Don’t think about it too much.”

“Mmhmm.” Danika nodded and moved on from this topic.

After giving it a thought, Jade said, “Having said that, you and Stephanie have yet to try your bridesmaid dresses. Since you’re available now, let’s go try it on, so it won’t have any fitting issues when you wear them later.”

She didn’t mind Danika and Stephanie looking prettier than her at her wedding. She even hoped that they would doll up. She would also be happy seeing them looking beautiful.

“Alright. I’ll give Stephanie a call.” Danika accepted her suggestion. It would also be the perfect chance for them to discuss what they should be doing on Jade’s wedding day. It was Danika’s first time being somebody’s bridesmaid, so she had no experience at all.

Stephanie came over very quickly after Danika called her.

Things at Zelliot Inc were more stable recently, so she was not too busy. Besides, she had already gotten the hang of handling the company’s matters, so even if she did not go to the office, it would not be a big deal.

All three of them went to the bridal shop together. Jade had ordered her wedding dress there. It also had bridesmaid dresses, so she got them from the same shop out of convenience.

Jade asked the shopkeeper to bring the bridesmaid dresses over, and then she pushed Danika and Stephanie into the dressing room. “Go try them on.”

Soon, both of them came out of the dressing room. The dresses fit them very well. Both of them had a fair complexion, so they looked very pretty even when wearing green dresses.

“This is my first time seeing somebody looking so pretty in a green bridesmaid dress.” The shopkeeper could not help but praise. When she looked at Danika in particular, her eyes were beaming.

If she had not known Danika’s identity, she probably would have wanted very badly to ask Danika to stay and be their shop’s model.

“Danika, Stephanie, these dresses suited both of you very well. You look very pretty,” Jade could not help but praise them as well.

Danika smiled and said, “Jade, we’re just playing the supporting roles. The prettiest of all is still you.”

“That’s right. We’re the green leaves that serve as a foil to you, the beautiful blossom,” Stephanie echoed.

Tell Me if This Is Real

By the time Danika returned home, it was already nightfall. After she and Stephanie tried on their bridesmaid dresses, Jade treated them to dinner.

When she walked through the door, Eustace was working in the living room. He instinctively turned his head to look at the door when he heard it being opened. “You’re back.”

“Mmhmm. Have you had dinner?” Danika asked with care.

Eustace shook his head. “Not yet. I was thinking of having dinner after finishing this work.”

When Danika was not around, he didn’t even bother having dinner, much less making them. He was just focused on working.

As he said that, Danika already came to him and put the takeout she got on the table. “I knew you hadn’t had dinner. Luckily, I got takeout for you.”

“It was Jade’s treat, yet you got takeout. Don’t you feel embarrassed?” Eustace teased her. He didn’t continue working. Instead, he sat next to Danika and hugged her.

Danika smiled as she didn’t mind that it was Jade’s treat. “We’re so close, so we won’t care about things like these.”

“That makes sense. Your relationship with Jade does seem quite good,” Eustace said as he unpacked the takeout. He didn’t feel it earlier, but after Danika came home, he started to feel a little hungry.

It was the food he liked, so he could tell that Danika did not order something randomly. Instead, she had put thoughts into ordering the takeout for him.

Eustace was pleased. “You’re really great, Danika.”

“I just got you takeout, and that’s great?” If she were to personally make him dinner, Eustace would be over the moon, wouldn’t he?

Eustace nodded while digging in. “Of course. You won’t be so concerned about me back then. This shows that I’m becoming more important in your heart. Of course, I feel happy.”

He made a great case, not only about the fact that Danika got takeout for him but also the fact that she cared more and more about him.

Danika was stunned. She pursed her lips as she was not willing to admit it.” Don’t flatter yourself. These are just the leftovers.”

Eustace smiled when he heard that. He didn’t refute her as he knew it very well deep down.

“Did Max join you guys for dinner?” If Max did join them, then Eustace would be a little annoyed as he should have followed them as well.

Fortunately, Danika shook her head. “He didn’t. He should be occupied with the wedding matters.”

Eustace nodded and said with a faint smile. “I didn’t expect that he’s quite serious. At first, when he said he wanted to pursue Jade, I thought he just wanted a casual relationship like before.”

“That’s right. I thought so too back then.” She even warned Max about it. She didn’t expect that he was serious about it. They were even about to get married soon.

“I wonder when I will be able to marry the woman I love.” Eustace could not help but sigh while having his dinner.

Danika rolled her eyes at him before getting up. “Enjoy your dinner. I’m going to the room to rest.”

“You’re not going to talk with me a little longer?” Eustace asked.

