they heard her thanking them.
“It’s no problem.We’re colleagues.That’s how it should be.”
McKenna was the one who said that.

She saw through McKenna’s nosiness and smiled, saying, “I’m fine.You guys discovered me in time, so I was rescued.”
McKenna was surprised.
“Is that so? I feel like we hadn’t done much.”
“There’s no need to doubt yourself.You guys really saved me.”
Danika smiled at her from the bottom of her heart.
She didn’t say much to Derrick.
She knew that McKenna had a jealous streak.
