“Let’s see your parents at Zellweger Castle after breakfast.” Eustace sat up.

Danika was bewildered. “Why?”

Eustace was embarrassed but said, “They know that I proposed, and they want us to have lunch with them.”

Not only that, but to talk about the wedding, too.

I Should Give Her Some Time

Danika rolled her eyes. Eustace was clearly the one who had told them. She’d wanted to tell them, but only after a while. But since Eustace had no.velxo already informed them, Danika had no intention of covering it up. “Alright. I’m going to bathe.”

“I’ll wait for you downstairs.” Eustace had woken up early, and he had already washed up. He just hadn’t woken her up.

Eustace left the room. Danika sat on the bed, staring into the distance for a while. Then, she got off the bed and went into the washroom.

Soon, Danika went downstairs. Eustace was already waiting for her in the living room, and breakfast was ready on the table. This scene alone made no.velxo it feel like they had already been married for a long time.

“Let’s eat.” Eustace saw her coming downstairs and went toward the dining table.

They ate, and soon they were on their way towards Zellweger Castle.

Graham and Lynette were waiting for them. They were both feeling a mixture of emotions. Although they knew this day would come, it still felt too sudden.

Their daughter was going to be married off.

“Don’t worry, Lynette. I’ve observed Eustace for a long time,no.velxo and he’s an acceptable young man. What’s more, with us behind her, Danika won’t suffer, ” Graham comforted Lynette, although he was feeling sad.

However, in comparison,Lynette probably felt worse.

Danika hadn’t even called her “Mom” yet, and she was already about to marry. After her marriage, Danika would see her even less.

Lynette nodded. “I know, and I’m not sad. I should be happy that Danika has found someone to grow old with. What a good thing that is.”

“Yes. Even if Danika marries him, she will still be in Bardoff City. It will be easy for us to see her.” Graham knew what she was worried about.

“Graham, do you think Danika will finally accept me as her mother?” Lynette was not very confident. She was truly afraid that Danika wouldn’t accept her.

Graham hurriedly said, “She will definitely accept you. You are her mother. That is a fact. Besides, Danika knows what happened back then. She won’t blame you for that. She just hasn’t recovered from the shock. Just give her some time.”

After he said that, Lynette relaxed. “Maybe you’re right. I should give her some time.”

As they spoke, footsteps sounded outside the door. They stopped talking and looked toward the door.

Danika and Eustace walked in, not knowing what had been discussed.

“Dad.” Danika looked at Graham. She did not call Lynette her mother. It just didn’t feel right. Things weren’t as awkward between them as before, so she could call her “Madam Bell.” It felt weird, but Danika honestly couldn’t call her “Mom” yet.

“Mr. Zellweger. Madam Bell.” Eustace greeted them both. He believed that he would be calling them Mom and Dad soon.

They smiled at him. Lynette didn’t mind Danika not greeting her. She understood Danika’s emotional conflict, and it was better than being called ” Madam Bell.”

“Let’s sit. There’s still some time to go before lunch. We’d like to use this time to talk with you,” Graham said. His tone was making Eustace anxious.

They sat. Graham and Lynette glanced at each other before speaking. “So, we hear that Danika accepted your proposal last night.”

I Must Warn You

Graham was straightforward. He didn’t beat around the bush with Eustace.

He’d brought those two over that day to talk about this.

“Yes, Mr. Zellweger,” Eustace admitted, nodding. Everyone already knew about it.

“And since she has accepted your proposal, I suppose that you two are ready for marriage,” Graham said, this time looking at Danika.

Eustace obviously wanted to marry, but Graham wasn’t so sure if Danika wanted to. After all, she’d had a failed marriage before. He thought that she would take marriage more seriously.

Danika was stunned. She looked at Eustace, who was looking right back at her. She was silent for a moment. Then, she nodded determinedly. ‘Yes. I’m ready to marry.”

“Good.” Graham heaved a sigh of relief. Now he knew that Danika was no longer concerned about her divorce. She had completely moved on.

Lynette was sporting a somber expression. She’d said nothing yet. “When are you planning to marry?*

She and Graham were planning to travel around the globe. But now that Danika and Eustace were planning to marry, they had to wait for them to marry before setting off.

That was for the best. They wouldn’t have to worry about Danika because someone would be looking after her.

“We haven’t thought about it yet, Madam Bell. We only just got engaged yesterday. We haven’t planned the wedding yet.” Eustace was speechless.

How could he think of so much in just one night?

Graham and Lynette understood that. They’d called them over to talk about the wedding.

“Since you’ve decided to marry, you need to decide on a good date.