“I have nothing to say to you.” Danika waved, then she went upstairs and disappeared from Eustace’s line of vision.

Eustace chuckled helplessly as he watched her leave. “Alright. I have to continue working hard then!”

Two days later, it was Jade and Max’s wedding.

There was a lounge dedicated to the couple on the second floor of the hotel. At that moment, the bride and the groom were making their final preparations.

Jade held Danika’s hand and was a little nervous. “Tell me, Danika, is this real? Why do I feel it’s a little unreal?”

She had sworn secretly to never trust a man again when she divorced Hayden. However, at that moment, not only did she trust a man again, but she was even going to marry him!

“Jade, it’s real.” Danika remained calm and collected. It was as if her composure could influence Jade and calm her down.

Jade took a deep breath and calmed herself down.

I’m Not in a Hurry

Not long after that, the wedding officially started. As the announcement of the bride’s entrance was made, the door of the hall was opened. Jade took her father’s hand as he escorted her into the hall. Max looked at her from the stage, and the love in his eyes could not be concealed at all.

One step after another, Jade’s father walked her toward Max. Then, he put his daughter’s hand in Max’s hand. “Max, I’m leaving Jade under your care.

I hope you won’t let me and her mother down.’

“Don’t worry, Mr. Weston. I promise that you won’t be disappointed,” Max said seriously. He desperately wanted to swear to him on the spot.

Tears welled up in Jade’s eyes, but she held them in and didn’t burst out crying there and then.

The wedding ceremony continued. As Jade’s bridesmaid, Danika saw it up close when they said their vows to each other. She also watched them hug and kiss each other. She gave them her blessings from the bottom of her heart.

Finally, it was time for the bouquet toss. Danika rubbed her palms. However, just as Danika was prepared to showcase her skills, Jade handed her the bouquet directly. “Danika, I hope you’re the next person to be blessed with happiness.”

Danika was stunned.

“Hurry up and accept it. I have no objections to this at all.” Stephanie nudged Danika’s arm. At the very least, Danika had a boyfriend. Stephanie didn’t even have one, so she was not in a hurry at all.

In the end, Danika didn’t refuse the bouquet. She felt it would be more meaningful if she had caught the bouquet herself, but it was a blessing from Jade, so she could not refuse it.

When the ceremony ended, Danika returned to the table. Eustace put some food on her plate. “You’re hungry, aren’t you? Hurry up and eat up.”

As the bridesmaid and groomsman, they were busy the entire day helping out with the ceremony, so they truly had not eaten much.

“Mmhmm. You too.” It was Jade’s reception. Of course, Danika had to eat more.

While they dug in, Jade and Max started going around to have a toast with guests. Soon, they got to their table.

Jade was a little drunk but was still very happy when she saw Danika married now. You should work hard as well!”

“Jade, I’m not in a hurry.” Danika put on a forced smile. Why did she suddenly feel like everybody was urging her to get married? She was still very young.

Jade smiled and raised her glass. “Thank you for helping out today. For long-lasting happiness.”

“For long-lasting happiness,” Danika and the rest echoed, knocking their drinks back in one go.

Danika could hold her liquor quite well, so one drink was no big deal to her. However, Stephanie only had a moderate alcohol tolerance. Therefore, Leonard quickly took Stephanie’s drink from her and gulped it down.

Stephanie was speechless.

“You can’t drink alcohol,” Leonard said.

Stephanie pursed her lips. She thought that she was not that weak.

“Steph, do you feel very touched by the fact that Leonard cares about you so much?” Danika deliberately teased her.

Stephanie glared at her when she heard that and said nothing. She did feel a little touch, but it was not much.

After that, they did not say anything anymore. They simply focused on eating. After all, they were truly starving.

The guests left very quickly when the wedding ended.

There was a dinner party at night, but that was only for Jade and Max’s friends. They were all still young, so they could enjoy themselves happily.

After they all left the hotel, they were all driven to Max’s mansion by the ride Max had arranged for them. The dinner party would be held there.

It was the first time Danika had come over. It was also the same for the others, Jade included. Of course, to be more precise, it was not Jade’s first time there. She had been there once before. However, the mansion looked completely different from how it was at that moment.

Max had meticulously decorated the mansion. Fresh flowers and balloons could be seen everywhere. In any case, it just looked exceptionally dreamy.

All of them cheered to tease Jade, which made her a little embarrassed. She then whispered to Max, “Why did you do all this for?” “You don’t like it?” Max frowned. He purposely got someone to decorate the mansion for her because he felt Jade would probably like it.

Do You Think I’m Drunk?
