Danika gritted her teeth.She hadn’t thought about these things at first, but she gradually realized the implications as they discussed the matter.

Danika had no words to counter him and could only say, “You’re right.We have nothing to do with each other in any way.You can say whatever you want, and I can make my own decisions without your interference.”

Eustace was angry.He stood up and looked straight at her.

After Eustace was some distance away, Gilbert finally spoke up and asked Danika, “You should know what it means for you and Evan if you choose to take care of him for the rest of your life, right?”

“Maybe we’re just not meant to be,” she added.
In fact, Danika was ready to accept Eustace’s confession and become his girlfriend.

Gilbert sighed.He used to be opposed to Danika getting together with Eustace.

After finally calming down, she turned and walked back into Evan’s ward.
He was sitting by the bed and looking at his phone.
When he heard the door open, he put his phone away and greeted her, “Danika, is everything okay? Are you feeling unwell?”
Then, he shook his head and smiled wryly.
“I just wanted to tell you that I was joking about you taking care of me for the rest of my life.You don’t have to take it seriously.”
“Don’t worry about it, Evan.I know what to do.You just focus on resting and recovering.”
Danika smiled.
Whether he was joking or not, she’d already made her decision.
Evan looked at her and didn’t say anything else.He wasn’t surprised by Danika’s response.He knew she had a strong sense of responsibility and would never leave him to his own devices.