Lynette and I will go to consult a priest about this one day,” Graham said with a smile. “As for the wedding, you can plan it yourself. You might not like what we like. We won’t be interfering in that matter.”

Danika had no problem with what Graham said in the second half, but the first half caught her by surprise. ‘Do you believe in those things?’

If it were up to her, she and Eustace would just decide on a date that worked forthem. She wouldn’t consult anyone else.

But Graham was insistent on this matter. “We might as well try to bring good luck to your marriage.*

“Fine. As you wish.* Danika shrugged. She didn’t mind, really. She just thought it was a hassle.

Eustace didn’t mind, either. He comforted Danika. “Consulting someone might be good for us.”

“I don’t mind. You can do whatever you want. I’m busy with work and don’t have time to worry about this.” Danika didn’t mind, no.velxo and she wasn’t planning on worrying about the wedding, either. Eustace had said before that she could entrust it all to him, so she really wasn’t going to worry about it.

Graham looked at Eustace. ‘Are you going to plan it solo, Eustace? Can you handle it? Lynette and I have been free lately. You may call us for help if the need ever arises.”

“Thanks, Mr. Zellweger. Don’t worry. I’ll make the wedding spectacular. I won’t make Danika upset.” Eustace already had a plan in mind. However, a lot of them required custom designing and would require some time to complete.

Graham patted him on the shoulder. He was no longer biased against Eustace. “Alright. I trust you. However, I must warn you about something. no.velxo I only have one daughter, and that is Danika. If you make her upset, I will never let you go. Not even if I’m buried and pushing daisies.”

Have You Really Thought It Through

Graham was serious. Eustace was just about to nod when Danika said, “Dad, you’re worrying too much. If he ever mistreats me, I’ll punish him myself.” She was never one to accept the crap that life threw at her.

She’d already divorced once. She wouldn’t be afraid to do it again.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Zellweger. I’ll treat her well.” Eustace honestly didn’t know how else he could be good to her. He was already willing to give her his entire heart.

Afterward, Graham and Eustace talked about the rough concept of the wedding. Danika wasn’t too interested in these things, so she went for a stroll.

It was summer, and flowers adorned Zellweger Castle. While Danika admired them, footsteps sounded behind her. She didn’t need to look back to know that it was Lynette.

“Danika,” Lynette said hesitantly.

Danika looked back and smiled. “What’s up?”

“Have you really thought this through? Marriage is something that has to be considered carefully.” Lynette was worried that Danika didn’t know Eustace enough. She mostly heard about him through Graham, and she was still concerned.

Danika smiled and nodded. “Don’t worry. I chose to marry, not to depend on him. No matter what, we are our own people. Thus, no matter what happens in our marriage, I will not be affected.”

Danika didn’t think marriage or divorce was worth being afraid of. As long as she was strong enough, the world would not be able to affect her.

Lynette was stunned to hear her say that. Then, she smiled. “Yes. You’re much stronger than I am.”

She couldn’t do what Danika was doing.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be fine.” Until now, there was no bad blood between Danika and Lynette. Although they weren’t as close as a mother and daughter should be, they weren’t estranged.

Lynette nodded. “Why don’t we walk together? The flowers in the garden are beautiful now.”

“Sure,” Danika agreed. She strolled with Lynette in the garden.

In the afternoon, all four of them sat together to have lunch. Graham was very happy and insisted on drinking with Eustace.

Eustace didn’t refuse him. This was his future father-in-law. If he refused, he wouldn’t be able to marry Danika. Hence, when Danika and Eustace left Zellweger Castle, Eustace was drunk again.

Danika drove, looking at the drunk man next to her. “Couldn’t you drink a little less? You’re not even sobered up from yesterday.”

“Your father is happy, Danika. And so am I.” Eustace smiled. Drinking so much like this was a rare occasion for him.

Danika glared at him. “And what about being happy? Do you need to drink every time you’re happy?”

“I promise to drink less in the future. I’m not a fan of alcohol, really.” Eustace straightened up, forcing himself to be sober.

Danika said nothing. “Just drink less in the future.”

“I know.”

The car drove on slowly. Danika sent Eustace back to the villa, and once he settled in his bed, she went looking for Stephanie. She hadn’t talked much with Stephanie last night, and they were to have some girls’ talk today.

In the coffee shop, Stephanie waved at Danika. “Danika, here.”

Danika walked over awkwardly. “I’m late.” “It’s okay. You went to see your parents with Eustace. I understand.’ Stephanie smiled slyly. “Well? Do your parents approve of that future husband of yours?”
